You know, Rock is dead, the music behind the lyrics sounds like a Bowie Spin-off. Ya know? I love Bowie and Manson! YAY!

Oh Marilyn Manson, how you want to be shocking. Alas, whenever I see your heavily make-uped face, I can feel nothing but laughter.

Dear Scari-Mari,
Don't take me making fun of Marilyn Manson as a personal attack. I hate it when people do that. What I think of a singer that you may or may not like is not necessarily commentary on how I feel about you. And it's nice that you look like that, I guess. confused I'd like to look like Selma Hayek, or perhaps Uma Turman. Oh, and as for who I am. I'm Racer X. Obviously. Love,
-Raziya
Anyway. I love you too, Flake, though I must say that I don't really hate Manson per say. I just can't take him seriously. But he does make me sad in the pants as well. 3nodding

Marilyn Manson is alright but he's great when it comes to pushing people's buttons. He's always stated he was influenced by the glam look and he likes to incorporate into his image. I wouldn't go as far to say he "copied" Bowie though since the two pictures look quite different in my opinion

He used to be good a pressing buttons. On like...his first album. That one shocked people. But then it sort of went down hill and he started trying too hard. And he did a cover of Personal Jesus that totally offended my delicate sensiblilities.

For those who probably don't know, David Bowie was one of the rock stars that Marilyn Manson idolized as a kid. Actually, I'm not sure if "idolized" is an apropo term, but I do know that Manson listened to Bowie's music (probably still does. Hey, who knows?), and was influenced by it. I mean, most songs in the rock n' roll genre resemble others somewhat, as all of the more recent bands are at least slightly influenced by older ones. One type of music flows into another, you know? Manson wasn't copying Bowie. Hell, I don't see why he would- I think he's hated enough already by parents and church-goers around the world, especially after the whole Columbine thing (which was completely unfair to blame on him, in my opinion).
@ Raziya: He's still good a pushing people's buttons. I happened to like Manson's cover of Personal Jesus, and it's really what got me into his music. But you're entitled to your own opinion, of course.
Much like Scari-Mari, I adore both artists, although it's much more like an obsession... sweatdrop And if the similarities between them are to be debated, well more fun for me, then. 3nodding
