Ligeia was sitting outside of the D-corp building his hands out in front of him and he was working on his spell, there was still so much to do with it, so much to learn from it and about it. He wanted to he able to make something more then just those ice spines. Other shapes, other uses was what he was currently trying to do.
An overly pretty owl child doing slightly flashy at times magic sitting with a large blue dragon that was sheilding Geia from the sun with its wing... definately something that would draw attention.

It had taken him a lot longer than usual to reach his goal. For the entire day, he had trailed along behind Kenneth - his arm held in a firm grip, and his figure under secure watch. They would go through a string of dull happenings. Kenneth went out, picked up a few books - they had something to eat - then just seeming wandering, as if he had been intending to do something, but did not remember exactly what. All the while, Max had been glued to his side through an unwilling force. He could only imagine that it had something to do with the mistakes he had made several times over. It wasn't his fault, though! He would dive for the floor and slide - then something would appear in his way. Was it not the fault of the people who placed objects on slippery floors? How was he at consequence for just trying to have some fun?
His world suffered as the consequence of inconvenient composition. Kenneth had grown controlling enough that Max could feel the pressure weighing him down. It was with that pretext that he had devised a usual plan to runaway as soon as he got the chance. It seemed to work well too! He would wait with the patience of a scavenger, and then he would escape when the gateway to freedom opened. In the case of the day, it had opened through almost casual circumstances. Kenneth fell asleep.
With that, Max had left. The door had been easy enough to open - and rushing off had been even easier. Pride swelling within him over his deeds, he had marched outside. His wild hair had flittered as he shook his head in excitement; his tail had slapped at the ground, the colorful pool rings making clanking noises. Freedom. Air. Nothing was going to stand in his way.
Laughing about his new found power, the young otter had taken a few strides. His eyes had shut. His head had been held high; a marching tune had been hummed under his breath as he continued along his way to adventure. It was not until he tripped over his own feet and fell to the ground that he opened his mouth and let out an audible source of noise. "OW!" He had yelped, wincing and shifting about to tend to his suddenly aching figure. Almost instantly, his eyes had opened. They had been fixated on his fuzzy knees - partially covered by the red swim trunks he wore consistently - and on his hands, which tended to the pain dutifully. It was during such activity that he caught the first glimpse of the stranger of whose species he could never hope to identify without questioning and research; and of the dragon that accompanied such a stranger. His mouth had opened. A searing pain had cut through him once again before finally subsiding as he stood up and brushed himself off. Once more his attention had returned to the two figures. With the same curiosity he exhibited for most strange things, he had approached, though he had not dared to speak for fear of ruining some magical deed.

Ligeia was lost in his spell, watching it, manipulating it, working on making something other then the normal spines of ice that he had been shown how to do by his teacher as such he didn't notice the other child as he appeared. Vorel though did, his form gave a twitch as the sound of the boy's 'ow' which caused blue eyes to open. He lifted up his head from where it was laying to turn it in that direction.
"Ai aoretao cai." He told Ligeia who finally lifted his dark eye from what he was doing to look up.
"Ahh. So I see. Hello there." He greeted the newcomer and allowed the magic in his hands to slowly die down. He hadn't done to bad he was able to shape it into other things though it did take a bit more concentration, "What do you think?" He held up a rose made of ice, it wasn't bad looking though it wasn't nearly as intimidating as the spines had been. Then again... Ligeia wasn't very intimidating either...

The greeting had been vague and outside of traditional boundaries. A hello, a question - a general kindness unlike the abrupt greetings he had received a few times. There had been no inquiry as to who he was, or what he was doing. Such a thing was pleasant for Max. In that respect, he had smiled.
The young boy's own personality neglected such a treatment towards others, though. He was peculiar and curious - interested in learning provided the teacher were interesting. Very few times had he seen a Dragon. Very few - and it filled him with remarkable amazement to gaze upon one. With wide-eyes he had scrutinized the two individuals; then with an ajar mouth he had chosen to lay comment to the statements settled before him. "How'd you do that?" He asked powerfully as he observed the rose of ice.

Ligeia looked down at the rose in his hand before holding it out to Vorel who lowered his head down and took it from him, munching on the ice flower, "Magic." He said, smiling some hoping that the boy would in fact believe him and not think that he didn't want to explain what he had done, "Working on making other shapes with it then just the spines I was shown how to do." He wanted to be able to do lots of different things with his power so he would take it step by step.
Vorel watched the new boy as he finished and swallowed the frozen rose, nothing better then icy treats, especially neat shaped ones.

Max's eyes had seemed to grow wider at the mention of magic - as if he fully comprehended the idea and its vitality. His mouth had dropped, displaying the conic-like teeth of which were so cleanly settled into his mouth. Brushing a hand through his disheveled hair, he had began to smile crookedly and enthusiastically. "You can do magic?" He had exclaimed - excitement taking hold of his better judgment. "That's cool! Way cooler than what Kenneth does - all he does is read." Max had wriggled his nose a little to display his disdain for the idea.
"Sometimes he reads cool stuff, but, most of the time, it's really boring and it doesn't make sense. What you did was way cooler."
At once, his tail had hammered the ground - creating the clacking noise as the colorful pool rings collided with the hard surface. With some hesitation, he had given Vorel a glance - as if to look the figure over with increasing scrutinization and curiosity.

Ligeia laughed, "I actually have to do that a lot too, so many things about magic are written down so they make up huge tomes." He said holding his hands apart as if to show how thick the book were, a slight exageration but none the less they were huge books, "Its worth it though, some interesting things in those sorts of books." He was a bit curious though about what Max's father read about that was 'really boring' to his son.
The sound of the rings tapping against the ground caught Ligeia's attention as did the colors, "Those are pretty." He said, complimenting the boy's accesories.

Max's nose had seemed to wriggle in distaste over the sheer idea of having to read enormous books. He supposed if they had pictures and allowed him to do cool things ... No. Even then the reading would never be distinctly decent! The only appropriate story was one of the sea and its tales. The lost cities. The ravaging monsters. The brave heroes who conquered and led the world to triumph! Those were stories worth reading - and those stories often had pictures!
Shrugging it off, Max had tossed his head about, ruffling his strangely patterned hair. "It's still cool ... Do you really... H-half-hald..." His voice had seemed to jitter, until a flurry had spit out due to excitement. "Doyoureallyhavetareadalotandstufftodothat?" He had exclaimed, calming down and clicking his rings again. "Can you do it again?" His eyes had seemed to twinkle, though it was captured by the mention of his rings. Calmly, he had looked at them. His smile had seemed to grow wild and untamed. "Red. Favorite." He had sputtered out before turning away.
His eyes had suddenly seemed to lock on Vorel - as if he were as bewildered by the creature as he were the magical occurrence. "What's that?" He had asked ignorantly. His feet had seemed to shuffle along the ground as he stood on his tip-toes, eyeballing the figure.

Ligeia couldn't help but giggle a little, "I don't know if reading all the books that I do is required, probably not. I read them because I want too." He'd never gotten any sort of reading list from either of his magic teachers instead had just went searching during his own free time, "The practice is what is most important."
"I could do it again yes." He said, he was out here to pratice so demonstrating for someone was the same thing as pratice. Though before he could think to start the spell again he watched the way that Max was now watching Vorel.
The Frost Dragon starred down at the child that stood before him before giving a smile and a soft snort of cool fog that drifted out around them.
"That is Vorel, hes my dragon." Ligeia said, sounding quite proud.

All the while, Max's attention had seemed split in several directions. His thoughts had swirled about books - books without pictures with letters he could scarcely recognize or piece together. Magic. The strange thing he had accidentally witnessed. The dragon - much larger than he himself, and quite strange to the eyes.
Max had become a juggling artist - but the act had drawn him into silence. Then a soft, cool snort had seemed to jar him from his bewilderment. He had shivered instinctively, shoving up his shoulders and visibly twitching away the ephemeral cold.
"Your dra-gone?" Max had spoken slowly. Each portion of the words had seemed thrust outward enthusiastically. The young otter had become a ridiculous being, the obvious look of worship and admiration gleaming within his face. "Cool!" His voice had piped. Without another sound, he had bounced from foot to foot before dashing from side to side to observe Vorel closely. "Can I touch 'im? What's he do? I-i-is he like ... " What had been the name of that myth Kenneth had told him about? That godly dragon. "Does he eat people?"

"Sure, you can pet him Vorel likes that." He said then pushed up to his feet so he could get closer to his dragon, "And what does he do? Lets see here... he can fly, he can freeze things, he can say names though he can't talk aside from in Draconic yet." Though if he were going to speak anything else he'd not shown the signs of it.
Ligeia's eyes went wide at his next question and he was quickly shaking his head, after what had happened with Fleur being afraid of Vorel he didn't want for anyone else to be, "No, no. He eats... other stuff but not humans, no D-Corpers either." He added that in since Max, himself, and the others weren't exactly humans.
Vorel watched as the boy in front of him seemed to be dancing around and his long tail set to swishing in amusement, this kid was fun.

The young boy had not seemed to pause for a moment as he hopped from side to side, his giddy nature taking swing as he was further pumped with excitement. The grin on his face seemed to consume it, his eyes wide with eagerness and curiosity. Even his voice seemed to be filled with that jumpiness; his mind was a composite of endless questions, surrounded by nothingness - just the casualness of seeing something rather new and exciting. "Really he can talk?" Max had inquired, giving Legeia a puzzled look.
Some time after completing his observations, Max had managed to hold out a hand to try and touch Vorel's head. His fingers had seemed to wiggle as he stood on his tip toes, seemingly trying to grow taller than he truly was. The smile on his face had seemed to change to something else - that questioning and wired nature continuously shining through with the altering expressions. "Good! He won't eat Pie or me." A firm nod had been given as if he were distinctly pleased with the information of the dragon not eating humans ... Or D-Corpers.
"Pie says some dragons are Gods and make rivers. Does do that too?" Max's fingers had seemed to wriggle more as he continued to try and pat Vorel's head. His tail had seemed to begin swishing, the rings melodiously clacking as they touched the ground. "Do you?" He had suddenly piped at Vorel, as if expecting the dragon to answer him directly. "Rivers are fun. I've never seen one, but I've seen pictures. Kenne...th... " Max's tongue had seemed to loll out of his mouth as he attempted to recite the name. Kenneth's name seemed so tricky to say. That was why he stuck to the basics. Pie was a perfect name for the man, as he had so decided! "Pie doesn't like them. I don't think he can swim. He'd learn, but he won't stop reading, and writing, and sleeping, and eating - and we go out and he won't let me slide on the floor or anything. No fun."
Max's voice had seemed to trail off as the words became harder and harder to say. He had wriggled his nose and whiskers a bit, shaking off the entire thought of Kenneth and his casual mundane habits. "Rivers are fun, though. I wanna see one. Are there any here?"

"In the dragon language he can." He said then looked over to Vorel, "Can you say hello our new friend?"
Vorel had lowered his head to the reaching hands of the smaller boy so that Max could touch him. His scales felt cool to the touch and had a similar texture to glass. All of him was the same, smooth feel aside from a section along his head and neck where his mane felt softer, "Hello New Friend." Vorel said simply in draconic, enjoying the petting to much to be bothered with lots of words.
Ligeia giggled then turned back to the many questions presented to him, "No, I can't say that he is a God or that he can make rivers, he had a class where he was supposed to work on freezing one of them and a waterfall." The owl said, he though on that for a moment then nodded, "I still have access to that classroom and it does have a river, its not a real one persay but closest to one we can get here at D-Corp." Then again the classrooms were really realistic so the river would seem pretty real even if it were in a classroom.

The bewilderment had not ended. Max was simply enthralled, enticed. His world had been molded suddenly, shaped around the variety of questions he had in regards to the location and the two strangers he had encountered by chance. It was what he had been silently hoping for; it was something to fill his day and make the minutes pass by quicker.
His hands had quickly moved over Vorel's head when they could, enjoying the smooth and chill feel. A squeak of a laugh had been given where he had felt the softer bit of area, the mane. His eyes had squinted; his fingers had felt away, and the sparkle of his face had simply seemed to glow brighter and brighter. So that was what a dragon felt like ... "Wow. He really can talk." Max had breathed.
"A water...fall?" Max's attention had been shifted once again, divided, split into two separate fascinations. A new plethora of inquiries had seemed to emerge at the idea of a room with a river and a waterfall. He had even seemed to pike at the idea of freezing it. A frozen river ... Would likely make for fantastic sliding. "There's one inside? Really?"
Puckering his mouth a bit, Max had made a popping sound. He had leaned further over Vorel, enjoying the softness of the dragon's mane and the sleek nature of his body. It felt nice. That was all he could think about in direction to it - was how cool it felt, and how he didn't want to forget the texture.
"I'm Max." He had stated at last, as if deciding that his name were of importance.

Ligeia gave a nod, "There are a lot of strange rooms for different skills training, I've seen a room that was full of snow too, there are ones like forests with trees in them, all kinds of neat stuff." D-Corp was an amazing place on the inside and from the outside it just looked like another big building.
"Its very nice to meet you Max, I'm Ligeia Solon." He said.
Vorel had his eyes half shut by now, almost purring under the attention that was getting from the boy. He loved pettings and he was getting plenty from Max, it was a nice feeling. At the mention of the different rooms, two of which he'd had fun playing in he opened his eyes and turned his head slightly to look over at his partner. He wondered if they were going to go play in the rooms again?
