Her belly was swollen with cubs. It was clearly visible and even the dumbest creature on the savannah could tell that she was carrying. She could walk, but it was a pain, and running was out of the question- right along with training and hunting. Her fine-tuned muscles were getting... flabby. And she was getting overly fat- another thing besides the hormones to increase her agitation.
"WHELP!" She called sharply. "I'm hungry, either give me your food or go catch me something new!" she said, not even getting up from her laying down position. She was, however, propped up on her elbow to help project her cold voice.

Sniff Sniff Sniff
Ryega moved around seeking out that scent of hers but what he found was something much stronger, but it was hers. He moved about with nimble feet, his walk was much more bold and able to do so without slowing down, but there were those occassions where he would purposely slow down his paws and hit something to learn to step over it carefully.
His nose moved into view, sniffing.
"Yeah, Sukari?"
He took another step to show her the headless rabbit that he had been eating when she had called. He had found some times to hunt for himself, usually after he gotten food for her and Jani. In the past few weeks, it seemed that she had acted much more agitated and much more hungry. Where was Jani? For whatever reason, he felt nothing but mutual understanding for the male. He loved someone close to him, he didn't do anything to Ryega, hell he had tried to push him out of Sukari's train of thought though it be for his own attention but that saved the pup from another hunt or task.
Ryega carefully placed down the rabbit and sniffed around.
"Sukari, where's Jani?"

"That's for me to know," Sukari replied. Jani was out trying to get the hang of walking on the ground, something she had encouraged him to do. He was going to be a father of cubs that would probably be able to move fast on land, and he'd need to be able to keep up. However, it would be embarassing to him if the pup knew, and she wouldn't have told him anyway.
She was glad that the whelp was respectful to Jani- although Jani was too soft about the subject sometimes. The pup had to be taught absolute respect; and he had to be taught that should he fail to serve her as she wished, bad things would happen. "Thank the gods, you've brought food," Sukari said reaching out for the rabbit.

Ryega scoffed and sat himself down and sniffs around.
"I am stepping out of line, what's wrong with you? You've been acting different a couple of days after Jani came back with you. You smell different, you act strange and a lot meaner."
Though without sight, he still had a strong senses of the others remaining. Jani was a lot nicer to him than Sukari. Ryega sort of wanted to be his friend or at least someone to be able to talk to. But Sukari always had something for him to do so the two can have some time alone. Though, that would leave Ryega to hunt and just sleep for some time. He was getting bigger and stronger, his abilities to live with his blindness.

"What makes you think you can speak to me that way?" She demanded. "Isn't it obvious to you!?" She cried. Oh yeah, whelp is blind, she remembered. She always forgot that he was blind.
"It's the smell of pregnancy, you moron," she spat. "I'm going to have cubs, hence the not moving part?" She said moodily, taking a bite out of the rabbit's side. She muttered something sarcastic, but it was impossible to make it out due to the mouthful of flesh she had.

"Pragnant? Cubs? What!? Does Jani know about this?"
He jerked his head around in Sukari's direction with an expression of shock and amazement. She was pregnant? That meant there would be cubs around here.... is he gonna have to watch after them or are they gonna leave him? This may be his chance to escape this place.... finally, free to go back home.
"I can talk to you anyway I want to.You may have taken me away from my family, but you won't make me bend to your orders. I only do the things I do because I want to or in some cases, more fo Jani than you. So you just be quiet and be happy that I am actually doing this. Hurt me all you want, I don't really care."

"Of course Jani knows about this!" Sukari yelled, getting up and discarding about a quarter of the rabbit. Her mind was set on a more juicy target- the whelp. She rose slower than normal, but rose nonetheless in a silken manner.
"You see, the thing is, you can't talk to me however you wish. I may be pregnant, but I could still take you out," she said angrily. She was more angry that he had the nerve to do things for Jani- she was the one in charge!
She raised a paw and brought it down, aiming for Ryega's face. Perhaps a lesson would be learned from this. Her muscles ached from lack of use since that day with Jani, it felt good to be moving them again. She was certain it would feel good once it struck resistance as well.

Ryega heard a growl, she was mad, a crunch, she was moving the grass gave under her, then silence, she stopped? Quickly something hit him, an instinct. Quickly he bent down when something hard hit him against the back of his neck. Sharp, pains shot through his body as he howled out in pain, agonizing pain.
Quickly as he could, he slipped out from under her and moved a bit of ways to sniff at her. The scent of his blood was starting to interfer with his sensing abilities. He was gonna die if he let this continue.
"Stupid..... you're damn nothing without me, Sukari! Nothing! You are pregnant, you can hardly move let alone hunt. Jani can't walk upon the ground yet, but he can hunt if he was in trees. You need me! Don't you dare say to respect you, you kidnapped me from my father! You have no disregard for anyone but for yourself! If I am still around when your cubs are born, I will see to it that Jani has a better influence than you. At least he doesn't hurt me!"

Yes... Sukari thought with a smirk as she felt that resistance she longed for. The whelp's red fur under her... and that pleasant release when the blow was through. How she missed the feeling- it sent shivers down her spine as the pup ranted on about who cared what. If she wanted, maybe she could hit him again to shut him up.
"Let me tell you something, whelp. To survive, you have to care about yourself. You care about nobody else until you're strong enough to beat anyone and everyone down. Then, and only then can you begin to care about others. I'm on the verge- the breaking point. I can go either way, and these cubs in my belly are pushing me to be even stronger. Ask the average pregnant lioness to deal a blow that painful- see if they can do it. As for you, whelp, you better worry about yourself, because you're still nothing but a weak pup," she finished, holding her head high, feeling accomplished in a sick way. (A pleasant way to Sukari, however.) She swiveled to walk away, then paused, and sat as quietly as she could to see what he'd do. A foolish mistake would warrant another harsh blow.

"Heh, strength.... you have no power over me, Sukari. One day.... when you are wounded on the ground seeking mercy from me to save you. I'll just smirk and leave. Don't say it'll never happen, it will. Expect the unexpected, especially when a pack of wild dogs come chasing you down, Jani, and those cubs. You'll see what happens. Everything comes a full-circle."
He growled but still had his dignity. He sat there, head high and tail up. He didn't care about Sukari anymore, he didn't fear her too much, he was getting stronger, not in her sense but in his own. He was much more stronger than he was, he could hunt know and actually do things with his blindness. He'll become physcially stronger and then she will regret having crossed him. He rubbed the back of his neck. ......damn....
"You best go find Jani, feline. If it weren't for him, I would have already ran off during one of my hunts. I can surely out run a pregnant female. As for Jani.... would he chase me? He'd have you all to himself, he still is not suited for the ground. Just be happy that I am around."

"Mmm-hmm," said Sukari sarcastically as she walked off, seeming to ignore the pup's words.
However... the aspect of her cubs being harmed nagged at her mind. She didn't care if the mutt ran off. Fine, she wouldn't be happy about it, but she wouldn't mourn his loss either. Her cubs however... They weren't even born yet and she felt protective of them. How could her mother have felt so coldly towards her litter? It filled Sukari with more anger and more hate- Her mother was the everlasting flame of Sukari's personality. She couldn't imagine what she'd do if something were to happen to her cubs. Ryega, being a threat? His words haunted her, though she wouldn't allow it to show. She gazed at her bulging belly, then glanced at the wounded red thing. She smirked at having hurt it.
