It hasn't been decided yet if it will come out in the U.S. Tales of Phantasia, the animation, didn't come out in the U.S. either. Hopefully though it will.

well not officially anyway. Even if it doesn't, there's always at least two people who make fansubs and then upload them to youtube.

Praise the lord for fansubs. otherwise, we may never get to share in the glory that is the OVA of the greatest RPG ever. There's a trailer for the OVA (Though admittedly, not a great one) on www.crunchyroll.com You have to be a member, but it's free.

Taitachi It hasn't been decided yet if it will come out in the U.S. Tales of Phantasia, the animation, didn't come out in the U.S. either. Hopefully though it will. The Tales of Phantasia OVA came out a while ago. Go search for it online, and you'll find at least a few sites selling it. I'm guessing that the ToS OVA will get licensed and come out here. The game is one of, if not the, most well-known in the Tales series in America, so releasing it here would create name recognition, which makes people more likely to buy it. I'd guess, though, that it won't get licensed until all of the episodes have been released (and they'll probably all be put on one disc), since most people won't buy a DVD with only one episode on it. But yes, in the meantime, we all need to be grateful for fansubs.

Well, seeing as the first episodes are being released online, I'm rather confident that the anime will be available at least in that form, if not in an American version. I certainly hope that it is released here, though...
And if it gets to America, I see no reason not to release it in Canada. Besides, its not like it'd be impossible for you to acquire even if it wasn't.

Well, you could use clips from the intro, the two anime cutscenes, the ending, and the first episode of the OVA. That's got to be worth something. And anyways, does anyone know if the next episode is out yet?

I know. *already has those clips and has made a few AMVs with them*
I'm just saying that you get get more action in with the anime, better clips, more expresive AMVs, with longer songs theres no need to repeat clips because its a tad difficult to run out =w=
I also need a DvD to rip the animation on the OVA, thus my wish for one to come out =)
The next episode is due to come out some time in August I beleive.

In AUGUST?!?!?! It'll take that long for one freaking episode? Yeesh, I must have been seriously underestimated the dificulty of obtaining, translating, subbing, and...oh. I see why. (Never really considered it before)
I completely agree on the "get more action in with the anime, better clips, more expresive AMVs, with longer songs" bit. I'm actually making a Kratos guildbanner with a still from Episode One right now.

Thing is I have no means by which to download the clips...I ripped my game clips...from the game...My firend has a ripper. I need a DvD to rip the anime clips.
You also have to remember that this animation is hand drawn.
I've done a hand drawn animation with the highest level of detail I could muster at the time, it's about 30 seconds long and took a whole month =w= They have to draw every tiny, little, insignificant move by hand, and put it together.
It takes awhile...
Then people have to go about buying it, watching it for themselves, ripping in, and subbing it. I don't expect to see the next one until mid september at the least.

Yeah, I see your point. Must have taken absolutely forever... What would be another way to do it, though? Nothing else can really capture that style without looking warped or ridiculous.
That hand-drawn animation sounds neat, what's it about?
