Here he was again.
It had been a fairly long time since Jamala had stepped paw into these lands, having seen the northern areas, the main savannah, talked to a Cheetah; although in hindsight she definitally was helpful at finding him a sound 'body' to hide in, and he even seen his sister! (For better or worse...) but he hadn't banked not having returned here after so long.

Standing at the outskirts of the jungle once more, the wind tussled the extent of his mane-to-be, and ruffled his feathers - extra little carrion feathers finally sighing their last on his wings and taking to the wind around him - as they had many, many times since he had become created. It seemed like so far ago he had finally met his first true mortal friend - or that's how it had felt - so far ago when they were just wee cubs, talking about the grass. Or were they talking about the jungle.. the sands.. the heat? It was somewhat foggy in his mind now - having gone from such a small height, to such a large body and seeing the world and meeting so many as he went.

Well, whatever, it wasn't going to bring the past back.

So, with a soft huff, he just thought more about his cubdome, and when they had parted so abruptly, he swore he had seen her walk into this exact place - but what had he to know, he had just found mortals. Maybe she fell in a hole. A gruff chuckle accidentally broke the silence as the teenaged god imagined the scene, and then did what only there after would come to mind.

He hummed a soft tune.

Somehow, fate was on her side for once. Pushing every muslcle in her body to move quicker, she'd taken herself through the jungle she knew so well, reaching its edge in good time. This was.. where she had lost him, right? The spot where they had been separated as cubs? It had to have been. Ducking through the underbrush, now much larger than she was when she had done so years ago, her eyes squinted against the bright sun.

..The desert. Once a topic of discussion between her and Jamala, and now recently her mother as well, Ekevu looked onto the barren sands with a slight disdain in her face. These sands had brought her mother and father to the jungle, had brought Jamala.. and taken him again when he took his leave. Frowning slightly, she pawed around in the dry grasses, remembering meeting the god as a cub.

And then, plain as day, there he was among the sand. Blinking in confusion at the spot of black, Ekevu watched for a moment, making sure that she wasn't seeing things. It seemed likely that she was, actually. Really, what were the odds of finding the friend she needed to see in the exact spot she'd met him? Not very likely, if you reasoned it out. Still.. could this really be the Jamala she'd met as a cub?

"..Jamala?"

Upon hearing his name, the humming stopped short. He knew that only a few knew his name, and the other two were no where near to where he was, so it had to be the only other option - which seemed so .. ironic. For lack of better words. It just seemed so.. out of the blue for her to be around, and so he did the only thing that came time mind, and decided to turn his head to see if he was just hearing things in the wind, along with his hums.

With his blue eye, he peered over his wing, curiousity and youthful worry deep within - half of him wished she was really behind him, he did miss the intellectual whelplet that he had originally met, whilst the other idly complained to the wind, telling it not to be such a mean thing. And upon gazing, he caught the sight of the blue lionness that he was hoping for.

It took a few seconds for his mind to reel back into action upon seeing her, he had sort of expected the cub he accidentally left behind ages before - but instead stood another the same age as he, and when he started to think again, his fur fussed up a bit and wings lifted, as he finally got the nerve to atleast speak.

"E-Ekevu! Is that YOU? ..... Did you fall into a HOLE back then?! I was so worried!" was the sudden rush of words, as he turned around, on all fours again and worry just knit in his features.

It WAS him! Flesh and blood, it really was her old god friend! Her mind hadn't betrayed her! Quickly rushing forward to stand in front of him, Ekevu took a moment to just smile and nod. Somehow, without her notice, some tears had welled up int the corners of her eyes.

"...I thought you'd left, Jamala.. and that I'd never see you again.." she murmured quietly, smile fading to a slight frown. He had been her first, and honestly, only friend... and left. It'd made her a bit colder to trust over the passed time. Losing your first friend wasn't something that reflected well on a character.

"..I'm sorry for worrying you so much, Jamala. I.. went back to look for you, but you were gone.." Ekevu said, looking up to catch his bi-colored eyes with her hardened red ones. Somehow, they'd lost the bright and optimistic look they'd had in her childhood.

"..And no matter how many times I went back, you weren't there.."

Being the ever so sensitive one that he was, his head lowered a bit as he caught her red eyes, showing that he knew what had happened and he was truely sorry for it. Flickering his tail, he broke the gaze momentarily, looking out into the desert.

"I had followed you in, but I guess we took different ways - I thought you fell into a hole and scored whatever I could of the outskirts. I was.. ah.. a bit afraid of the jungle, it was too.. thick for me back then. Was kind of scary alone, you know? I stayed for a day and then when nothing came back out that resembled you I left. I'm sorry."he stated honestly, eyes flickering from her and then away. It was odd - feeling shame for one of the first times. Giving a very honest cough, he looked out once more. "But I am glad that you look well - I had worried that something may have happened when I was out and about. But don't feel sorry - you can't help the fact - I'm made from loyalty, so.. I'm loyal to a fault." a strained chuckle accompanied that as he shrugged.

Kowing that he had hurt his only friend without even being there, he frowned a bit, sighing. "After I had lost my first friend, I didn't know what to do, so I started to travel, I wanted to learn all I ever could so I could come back one day and tell her what I found. So she'd forgive me for losing her." he stated, as a matter of factly, before finally looking to her again.

Listening to his honesty and sadness, Ekevu nodded gently at his words. It seemed fair enough; they'd been separated, gone their own ways, and lived their own lives. It was the way the world worked, after all. You couldn't dwell on the mistakes of the past forever, as much as she had. Now, it seemed, was a sign telling her to move on.

"I understand, Jamala. That sort of thing.. isn't your fault, at all, and must be intimidating. Even I, born and raised in the lush of the jungles," she teased gently, brightening up a bit in tone, "feared the trees as a little girl. Quite dangerous things, you know."

Standing from her sitting position, Ekevu strolled around the sitting form of Jamala, she eyed him carefully, looking over him entirely now. He'd grown into those beautiful wings of his, something she'd always secretly envied. To fly, and be a god.. despite her original beliefs, analyzing it more and more as she'd grown. Oh, she'd kill to be able to fly as he did! Smirking softly, she sat next to Jamala, looking over to him playfully.

"Well, I suppose she'd be able to forgive you, if you told her exactly what you'd seen. With details, of course, and a little spice to it."

Looking down to his refound friend as she circled around him, he raised an eyebrow at her answer and followed her before she finally sat down, giving a nod and fixing his wings into a much more comfier position, before finding a worthy answer to start this reuniting. "The trees are rather frightening at times, I nearly got squished by a few." he stated, before giggling at his answer ".. falling ones that is." he recovered with, shaking his head as he looked over her once over with his mismatched eyes, before giving a genuine smile - happy to see she was atleast light hearted once again.

"Of course. I saw many things out there, a lot of them just made me curiouser and curiouser. I've seen a land where the lions are all tattooed, sort of like my tail, but they're not born that way." he began, rolling back into his memories. "I didn't get to meet many of them, but it was so different fromthis area, so just seeing it with my eyes was well enough for now. Maybe one day I'll find one to askmore about. But I did meet my sister on the way." he paused, with an eyebrow raised once more, his maw sort of crooked. "It was an interesting meeting, in place and well... it just happened. She hasn't changed much - same old Kosa, with her sinful mind. But alas, I cannot help it. She seemed troubled though.. I'm not sure why. But.. never the less. It wasn't as exciting as most of my tales - it was just nice to see my sister. I did meet a cheetah recently - in hindsight I think she wanted to hit on me, but I may have been too small for her tastes..." he continued, shaking his head in amusement. "But in the end she helped me unravel many knots on my mind, and I found a rather nice mortal look to hide in, so I'm not always sticking out like such a sore thumb." he finished, twitching his wings in emphasis.

"It was a nice journey, to say the least."

"Mhmm, terribly frightening. Those killer trees, you know." She purred, settling in to listen to his story. Well, it was good to see him again, even if he had more to tell than she did. That was the way life worked when you lived in the jungle, she supposed.

Her eyes closed gently as she listened to his words, trying to imagine the words in pictures. Lions with tattooes they made themselves... a new world she'd never seen.... his sister? Ekevu frowned slightly at the thought, not remembering if he'd told her or not. And her domain was sin, it would seem.

At the comment of being hit on, Ekevu snickered lightly, trying to keep Jamala from hearing if at all possible. He definately didn't seem to be the type anyone would take a keen interest on, at first glance. The funny part, really, was that someone would FLIRT with him. Settling herself, Ekevu listened once more, eyes flashing open at the mention of a mortal look. She glanced over to Jamala, blinking.

"You can hide your wings now, then? I'd never imagined that." She said gently, trying to imagine a Jamala without wings. A soft mumble of prodigious followed, as well as her usual sarcastic smirk.

"Okay, god boy, let's see what your journey taught you. I want to see a Jamala without wings."

A soft chuckle couldn't help but work it's way out when he heard her personal comments about what he had seen and done, and then some - killer trees indeed. Flickering his tail softly, eyes watching her as she mused over herself in her mind before finally talking once more, he could tell whatever was to come was going to be either an intellectual finding or something that would drive to the intellectual finding that she was looking for.

When she finally admitted to wishing to view the form in which he had taken for mortal observation (In which he meant observing as an immortal without having to be pestered about his wings and whatnot...) he decided to willingly change - she was his first friend, and one of thoe who had gotten closer to him than any other.

"Sure, why not." Was all that came to him, though, before folding back into his mind. It wasn't as hard to do as when he first tried back when he met ... what's her name.. but he still needed to concentrate when he transformed, or else.. things.. happened that he never liked. Pink. Ick.

When he finally opened his eyes again, they were both a blue hue that normally only one eye kept, and his pelt, once again, was a pearl white colour, with the exception of his tail, which shifted from white markings on black, to black on white. The markings, however confusing they were, were his favoured part. Hidden deep within his magic, he still felt the weight of his charms and wings, but to anyone else he'd just be a white lion. Turning to Ekevu, he gave a youthful grin, now in his 'mortal pelt'.

"So, how do I look?"

She was honestly stricken silent by the sight; glancing over Mala, it took Kev a minute or two to recollect her thoughts on the situation, remembering that she needed to respond, in the first place. Blinking slightly and shaking her head, she quickly put on a fake sneer, trailing around Mala in a critical manner. Up.. down.. no mater what angle she looked at the young god from, he only seemed to look completely mortal, red eye gone and wings missing. Finishing her patrol around the godling, she sat in front of her friend, shrugging ever-so-lightly.

"It'll do, I suppose." She said lightly, not willing to admit the fact she found him stunning. Everything he seemed to do, she thought absent-mindedly, had this way of turning out perfectly. And it was only fair that way, she supposed; he was a god, after all. Letting the smile return to her maw, she laughed gently.

"Though, I must admit, Mala, it's odd seeing you in.. white. I'm so used to black, with your markings, and.. it's all gone. Such a radical change."

But.. in a way, it almost could be said to fit him better. Though Mala was certainly black in color, Ekevu liked to think it was merely a mirage, hiding the pure, white soul that lay within. Mala was good; that was one definite in her life, that would remain true, no matter what happened. And now, there was no worry on traveling in groups; he could simply be disguised as his mortal, beautiful self. And she could adjust to the wingless Mala; it would take time, but she could have him unfurl the wings every so often, and he WAS still her friend. ..And, admittedly, still beautiful. Shaking the thoughts from her mind, she drew a fake jeer.

"Though not quite as good as me, I still think."
