"There's a whooooole new world we live in -!" Biscuit practically shrieked across the meadow as he proceeded forward. Bouncing up and down through the grass in a similar fashion to that of a gazelle. Up and down, up and down - if an individual were to watch him then they might get a little dizzy in the process!

Unsurprisingly, the adult soquili behind him had little difficulty in keeping up but what the soquili - a stallion - did have difficulty with appeared to be having a hard time coping with the singing. The stallion, a wind, was not about to explain to his nephew that he was extremely tone deaf but that didn't mean that he wanted him to sing a great deal either.

...It would be simpler if the newborn would just ask questions like he usually did.

...Except the one about where foals came from, he was slightly too young for that.

Thistle and Tloc were flying around. Well, Thistle was flying and Tloc was stalking. Anyways, the little flutter was not excited to be having his monstrous cousin about. "Go away, Tlocatl!" his shrill voice shreaked in the wind. "I do NOT want you with me!"

The stallion chuckled from behind, "Regardless, our mothers want you to be safe."

The flutter growled, "Safe!? How can I be safe with you??? You always threaten to burn my wings off!"

"But I haven't," Tloc thwarted. If Thistle had turned back, he would have seen the 'evil' expression on the stallion's face.

"GAH!" Thistle screamed in frustration when something caught his eye from below. Diving down a bit, he could see what it was. The sun had reflected off the someone. Seeing it as another soquili stallion he dove down completely.

He landed lightly and ran to Gren, not knowing who he was but he was big. Looking back up to the sky, he yelled back to Tlocatl, "There! See! I'm safe, no GO AWAY!"

Tlocatl landed as well. He snorted, glaring at Gren, "Nice try...."

Grencia's reaction would have been questionable to any normal soquili in the sense that it was completely stoic. Clearing his throat, he drew to a halt as both soquili landed and rather gently unfurled his wing to prevent the newborn foal from proceeding any further. He wasn't being intentionally rude but he did not appreciate being glared at when he hadn't done anything wrong.

...Almost reminded him of Yei.

"Wuzzah?" Before the adult had the chance to speak, Biscuit had already stuck his head out around the wing and was eyeing the pair before him. He had always thought Gren's wings were wonky but one of these guys had big leathery ones and the foal...

"UNCLE!" Biscuit gasped, bouncing up and down on the spot as he scooted out from behind the stallion, "He's a booterfly! Does that mean he was a caterpillar as well?" He continued curiously, glancing at the stallion expectantly as said stallion appeared to be musing over a decent answer in his head.

Thistle saw the young head, and grinned. He preferred the company of foals right now... especially with how Tloc and their mothers treated him with little trust. "Nooo..... I'm not a butterfly, I'm a bumble bee!" he joked.

"Thistle, stop it!" Tlocatl growled, his glare turning to the little purple flutter, "You cannot tell everyone you are a bee!"

"I am sick of your attitude!" the flutter whined pathetically, "Go HOME!" He side-stepped away from the whole group. His wings fluttered in aggitation. Only Tloc could get such a reaction from him.

Satisfied, the kalona smirked, "Nah... I rather like it here now..." He smiled sweetly at the feathered wing and wingless ones.

Thistle pouted. He looked beggingly at Gren, and at the colt. "Fine, I will ignore you then!" The flutter threw his head up proudly and went to the colt that had gotten his attention. He pranced over, with an entirely different attitude. Going back to his orginal exclamation, her sniffed the colt and sneezed. "Are you a centipede, all wing-less like?" Thistle grinned, with how the colt bounced about it almost looked like he had many legs.

"I'm not a bug!" Biscuit seemed horrified by the prospect and puffed out his cheeks 'angrily'. It wasn't that he was insulted but it was only now that he was coming to realise he didn't have wings...it made him feel rather funny. "My mommy and daddy didn't have wings, so I dinnae have wings - but me uncle has wings..." He gazed at the vibrant and rather large wingspan of Grencia before wiggling his bob tail thoughtfully.

"And me auntie, Yei...well...me auntie is real nice and she dinnae have wings either!" He pointed out, puffing his chest proudly at the mention of his auntie. Given her age and height, she always seemed so tall and strong, she didn't need wings to acquire respect!

"I be Biscuit by the way...and this is Uncle Grencia...who're ye?"

Thistle shook his head, "I did not mean to offend.... you asked if I was a butterfly, and while I have the wings like such, I am not a bug either....." He opened his mouth again, to say he was actually a bumble bee but as that was a bug, well... that wouldn't work. He liked to tell stories but even he knew when it would be counted as flat-out lying.

Tloc frowned, "Yei...." he said after a paused, and then turned to Gren with a hiss, "Grencia...." Those were the friends of his Mother... and be default his enemies.

Biscuit was almost positive that Thistle was about to say something else but much to his disappointment, his new butterfly-friend didn't. Instead, he seemed to be considering something, a matter of importance perhaps and Biscuit wasn't certain he would fully understand - after all, butterflies were normally very jittery and quiet, he'd seen how they flew!

Nevertheless, he accepted the apology graciously even if he didn't know what 'offence' meant and wagged his bob tail appreciatively. All in all, this one seemed rather pleasant even if he did keep yelling at the odd one with horns - the odd one that seemed to be rather displeased to see Grencia.

Did they know each other?

They did, Grencia would confirm this in a heartbeat as he continued to watch the half-breed mutant coolly. He had little fear for his own well being but he did not appreciate the almost threatening quality of that hiss in relation to Yei. Granted, Yei could probably hold her own against the colt but that still didn't quell the proctective nature of the stallion...especially now that Yei had a new nephew to dote on - a chance she had not had with...

"Tlac." Grencia replied levelly, not so much recognising him from appearance but rather from the aura. It had been the same dark aura that had surrounded that basket.

Thistle was officially ignoring Tloc's existence. So, when Biscuit seemed a little torn with the flutter's personality "issues" he didn't know what to do for reassurance.... so, he did nothing.

"So, Biscuit, what are you two doing out here? Surely not enjoying the thermals of the day... well, not together..." His eyes sparkled kindly. "Or, perhaps, you are out searching for a favorite morsel of food?"

He was used to Nagual's single-minded approach to her berries. So, as these two seemed to know the mare -or maybe just the large winged one- maybe that search continued.

Tloc, however, was not pleased... not pleased at all. When the other stallion obviously knew his name -and who he was at least by association- the kalona flared his nose. His breath was so hot it steamed in the already-warm air. "What are you doing so far from the mountains? And without that firey mare I hear so much about. My Mother seems to like her a lot."

Biscuit appeared completely oblivious to Grencia's declining good mood. As Tloc continued to push the wind's buttons, he was slowly beginning to draw himself to his full height. He wasn't about to attack the kalona, no, the mutant in front of his nephew but all the same - the child would know his place.

"If you refer to Yei, she has a life of her own and duties to attend to." Grencia replied calmly, arching a brow in a rather imperial fashion. All in all, he was not one to sink to the level of a mutant but nor was he prepared to let him insult Yei...What irked him ever so slightly was that this soquili could very well have become a potential nephew to him had things been different.

"Your mother likes her as she is much like a sister to her - she was there when you were born after all, as was I." He purred in a much softer voice.

As for Biscuit, the small foal hadn't heard a word that his uncle had said. To him, it was 'grown up talk' and therefore very boring. Perhaps in the future he would understand, but blissful ignorance suited the life of a foal much more and ensured he was happy - besides, Yei would have Grencia's head if Biscuit became upset...His father would too.

"Oh! Well I wanted to go to the meadows and Mama was busy with my sisters so Grencia took me." The foal replied enthusiastically, giving a shake of his tail as he cast a glance towards his uncle. In comparison to Biscuit, Grencia was positively titanic in size!

Biscuit could have sworn he'd gotten bigger.

"And me Auntie Yei said lotsa foals come to play here so I figures I come an meet some - like you! You know?" He smiled brightly and tossed his mane, clearly delighted that his auntie had been right. "But I am a lil hungry..."

Tloc smirked. Family, the relationship of sisters included, did not mean much of anything to him outside of maybe someone who you can make life miserable for yet they don't chase you away. And then... the bright stallion purred. The kalona's ears perked and he gave Gren a look, "And what are you implying with that statement?"

Thistle giggled and shook himself, some of his wing's powder falling on his face. The colt sneezed and then trotted a little to the side, "Well then, Mr. 'Lil Hungry'.... should we go find you some snacks? What do you like?"

Maybe he could try a 'magic' act? Sanika had shown him a few..... but she did have thumbs.... oh those glorious thumbs!

Biscuit looked rather confused by the question. For a start, the little foal hadn't yet been weaned off his mother's milk so the concept of food completely evaded him. Granted, he was starting to explore more and more without her - he had chaperones to show him new sights but food?

"I dinnae know." He confessed at last, looking somewhat sheepish as he turned round briefly to stare at the rather imposing stallion. Amusing how a foal could be so naive as to interrupt something potentially deadly. And so, it was with a gurgle that he wagged his tail and bounced up and down until the winged stallion turned to look at him inquiringly.

"What's a 'snack'?" Biscuit enquired curiously, canting his head to one side.

"Food." Grencia replied, flicking his gaze towards Thistle for a small time. Granted, Grencia's knowledge of foals was limited but he was old enough to try solids - perhaps Thistle would be a good way of convincing him to try without hurting his pride.

"Can I have some?!"

"Of course." Grencia gave a slight bow of his head and the foal seemed satisfied with that.

"What's ye got?" He asked, turning back to Thistle once more.

Meanwhile, Grencia had returned his attention to Tloc, his gaze level. There was little he could say that would not cause offence in the given situation but alas...The mutant had to realise that Grencia already who knew he was.

"I imply nothing, other than to inform you that I know exactly what you are and have no intentions of underestimating you." He paused briefly and offered a cold smile, "As your uncle, I do have a duty to discipline you after all." He continued, finally landing the blow that would no doubt be received in the most foul of forms.

...Even so, the younger stallion had to learn.

Thistle looked at Biscuit and gauged his age. He appeared to be the age where solid foods. The young colt should probably try young plants... he knew just the thing.

While Biscuit inquired to the stallions, the other colt moved grasses aside and collected the young, very soft and sweet grass underneath.

Tlac eyed biscuit. "Food is something you eat...." He grinned viciously, "...like you!" While the kalona stallion acted like he was going to take a bite of the Biscuit, he didn't move to do so.

Thistle snapped his head and glared at Tlac. "Don't believe him Biscuit, you do eat food but not you." He nodded to the collection he had made, in a basket-like form. He looped it on his short horn and then offered them over. "Try these, they're young and sweet.... and should be soft enough for you."

Biscuit seemed mildly confused by Tlac but one look towards the scathing look on his Uncle's face told him everything - clearly Tlac was being a 'stupid head' in the words of this educated young colt. It should have therefore been no surprise then, when the young colt simply wagged his tail and squeed at the kalona before dutifully bouncing towards Thistle.

A cautious glance, a hesitant sniff.

One little baby step.

And he did it, the little colt gave a whicker and tentatively clamped his lips around the grass that Thistle had presented him. As his teeth crushed through the outer layer though and the strange liquid (and taste) fell onto his tongue though he did pull a face - clearly, while sweet the little one just wasn't used to it.

"S'weird!" He protested, the response a raised brow from his Uncle.

"Persist." The phoenix stallion replied gently, releasing a small chuckle as he nudged the colt towards the grass once more, "It takes a while to adjust."

"Bleh." Was 'grown-up' Biscuit's response.
