I want to get a MSD that's affordable, less than 300 dollars, and that's pretty. I've looked at Bobobi's and I'm just curious if there are any cuter ones.

I really would like some tips on face-ups. What type of paint brushes for resin MSD's and what types of paints. Tips, techniques, etc.
I also would like to know a good way to do eyebrows.

The face-up technique for SD applies on MSD, obviously. The only difference I'd imagine is getting an even finer brush for the smaller parts such as eyebrow and lip lines.

The paint is usually acrylic paint. It's easy to apply and take off. Paint brushes are the smallest, finest you can find, and it's better if you spend the money to buy them in good quality because the LAST thing you want is hair breaking off when you're painting (happened to me once.... ARGH. rolleyes )

For starters on eyebrows, you can do a technique I've heard in the past. Draw them on paper first near the folding of a paper, then cut it out to make a stencil so you have 2 sides equal length. Then when you paint the doll, carefully put the paper on the doll so you won't scratch the doll with paper (use a softer paper is better) and paint the eyebrow within the stencil. It's suppose to give you an even eyebrow and it's good for beginners. 3nodding

Good luck~!

If you can catch them while they're doing UFKs I suggest Angel Region.

I wouldn't suggest Mythdoll though they do have alright dolls *isn't going to start that rant at the moment*.

Dollzone has a lot of afordable cute minis as well.

For some reason I'm not pulling many off the top of my head though I know there's several more. Also Souldoll did and unfinished kit thing awhile ago aswell and they might do another at some point in the future. I suggest trolling the marketplace.

Luts Kid Delfs run at $290, but that doesn't include shipping and they only come with eyes if your order them blank. Still, I'd get one if I didn't already have 2 large dolls on their way and an unhappy bank account.

As for face-ups, if you really want to do it yourself the same rules apply as they would for SDs except for maybe smaller brushes as Hieru said.

You could always see if someone you know wants to do a Too-Bee-A split. That runs at almost exactly 300 with one case, the two dolls, eyes, and face up. No face up will get you close to 260 each.

My Face-ups. I use soft pastels and acrylic paints and annoyingly tiny brushes. MSC is my b***h. <3

I've since added mass amounts of purple eyeshadow to her face-up. XD

Since people have already listed dolls above (although I will reiterate Dollzone, because I love their headmolds to itty-bitty bits), I found an excellent guide on a sit called The Domino Effect.
*scrambles like a mad cow on roller skates for link*
It has lots of info that I think is useful, although it is for an SD head, everything is essentially the same for the smaller heads (I believe).
