{:About Parents:} Names: Yue and Jaseth Speicies: Angel and Human About:The two had been childhood friends since Yue came out of the vase (Jaseth being one of the few Seconds created is actually older than Yue). Though luck and goddesses' blessing the two grew up together, always going from each stage of their life together, along with Yukito. The funny thing is, at first the two got off to a bad start, what with Yue being over protective of Yukito and Jaseth having a wing fetish. Though it was hard not to care for the poor albino human who had real self esteem issues, it took Yue quite a long while to convince Jaseth he was not going to disappear. The two being the first male couple (and couple period), things had become quite interesting since the two paired up.

{:Family:} Wataru: He is Miyu's twin brother, not much is known about him quite yet. Seki: He is Miyu's older brother, a Kitsune by nature and very cute and mischievious. Kara Winters: Her grandmother, the one who raised her father Yue. Donovan Lau: To lack a better term he is Miyu's grandfather 'figure' rather than grandfather, he is the boyfriend/love of her grandmother. Winters Aunts and Uncles: Miyu in general has a lot of aunts and uncles, and this number keeps changing because Kara keeps adopting. Out of her aunts and uncles, Trisha, Feng, Ryu and Yukito are Seconds like her. Winters Cousins: Not as many cousnis, quite yet, out of all of her cousins Celebor, and Malifice are Seconds like her. Daemon Winters: Great-grandfather, thought to be deceased, found out to be sealed in a sword. Unknown in his status.

{:Mouse:}
Journal Log July 5th, 2007
I suppose in truth it should be Yue or Jaseth writing in this journal instead of myself. I had never thought about what would happen if any of my children had children, but I suppose for now I’ll write in it. It is not like I don’t get to see Miyu everyday, and she will no doubt be teen before I even get a grey hair. Though it does make me feel a bit odd to be writing about my grandchild, at least it is not a great-grandchild as of yet.
Miyu has become our little mouse, because she is in many ways a mouse. Anyone knew she skitters across the floor in a panic until she rams into something or someone. Yet, she also has this happen of whamping people on their legs when she wants something. Of course it goes without saying Miyu doesn’t talk. I don’t think it is a genetic thing she gained from Jaseth because she can talk, she just doesn’t and she can make sounds because she tends to make a high ‘mimi’ sound when she’s frightened. No… she’s like Yue and Yukito when they were here at her stage.
So for all I know she will perhaps one day grow out of her lack of words and start talking. Maybe she would even talk as much as Yukito…. Who knows. Though I wonder if she got her skittish behaviour from Jaseth…

{:Growing Up:}
Journal Log October 26th, 2007
It has been many months since Miyu and Wataru have been born, and thankfully they get along with Seki very well. Miyu seems to be quite fond of both her brothers, though she likes to spend time wherever Seki is. This I’m glad for, it was one of those issues that Jaseth and I had not thought of when we decided we wanted vases of our own.
She’s still her usual self though, I think it’s just things bigger than her that tend to send her scurrying. I think anyways, since she didn’t run from the snake boys in the river. From what I was told, though she did run from that one boy, but only for a small while. These days, Miyu has been carrying around this stuffed star with a happy face on it. It didn’t seem fair that she didn’t have a stuffed animal while Watatru had Yukito’s old one.
It is also a life saver that she has that plushie because of her habit of whacking people when she wants attention. Better with a thing stuffed with fluff than something harder than that. She is also starting to show some interest in magic. Miyu is quite fond of watching me cast some match, which leads me to wonder how she’ll be when she gets older. Perhaps she’ll take after the moon and ice like myself, or just cold in general. Maybe she won’t, I won’t know until she’s older, though mother is saving objects for Miyu’s own magical education in the future.

{: More Changes: }
Journal Log January 2nd, 2008
Miyu has grown much, mentally I mean and emotionally since she first came out of her vase. She is more willing to speak, though she has this habit of adding ‘mi’ all the time. She sounds somewhat like a mouse when she does that, but then again she does have mouse like habits. Like scurrying about, fortunately she has been doing that less. Unless it’s people, big people still make her nervous and even when she is caught completely off guard. Which is unfortunate seeing as majority of people are bigger than her at that size. Well, it can’t be helped, but that is the way things are, hopefully though she’ll grow to be more sure of herself.
Other than that she is developing fine, she has grown to have a close bond with Seki. Something I was somewhat worried about seeing as the twins came after Seki and Seki is adopted. This is the first time there has been any blood related children in the family that are not twins. Miyu still has this odd habit of hitting people with things when she wants attention, it’s not that she’s violent. It just seems the only way she knows how to get attention, especially when she tries not to speak when it is not needed. Or even when it is needed at times.
My only worry is her learning about things she is not yet ready for. Somehow her brother Wataru keeps getting a hold of these comics of sorts featuring men doing… acts to each other. It isn’t the fact that they are both men that bother me, after all it would be hypocritical seeing as Jaseth is my husband. However they are only Surprise Seconds and should not be seeing that sort of thing. Not to mention it has Miyu horribly confused because she is a girl. Unfortunately at the moment it is not the time to explain Miyu about the facts of life. I will only have to wait until she is old enough for me to explain, in which… I’m not sure how to since I’ve never seen it from a female’s perspective. Perhaps I shall ask Mother when the time comes.

{:Growing Pains of the Mental Kind:}
When one normally grew, they tended to grow slowly over time, so slight and so slow that one would not notice until taking a measurement and stock of one’s surroundings. So one could only imagine what it would be like to sprout up suddenly and see the world very much changed, though at the same time very much the same. Miyu, as far as anyone knew was not excessively tall for a child, she had grown to her father’s thigh. Though to be fair, her father, Yue was unusually tall. Still, for her that was very tall compared to the several inches child who could have easily gotten lost in the tall grass of the Second’s world. So it was a bit disorienting for her to see things around her had gotten smaller, in addition having to learn once more how to use a fork, and knife.
The biggest difference though did not come from her height, but of something else that was developing. You see, for Miyu who’s parents were both male, and who had only brothers, and who’s twin brother no less was prone to reading improper yaoi comics, her new development caused her some distress. For as she peered at herself through the mirror taking in her longer hair and slimmer body, she noticed there were two bumps… that were not there before. She poked at them, prodded at them and looked to her twin brother when he was too engrossed with his book to notice her. He lacked those bumps, so did her other brother and her father and her mother (who was male). This disturbed her greatly, because no one else in her family had them but her. No, this would not do, so Miyu went to the only person she could think of.
Her father.
Yue was in the middle of writing his daily report to the headmistress and master of the school. Fortunately the students knew better, for the most part to cause trouble. The most troubling thing they had were students skipping, but otherwise no one was seriously injured or traumatized for that matter. In fact it was so normal that writing the report was boring, to the point where he was paying no attention to anything around him as he set about doing his mind numbing task. The door to the room he and Jaseth shared cracked open, as Miyu poked her white haired head in. One finger hooking the bottom of her lip she padded in until she was standing right behind her father.
“Mi….” she murmured softly, “Daddy?” Yue muttered absently as he began to list the names of the students who had ditched class, it was always the same students so he wondered why he had to bother, “Hmmm?”
For a moment she did not say a word, for she was not absolutely certain how she was going to explain this to her dear father. She looked down at herself for a moment, before looking back up at Yue.
“I think I’m getting fat.”
The pen screeched to a halt on the paper letting the ink soak in creating a blue blotch where someone’s name was supposed to be. He could not have heard right, could he? His daughter, his little girl, his child… could have not just said she was getting fat? Not the little girl who seemed to take so much after his mate except in hair colour. Yue whirled around in his seat to face her, taking good note and stock. Her lovely purple and yellow dress emphasized the slim nature of her body, and for once he was dumb founded. Yue had always heard about this kind of thing associated with girls, but he never thought his little girl who wasn’t even a teenager yet.
“What gives you that idea?” Yue asked trying to keep the ice out of his calmness. Miyu looked at the ground, shuffling her feet she murmured, “Well… I have bumps.” “Bumps….”
What on earth she was talking about completely went over his head, what bumps? Did she mean her hips? Since that was the only place he could think of at the moment that could have bumps, and that was were most females as far as he had heard thought their fat were. However instead of pointing to her hips, Miyu raised her arms and pointed to her chest. Indeed, there were two tiny mounds on her chest, which were… Yue turned red with embarrassment; his daughter thought she was getting fat because she was developing early?
He coughed, trying to explain, “Miyu, that’s your chest. It is normal.” “No it’s not,” she protested. Now he was really confused, “Why not?” “Because you don’t have them, and Mommy doesn’t have them, and Wataru doesn’t have them and Seki really doesn’t have them.”
At that moment Yue could have whacked himself on the head, he had thought naively that since he had female relatives that she would understand that this was normal. However this seemed to be a problem that went under the ‘other’ question she had involving her gender.
“Miyu… you are female,” Yue tried to explain, “And your mother and I, and your brothers are male. Having bumps on your chest is normal.” She wasn’t so sure, “Are you just saying that to make me feel better?” “No! No…” he was completely embarrassed why couldn’t she have waited till she was older for this?
He coughed for a moment trying to think of a way to prove to her it was normal, which of course meant he needed examples.
“Your grandmother has those, so does your Auntie Feng, and your Auntie Trisha, and all your older aunts do, it’s just when you’re little they don’t show up as much, but as you get older they will… probably get bigger.”
Officially now he was disturbed, this was not how he wanted to think of his mother and sisters! Not to mention he shouldn’t be talking to his little girl about them getting bigger, but it was normal!
“So…. Someday I’m going to have those large soft things on my chest?” Miyu asked.
Is that what she thought they were?
“Yes… all females have them to certain degrees… some not as much, but you do have them, because you are female,” Yue sighed. “Oh…” Miyu murmured, “So I’m not getting fat.” “Little one, you are too active to get fat.”
Miyu thought about this… and thought about this, and in the end she had to admit that she could not imagine her grandmother and her aunts without their soft things. So if Daddy said it was normal then it was normal and someday she would have them.
“Okay! That’s good to know, or else I would worry because I wasn’t like that before,” she told him with a wide smile. “I’m… glad I could help.”
Miyu giggled and skipped forward so she could crawl on his lap to give him a peck on the cheek. Before skipping off to play with her brothers, in her family she was special, because she was female.

{:Yami-san:} Entry log February 17th, 2008
Hello…
I asked Daddy if I could write in here instead, because I wanted to write about this myself, since Daddy was not there. Kaito stole Star-san and took him to another world and I followed. There are a lot of tall people in this other world, that is because they are all elves. I think everyone taller than me is scary until I get to know them.
There is a ranch there that grandpa owns, and there are people working there. They are all very nice. There was even one who gave me candy, he reminds me of Uncle Yuki. Because he likes candy too and his room is very messy.
My favourite person there is Yami-san, it is not really his name. I just call him that because I didn’t know his name. He is Yami-san because he is all dressed in black, and is very dark looking. He looks very scary, but he is very nice and tells me stories about the stars. Sometimes, I go and follow him around on his check ups, just like I do with Daddy. Only, he does not have to write anything for anyone, just talk and tell. Often he tells this very tall elf named Elros, Lin likes to hang around Elros a lot.
Everyone is surprised I like to be around Yami-san, but I don’t know why. Yes, he is scary looking, but he is just scary looking. He is really nice and has a nice laugh. Kaito I think, thinks so too, and Lin does not mind him neither.

{:Education for Miyu:} Entry log March 6th, 2008
I wonder if Miyu should be taught by grandmother, perhaps a random and pointless consideration. After all Yukito is more than capable of seeing to Miyu’s education, however I think Miyu needs a more feminine influence. Or perhaps her last question after her last growth still has me reeling.
Despite this worry about the influences, her life she is doing very well at her lessons. Yukito has told me she had made her first object and unlike when Yuki and I do so it is permanent. A star he said, however I never did get to see it. Miyu tells me she gave it to Yami-san, and she seemed quite pleased with his reaction. She wants to try even harder now at her magic.
Now if only I can convince her to start taking self-defense lessons, making her do physical self defense lessons would be difficult, but perhaps magic lessons in defense. However I’m not sure if I can convince her, the idea just might send her into a panic attack. Perhaps she should spend more time with other children before I bring up the subject. For her self confidence after all…

{:The Problem With Brothers:} Entry log May 10th, 2008
I would suspect that after a bonding, Miyu would be more likely to want to take a nap while her body adjusts to having support her and Toshiro. Miyu though, didn’t seem to want to slow down, she continued with her lessons the next day. To be honest, I am proud of her for that, knowing that most would have taken the chance to not have lessons at all.
Though part of it, is trying to improve herself. Miyu is attempting to spend time with other people without skittering, which is having mixed results. She is spending a great deal of time going with Donovan and the others to the Ranch. Normally, I would be bothered by this, but I think in the wake of finding out how much Wataru likes the… erotic yaoi genre this is probably for the best. I don’t know how to keep him from doing so, he’s too young to know about these sort of things, but I’d rather he not drag Miyu into it. Besides the fact it is not good for her to know this now, but as a female she does not understand a females perspective on this.
It would not surprise at this point, as much as I cringe to think about it, that Miyu thinks the act of making love happens only between males.

{:The Scary Person:}
He didn’t know what caused it; he couldn’t tell what happened between the sobs and the shakes. All Yue knew as a father was that his little girl was worse than Jaseth on a bad day, and he wanted someone to pay. Unfortunately there was a sense of foreboding about what happened as Lin had told him that was a particularly bad idea as she tried to hide her writing hand from his view. That did not go over well for him, and went over well less as he found himself sitting with Miyu trying to comfort her.
He wasn’t getting very far, she kept crying about the Scary Person who looked a lot like her Yami-san, who… from what little he could tell gave Miyu the impression he was going to hurt them. At this point, Miyu wanted her Daddy (whom she was clinging to like a life preserver), she wanted her Mommy (who was with her brother), and most of all she wanted Yami-san.
“And then he told her that people would cut out her eyes for staring at like that!” she wailed some more before giving Yue’s robes another round of soaking.
The normally stoic angel wrapped his arms around his little girl and once more tried to calm her down. He stroked her hair which was sticking out haphazardly out of her braid. If this kept up, she was going to cry herself sick. He adjusted his little girl in his arms, hoping that she wouldn’t get any nightmares tonight.
“It’ll be okay,” he cooed softly at her, “I’m right here, and you are home. No one will come after you here.”
Though he doubted anyone would go after a little girl, yet he was going to have to ask his sister more about this. He wanted to know if there really was threat to his family. Miyu shuddered a bit as she finally managed to cry herself to sleep. Yue hoped that maybe she would think it was nothing more than a nightmare, which wasn’t likely. He really hoped this wasn’t going to make her worse….
He really, really wished he could do something.

{:Thoughts on Scary Person:} Entry log June 24th, 2008
If stars really gave wishes, I wished I never met the Scary Person, because things have not been the same since the Scary Person has appeared. Even though Yami-san told me to forget about Scary Person, I really can’t. I met Scary Person a few days ago when we were going for a picnic at the mountain base. Lin says that the mountain streams have the best water, and she wanted to see if there was a place for her to train. I saw a man who looked a lot like Yami-san and thought that maybe somehow Yami-san came here. Yami-san knows so much, it would not surprise me if he did. I went after him, calling his name only to find out it was not Yami-san but this person named Corrah, but to me he’s Scary Person. He scared me so badly that I screamed, and it only made him yell more. Toshiro said that it looked like he was going to use a weapon on us, until Lin got between us.
He was very, very scary, even though Lin said it was a mistake he was being very mean about it. Toshiro calls him a creep because of that. Scary Person also hurt Lin’s wrist and told her that people who stare like she did would have their eyes cut out. He gave me nightmares, two nights I only saw his eyes. I kept thinking it was Yami-san until I saw his eyes, I know those aren’t Yami-san’s eyes, because Yami-san’s eyes are black like the night sky without the moon or stars. Seeing Yami-san after meeting Scary Person, I know how there are a lot of differences. Like… Scary Person’s hair kind of hung out of his hood a bit, but Yami-san’s doesn’t, because he keeps it in a neat braid. Yami-san also has a good voice (I say good voice because Lin says he has a harsh voice too) he always uses his good voice when I see him. I don’t think Scary Person has a good voice.
Armus said that Scary Person had probably saved our lives by chasing us off, but I think he enjoyed scaring us too much. I don’t like the way he laughed when he told Lin about her eyes, even if he was saving us that was not nice at all.
It’s not my fault everything scares me, everything is scary. Grandpa said that life would not kill me as long as I am good. He then gave me a look and asked me why I thought life was going to kill me, but that is what Armus said. Grandpa told me life wouldn’t kill me unless I was delicate like glass. Am I delicate like glass? I don’t know, he wouldn’t tell me but I do not want to be like that, but it seems like that. Daddy isn’t scared of anything and Uncle Yukito isn’t neither. People are scared of Grandpa... though I don’t know why. Just because Scary Person gave me nightmares.
I wish I never met him.
If I could stop running maybe then I could stop being scared, but that’s so hard to do. Maybe if I was better magic (because I don’t like fighting) maybe then I might stop running. I do not know, but it is making my head hurt thinking about it. I think I’ll go and make that quilt for Yami-san.
Yami-san I bet can be much scarier than Scary Person, but he does not give me nightmares!
