Probably one of the world's most influential Death Metal bands. Started back in 1988 Chris Barnes formed the band on the sole fact to take metal to a new dark more sadistic place it has never gone. While writing their first album, Eaten Back to Life Barnes constantly listened to SLAYER's Reign in Blood for that record he claims is what gave him the idea for Cannibal Corpse. With songs very close in subject matter the band was rejected by fans and venues early on in their career. But with the release of Butchered at Birth the band gained in popularity and fanbase. Their 3rd album, Tomb of the Mutilated has been proclaimed by Barnes as his "greatest masterpiece to date". With memorable songs like Hammer Smashed Face, I c** Blood, and Entrails Ripped from a Virgin's c**t we know why. The following album, The Bleeding would be the last Cannibal Corpse album he would write. By the 1995 Barnes had been working on a side project titled Six Feet Under with Obituary guitarist Allen West. The side project took most of Barnes' time so in early 1996 the band asked him to leave. So Barnes left Cannibal Corpse in 1996 and pursued Six Feet Under (SFU). They replaced Barnes with George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher on vocals and that year released Vile, the very first album with George on vocals not Chris. Some say that with Barnes leaving the band became more active and more popular but that is yet to be actually proven. The follow up album in 1998, Gallery of Suicide has become one of the band's most graphic and violent albums to date. In 1999 just a year after the release of Gallery of Suicide they came back somewhat light with Bloodthirst compared to Vile and Gallery. In 2000 the band played a live concert and recorded that as their first live album with DVD. They titled it Live Cannibalism with some of their most memorable tracks. After the tour the band went through a few disputes over legal rights including guitarists. The band reformed in late 2001 to begin recording their new album but the hostility was still there. Gore Obsessed release in 2002 failed to meet a lot of fan expectations for it being a bit softer than their older stuff. That same year to end some of the disapprovals of Gore Obsessed the band released Worm Infested a 6 track EP filled with nothing but rare never-released tracks, but even that did not quiet the fan's disapprovals. So finally in 2003 the band made it up with the release of 15 Year Killing Spree. A 4 disc CD/DVD box set filled with nothing but the best of the best with 2 full length discs of their best stuff, a never before release demo tape completely written by Barnes back in 1989, and a DVD of live performances and life never before seen footage. Also that same year release one of their most memorable and most artistically written albums by Corpsegrinder to date simply titled, The Wretched Spawn. With that release the band took some time to tour before returning to the studio to conjure up a new album. Finally in late '04/early '05 the band did return the studio to record again. Their final product was released in 2006 simply titled KILL. To the fans surprise the album lacked backing lyrical content and has been called "Cannibal Corpse's biggest pile of s**t to date". To the fans the album sounded too mainstream and lacked the gruesome lyrical content that the previous albums had. Also on a side note, outside the US no country carries the original uncensored versions of Eaten Back To Life, Butchered at Birth, or Tomb of the Mutilated. They are all required to carry clean versions because of the graphic lyrical content on the albums.

It's okay most don't even know his name just refer to him as Corpsegrinder.
