Edward wants to marry Bella before she becomes a vampire, right? So I've been thinking...
What if he hopes to make her stay human by becoming her husband? Edward's thinking is old-fashioned (come on, he grew up in the 1910s!) so what if he tries the whole you-have-to-obey-me crap on her, so that she won't go vampire? Sure, she can get angry and run to Alice, but what if she listens? After all, Edward can be very persuasive.
But I mostly think he wants her to have all a human can have before he ends her mortal life. Which would also explain why he wanted to wait so long before turning her. He wants to give her everything he never got to experience when he was alive.
Sooo.... yeah. Post your opinions for the marriage-first vampire-later thing!

hmm...personally i don't think Bella and Edward are going to marry before she is turned into a vampire, and I don't think Edward would ever do that to her if they were to get married. i do agree with you about Edward wanting Bella to experience everything that he didn't get to do...but that is not harmful to her health.

Yeah, I agree too. He said himself that she should experience life and mentioned that she should go to college. But then again the Volturri are going to be after her so it's a matter of life and death. I personally hope she gets bitten!! Eternal Love!! biggrin

I think she'll probably be bitten in Eclipse. Since she's always in intense danger in the end of the book, I think she'll get hurt so bad he'll have to change her or let her die. But that's just me.

I doubt he would do that, but I am sort of surprised that he doesnt have more of those values in him from way back when.

Bella will get bitten by the time she is 19, be it that in Eclipse or the book thereafter. lol
If Edward doesn't do it, I'm sure she'd force Carlisle too. >_<"
Edward may be persuasive, but~ if I want something bad enough NO ONE can persuade me other wise.
It is possible Edward would do that, but not likely.

I can understand Edward waiting to turn Bella, but I think after a while he's going to start seeing her point, and not wanting to lose her, he will turn her. sweatdrop I dunno, it might seem really selfish because if Bella really does go out and live her life the way Edward wants her too, she might find something else (like she did with Jacob in New Moon), but also like in New Moon, Edward isn't going to want to let her go.
Another thought is that Bella will find a way to convince Edward that he does still have a soul, and she wouldn't be losing hers when he turned her.

I honestly think that, as much as Edward doesn't want to, he will change her before the marriage. Because
1. The Volturri are after her now
2. She wants to stay with him forever.
And I understand that Edqward wants her to have as much of a human life that she can but, she doesn't want that anymore. She only wants to be with Edward.

Well, there seems to be talk of Vampire and Werewolves at war...bonds are broken. Life is at risk.
It seems like Bella will turn before thoughts of marriage...
But I can't seem to imagine Bella being graceful. x'D
