Most of us pagans believe in Karma or the Three fold law. But do you think its possible for a person to avoid karma ,good or bad, for a period of time or for a single life time or longer?
I personally believe that it is possible to avoid Karma for either a short period of time or a single life time. You can run away for just a little bit and it will either catch you or you will stop to let it catch you. I also believe that Karma can not be avoided more than a single life time since the souls are evaluated to see weather they will be enlightened or how their life should be when they reincarnate.

i diagree on this point, karma is subtle so i figure it will catch you but you may not realize its got you until much later.

I believe that you can "escape" it, but only until the next life. You know, it depends on when the good/bad thing happens and how severe it was. I don't know really... karma can be complicated.

here's one for you how bout some "instant Karma"
this is something that ive noticed happens a lot, your doing something like a prank or something on a friend and as soon as it happens the effect swings back around and you get karma. like when someone laughs at someone els for getting some leaves in there face then they hit there head on a branch.

Well, It is harder to avoid those situations but if you noticed the branch then you could have avoided it. Or if you sensed the branch was there you could avoid it. It is harder to do those things and the little things like that mostly don't effect your day as much as a larger thing.
Long time karma is much easily avoided because you can kind of predict what will happen so you can avoid the situation.

That happened to a friend at work sort of. He had gotten some food and drinks to go for his fiance and her friend and we was taking sips of their drinks. And I asked him, "why are you drinking their drinks?" and he said, "because I paid for them" and then right as he said that, he was taking a drink of one of them and it spilled all over him. It was pretty funny.

My ex-boyfriend thinks he deserves nothing so he avoids almost all situations where he is going to be happy. I am forcing my care on him though and he is starting to accept it. I'm still worried about him because he doesn't take care of himself very well and he always puts others before himself in any situation.
My other ex-boyfriend did a few bad things to people with spells and he used another spell/ward to temporarily avoid extremely bad situations. He fell in love with me and removed it and his power started diminishing and he wasn't all that happy about it. I am thinking that is partially the reason he broke up with me.

The first guy needs to understand that happyness and sadness are a part of life, and probably the afterlife too. So he can never get away from either. Happiness is inevitable. The second guy...yeah...does he have morals? Sorry but that just seems a little mean. I dated a guy that would say everything is because of will. I was ok with that point of veiw, especially since he thought it was immoral to try and screw with people's minds. But then he tried to manipulate me (not magically, yet) to get me to sleep with him. (I'm afraid to loose my virginity because I don't know what will happen to my power; some say it will be taken, some say that it will get stronger. So I decided to wait until I am at least 22-24; that way I can have a whole lot of experiences in case I loose it.) He was pressuring me for sex so I dumped him and distanced myself from him. I'm glad too, after I broke up with him, he went to the basketball court and started kicking the pole that the basketball basket is on....(I really don't like basketball). Also, I was being stalked constantly by demons and stuff that hated him. So after I brok up with him, they all kinda went away. Two birds with one stone.

I don't really believe in karma, at least not in the traditional sense. I don't believe every good or wrong action comes back to you, I just think generally if you were a good person, good things will happen, or at the very least if you try to be a good person. If you purposefully do the wrong things, and act immorally, etc, then eventually something will catch up to you. Whether in this life or the next.
And I don't really believe there's a way to avoid that.

as for "instant" karma, any time I pretend to be sick to skip school, I actually do get sick. without fail. needless to say, I don't play sick much anymore >_<

You say or pretend something and it comes true. Like last year around this time. I kept having close shaves while driving and I'd say, "Just watch, one day I'm going to get myself into an accident." Well, on March 15 last year, I got into a car crash. >.<' The creepiest thing is it was exactly a month after my birthday. I was born at 8:41. My crash was at night. eek

But the funny thing is he gained morals just for me then dumped me "so he could be better for me". Any guy should understand that if you don't want sex then they should stop pressuring you about it. But I do tend to choose the boyfriends that would die for me.
