The reddish brown cub sat near the sea, watching the water move in and out. It was the first time he had ever been out of his den, and all he could fixate on was the liquid as it moved in and out around him, and the small butterfly that was perched on his nose. His parents had called him Wacheza, because even as he sat there, watching the purple and green butterfly on his nose and listening to the water, he looked as though he was about to start into a movement that would be nothing short of an elagent dance move. Even the way he tilted his head looked beautiful. Wacheza smiled and blew lightly on the bug, letting it flutter lightly above his nose before it flew back down and landed on his nose again, making him smile and close his eyes before opening them again on the butterfly he had never seen before. It was all new, and in Wacheza's eyes, it was perfect. And yet so breakable. The lion knew very well that he could eat the trusting bug at any moment, but he chose not to. It was too graceful to destroy. Their siloet was perfect.

Mirija was thrilled to finally be let out. Ever since she had been able to walk she had wanted to leave-but perhaps that was the sea calling her. For she, and her siblings, had all been born on its sands. She bounded along the shore, her steps as elegent and rhythmed as the coming and going of the tide, just like her brother. She peered out at the giant expanse of water before her. It was new and yet it felt almost like she had seen it before. With a giggle to extasy she pranced over to her brother and flopped down next to him, "It's so amazing!"

The butterfly was startled and flew away, makng Wacheza jump a little, then he smiled at his sister, "Hello Miri." He said cheerfully, stretching out, "I was just thinking about it... the big sea. This is all so... different than our big... den. This is bigger."
He watched for a while longer and then smiled, "And prettier. I like it outside Miri."

Miri giggled. She danced on light steps, enjoying the feel of the shifting sand under her paws. "I like it outside too!" she chimed, "It's a lot more fun then the den! Hehe!" She flopped onto her belly, scattering a bit of sand into the air in the process. "Momma should have let us out sooner~!" she grinned, pawing at a long stalk of a hardy reed, the type that could grow long and tall even in this poor soil.

"Hum..." Wacheza stood up, then flopped down on his sister, getting comfortable quickly, "You're a big pillow." He informed her, laying his head down in the sand, the butterfly landing on his ear, "And comfy. I'm glad moma let us out though... I was worried we'd have to stay in the den... forever."

"Eeep!" Miri squeaked as her brother flopped on top of her. He was heavy! Well, not that she knew many things and their weights anyway. She giggled and squirmed beneath his fluffy form, wriggling back and forth. "Cheza!" She laughed, nipping playfully at his ear. "Yeah! It was so boring in there, being stuck would be no fun! But Momma wouldn't do that," she mumbled through her full mouth, her green eyes bright.

Wacheza rolled off of her...and then down the sand, and then into the water, and then out of the water, and then got his coat filled with sand, "...Yeah, but moma got over it I guess. I like being outside. I would sleep here if moma would let me. I like it. It's pretty. And it... helps me think, even late at night."

Miri sat up once he had gotten off, her black and white fur a little mussed. When she saw her brother, however, she had to laugh. He had turned the color of the sand because of how the small grains clung to his fur. "Hehe!! Cheza, you look like a sea monster!" She giggled, rocking back on her heels and putting her paws on her chest. She really wished he could see himself. She then rolled over on the warm sand, resting her head on it's side slightly, "We should ask Momma...I wanna stay out here."

"Yeah... we should try." Wacheza smiled a little, "Do I look like a monster?" He ran over to the sea and started to roll around again, getting seaweed on himself to make him look more imposing.
It didn't work. He just looked completely riddiculous.
"Hey... I found a seashell." Wacheza said absently, finding one and pulling it out of the water, "Pretty...I like it!" He said, drifting off again and staring at the horizon with the seashell in his mouth, as though a thought had suddenly hit him.

"Hehe! Not a very scary one!" Miri laughed, rolling on her back as she giggled. The seaweed was definately a nice touch! Haha, maybe he was a baby monster? Her ears perked at the mention of the sea shell and she rolled onto her belly, bouncing to her feet. "Let me see, let me see!" She chimed, prancing over to him eagerly. She wanted to get a better look, but he wasn't even paying attention! Silly Brother, always getting distracted.

"Huh...?" Wacheza asked as his sister caught his attention again and he dropped the shell, "Oh...here it is. Pretty, yes?"
The shell was a bright pibk color, like a small conch with slight spikes, but there was nothing living in it now. It just looked pretty.
"Do you think if we listen to it we'll hear the ocean?" Wacheza asked while he was still paying attention. He did tend to go off and think about other things at awkward moments.

"Oooo! You found a good one," Miri said, delighted. She bent down on her belly to look at it more closely, her green eyes sparkling as she did so. "Momma talked about these...and she said we could so...." She shuffled forward, putting her ear against the shell's opening and perking it to catch the sounds. There was a vivid echo coming from it and it certainly did sound like the ocean! I had that sound that one heard when underwater, an echoing ripping. "Oooo, Cheza, it works!" she grinned, pulling back and dancing away a few steps so he could have a listen.

Wacheza slowly leaned down and listened, then he smiled brightly, "It works really well Miri." He giggled a little bit, "We should take it and show moma. She would probably like it, right?" He said thoughtfully, then he looked down at himself.
"...Maybe I should clean up first."

Miri nodded and bounced on her feet, "Mm hm! Momma would really like it! Hehe!" She twirled a little, making marks in the sand. "If you don't clean yourself, momma's going to give you a bath~" she teased. Baths were the bane of the young girl's existance. Of course, her brother probably didn't share that sentatment, but she didn't really think about that.

"Baths are okay... all you need to do is think of something else and it doesn't bug you... not me anyway." Wacheza said, shaking out so that the seaweed and waterdrops flew onto his sister as well as him. He still looked like a mess.
Now Miri was his virtual twin when it came to how dirty they were.
"I'll even show you how. Maybe she'll go easy on you when we give her this." Wacheza said cheerfully, picking up his shell and trotting off with a little bounce in his step. Even when he was filthy with seawater and seaweed, he still managed to look lovely when he moved. A strange skill he had unintentionally mastered.
