I'm sorry, i'm not sure if i'm not supposed to make Boards, erm...whatever. But, I need some help.
Anyway....It's so sad. I'm Bi, and I can't even show my pride or support on the 'net. The one place i'm supposed to be safe to show my true feelings, right? (To a certain extent)
I tried to put up a link-thing to the GSA (and a few other-related guilds) and when one of my closest friends was over, we went on the computer, and she looked up my account on gaia, so she could add me to her friends list, and as soon as she saw the Bi-guild-link-thing. She turned her head and looked at me like "wtf"? And, when I realized what she was looking at, I nearly jumped at the mouse, and scrolled up as quickly as I could. Then, she says, "wait, scroll back down, I wanna she what that was..." She had a look of pure terror on her face. So, thinking carefully about what to do, I decided to scroll down just enough so she could see my homophobe-sig-thing.
Apparently that was enough for her, because then she perks up her head, and says "Oh gosh, what a relief, I thought you had some kind of gay-pride/lesbian/bi thing in your sig." -she starts giggling- And, all I can do is just laugh nervously, and say "Heh. Of course not! Why would I have something like that in my sig?" When, what I really wanted to say was, "duh! It's because i'm freaking bi"
-sigh- has anyone else ever had this kind of problem with one of your friends?

No, I'd assume it's all right to be in its own thread.
And you should just come out. Doing so will weed out those who were never truly your friends. A friend is someone who will stay by your side no matter what happens or who you are. Trust me, it will be better than talking to someone that isn't a real friend.

Though, I suppose, summer is probably the safest time to do it, I mean, maybe it'll prevent the news from spreading so rapidly. (I mean, like, around my community and such) Because, if I did come out any time soon, it would only be to my friends, not my family...

I wouldn't fear, really. I know it's not the mainstream way of thinking, but I believe that bisexual is the perfect balance. The Way I see it, is that attraction is based on chemicals and chromosomes; when you're attracted to only one sex, there's an inbalance towards that direction. When you're attracted to the same sex, there's also an imbalance in THAT direction. However, when you're attracted to both, I see it as a perfect balance. ^_~

First of all, it's fine that you made this thread ^_^
Secondly, it is sad. I agree that a good solution would be just coming out, but it's all about what you're comfortable with, and how strong you are, and if you're ready for it. It's hard to live a double life, but don't worry, change in your situation will come, because life is change.

Thats really tough. I know how it is. Some times I just want to scream 'I'M BI NOW GET THE ******** OVER IT' To my great grandmother. Though I'm only bi-? Because its kind of the same thing.
I have these old measure 36 (gay marraige measure from the fall voting in Oregon) buttons, that I just wore everywhere and anyone I ran into that asked me about them it was the same question everywhere. 'Are you gay or something?' Of course if I wasn't in school I would have replied... 'I'm sorry what did you say? I think you might need to get a shovel so you can dig your head out of your a**. I couldn't hear you.' But of course I didn't, I was at school. So I just replyed. 'No I support it. I'm a ally.' Well then I have to go and explain what an ally is .... *shakes head* stupid people.
So, I've delt with things like this alot over the past year or so. Though, I've been lucky enought that I have friends that are fine with it. Most if not all are allys and support GLBT people.
It gets hard, I know. But for me at least, its a matter of showing how far I'm willing to put myself out there and show my pride of support. Not everyone can be as strong as me, but I see people that try. And thats just great.
BTW, *giggle* ^-^ If I had my orignal sig up, besides a few extra things, we have the same sig.

Well, sooner or later you'll have to come out and tell the truth... Hopefully as your friend she'll accept you. I think it's sad and silly that just because someone finds out that you happen to like the same sex they think things are all different now. Don't really get why either...

TrishieChan Well, sooner or later you'll have to come out and tell the truth... Hopefully as your friend she'll accept you. Like, for instance, how one of my best friends came out when I was dating her, and she's still one of my best friends to this day. Judging by her reaction to the GLBT pride stuff, how she had a mortified look on her face, she seems like she'll need to get used to the idea of you being bi. TrishieChan I think it's sad and silly that just because someone finds out that you happen to like the same sex they think things are all different now. Don't really get why either... "OMFG J00 leik t3h smae sexxxxx0rz j0o r t3eh f4gzorz omg hax." ..I catagorize homophobes under "Socialy Inept".

I kinda had the same problem. I have an account on VampireFreaks.com and my dad found the link on the family computer. It has this shinny sparkely rainbow that says underheath is, "Bi sexual and loving it, I love chicks and dicks!"...
