Temari and Tayuya - Music on the wind Temari and Tayuya battled it out on one faithful episode on Naruto. This was the first and only time the two would meet. Temari was protecting her new found comrade Shikamaru. I personally think deep down inside Temari was aching when she saw Tayuya fall. This thread is deticated to the best yuri pair in the world, next to SakuIno, Temari and Tayuya.

Techniques: Dust Wind (Ninpou Fuusajin), Summoning Technique (Kyuichose No Jutsu), Sickling Winds (Ninpou Kamaitachi), Spinning Whirl (Kirikiri)
The eldest child on Gaara's team, Temari, as well as Kankuro, is terrified of Gaara, her youngest brother. When Gaara is away, she is a confident, strong Genin, although not a bully like Kankuro. Despite her fear for Gaara, she can be caring towards him, but only if Gaara isn't riled up.
She has a deep dislike for war, and shows it when her teacher Baki told them their mission to Hidden Leaf for the Chuunin exams. Despite her dislike, besides Gaara, she has the strongest offense. Her enormous fan can execute a Slashing Wind attack, which can take on groups of enemies, and equally effective in a duel. She thinks ahead, like Shikamaru, to better suit her abilities.Tayuya

Techniques: Four Man Purple Flame Array (Shishienjin), Illusion Harmony
Tayuya is a pretty weak character. The only thing she has going for her is her flute. Other then that she has nothing really worth adding to the sound 4 but her foul mouth and she is always constantly yelling at jiroubou. Even with her strength to control and summon ethereal spirits she still lacks a lot in taijutsu and ninjutsu and even genjutsu.
Tayuya is not all flawed she does of course have her special summon of the Chakra eating spirits which she can control with her flute. These summons can attack and eat at a opponents physical energy with the whims of a note.
Not much was said about Tayuya in the manga but she did put up a hell of a fight with Skikimaru and when she went into L.V 2 curse seal she had enough strength to dispel the bind of the shadow bind technique.
What she really lacks in is just basic tactics and strategy and she is very lacking in any intelligence so she can be tricked very easily by those who escalade her own intelligence.

Why TemaTayu?
I like Temari and Tayuya because they just about the perfect example of strength vs. love. Although both of the girls in this couple are both very strong and very proud I think they could find it in themselves to love another person. I find they are so good for because they would clash so much and their relationship would never get boring.
They would keep each other from falling apart. All relationships are hard and the ones that fail mainly fall apart because the two people involved are not strong enough to save it. These two girls are both determined and headstrong. They most certainly have the power to hold themselves, one another, and each other together.
They portrait both quickness and intellegence as well. Neither one of these girls could proform their jutsus with out those components being included.
Temari is a royal kunoichi from Sunagakure and Tayuya is a lowly slave at the hands of Orochimaru. But they are botch highly skilled and very powerful. Together they make one almost unbreakable bond.

ShikaTema/ShikaTayu vs. TemaTayu ShikaTema Argument
ShikaTema is a grand couple. One of the closest ones to cannon after the timeskip. Temari shows her devotion to Shikamaru in the episode where she saves his a** from Tayuya. Number of which I do not know. She fights Tayuya to the death, which wasn't entirely hard, and saved Shikamaru. I, personally, don't think she would have done it had it not been an order. I can't say she wouldn't have kicked Tayuya's a** if she just saw her wondering around. Temari just seems like the type that loves to fight.
ShikaTayu Argument
I have to say there is not hardly any argument for this pair. Seeing as these two characters barely interact other than that single fight. Although I believe given the chance this pair would be amazing. Shikamaru's unwillingness to fight with a girl would be interesting in contrast to Tayuya's pushy nature. Although I have a feeling Shikamaru may be able to break Tayuya's spirit. I can see Shikamaru turning himself. Him gaining power after defeating Tayuya. Because for this pair to work he would have had to beat Tayuya on his own or she would have killed him. Saying Temari hadn't come to the rescue of course. So maybe feeling broken and down Tayuya would accept Shikamaru's love. But still. Shikamaru is not powerful, he is a lazy. Tayuya would just be able to push him around. And if she wasn't pushing him around, it would be th otherway. And that is boring which totally makes TemaTayu better.
TemaTayu Argument
TemaTayu works because these two are very similar. Their personalities will clash and they will fight. But it won't for a second get boring for these girls. They are both powerful women and they will keep each other strong. Unlike the Shikamaru pairs they both are strong and they are both determined. Shikamaru is lazy, but strong. But I don;t think he has the work ethic nor the ambition to keep these two ladies two himself.
