PLEASE DO NOT POST YET!

w00t, I forgot about this subforum!

Originally, Anzer Pex was (and really still is) intended to be the language before all other language here on Earth. My old conlang, Danga, was spawned from many inspirations, one of which was my fictional universe/land/planet Athnamas. Athnamas was the home to my countless unused RP characters. I used to crank out RP characters like nobodies business, but never actually RP'ed with them. Eventually, some of these characters found their way into some short stories and unfinished novels, even some of my English class work back in high school~

I've decided to knock Danga down from its pedestal and give Anzer Pex the high honor of being the divine language of Athnamas. It's also the common language (the divine form is mostly incomprehensible by human faculties). Danga will eventually become the "vulgar Anzer Pex," an almost completely different language that evolved over thousands of years. Much like comparing Old English (Beowulf stuff; Anzer Pex) to modern American English (Danga). The two seem completely unrelated until you get REALLY deep into it all. Most of the characters listed below speak Anzer Pex and possibly an early form of Danga (Xeigrich, Fannich and Omnus speak both), but some, specifically Crait Mark, speak only Danga. Arniet, Shaset and Yemnet are equivalent to what we would call angels, and primarily speak the divine form of Anzer Pex, but can, of course, speak pretty much any other language.

Anyways, you can now read all about Athnamas, its religions, inhabitants, past and future and inevitable fate, and a bunch of other craziness.

And that's just a TASTE~

I'll get around to actually putting stuff up soon. I've got midterm exams and assignments due all through the freaking week, so don't expect anything until the weekend or after gonk Posting random crap about my con junk is a healthy diversion that keeps me from going INSANE.

I've got sooo much information on all this stored away in random .txt files. This thread will fill up fast once I get around to it. burning_eyes

THE POPULATION

Important People

There are many unique individuals who have roamed the land of Athnamas. Here are the most important or otherwise most noteworthy~

Xeigrich
(zee grick)
A soul shifter, or more accurately, a redeemer and avenger for lost souls. Xeigrich has existed since before the Days of Green and Blue, but doesn't come into much importance until during and after the Cataclysm. Xeigrich mainly fights with a sword of variable length, but also sometimes uses the weapon of choice of his current soul form. At one point, Xeigrich unwittingly becomes Lost Form, and spends most of his years as such. This is the Xeigrich most widely known. Xeigrich is probably the single most important being to have ever existed within the vicinity of the entire planet of Athnamas.
Primary Soul Forms: Else, Dega, Mantra, Lost, True

Fannich
(fan ick)
Fannich is, by some preexisting conditions and for all intents and purposes, Xeigrich's elder brother. Fannich spends most of his time living a quiet life in a cabin in the woods, far away from anyone who might be a potential new soul form. Fannich has been a Lost Form as long as anyone can remember. His main weapon is focused friction manipulation (think striking a match, magnified by sheer willpower).

Species and Races

Human
The humans of Athnamas are really no different from your typical Earth human. They speak a different language, though, of course. When Athnamas was yet still fresh and unadulterated, the humans could tap into the magical ether streams which once flowed throughout the land and air. They ruined it for themselves, of course~

Garulkna
Human
The Garulkna were an ancient, autotheistic (self-worshiping) race from before the Days of Green and Blue. They called themselves "Sons of the Cloud" and believed that they were a divine race sent down from the sky to rule over the rest of the world. They were one of the most powerful magic wielders before the End of Magic, and were also responsible for nearly a majority of the damage caused at that time. Eventually, only a lone tower, known from legend and myth as Garuus Tower, is the only remaining symbol of the Garulkna's once impressive power. They wiped themselves out and hey, they had it coming~

Soul Shifter
Humanoid (Not Human)
The main concept of the Soul Shifter is that when an anguished or troubled soul leaves the body at death, it may enter the body of a nearby Soul Shifter. The Soul Shifter will (eventually) transform into a generic likeness of the soul's previous physical form as well as acquire most of its memories and abilities. It is not known where Soul Shifters originated from or how they came to be. They have no known reproductive procedure and are, for a lack of a better word, immortal. A Soul Shifter will simply shift along its queue of souls until he has no souls left within him to redeem or avenge, at which point the Soul Shifter may become True Form and take on his own individual likeness and gain his true power. Normally, a Soul Shifter only shifts when his current soul form's task is complete or upon death, simply shifting to the next-in-line. There have been many documented "exception" cases. Most notable is the Lost Form, in which a Soul Shifter may become locked, in a sense, in one soul form without any trace of the soul's prior memories or abilities. A Lost Form Soul Shifter may forever remain so, or may inexplicably shift forms, the soul of the Lost Form literally lost into the ether. The other notable exception is the Controlled Form, a situation in which the Soul Shifter has the ability to shift souls at will and often choosing not to allow soul forms to complete their tasks so as to maintain a favorable repertoire of useful soul forms. Also, Soul Shifters were never able to directly access the magical ether streams in the old days, but could achieve limited magical contact when occupied by a rather powerful human soul.

Angelics
Humanoid (Not Human)
While not technically angels, the Angelics were winged divine beings who existed since and before the land of Athnamas had formed. They sit halfway between the physical realm and the ethereal realm, and are generally thought to be borne of the magical ether as humans are borne of the the land. There are several different types of Angelics, namely the Metaphim (more than six wings), Seraphim (six wings), Throne (four wings), and Archanim (two wings). The Metaphim were the first born, the first batch, so to speak. They reproduced to create the Seraphim, with one Seraphim per Metaphim couple, and each Metaphim couple bound together for eternity. Similarly, the Seraphim created the Thrones, and the Thrones created the Archanim. Eventually, there will be one or two final Angelics born. The Angelics are rarely seen after the End of Magic. They supposedly still have unfaltering access to the magical ether streams.

RELIGION AND GOVERNMENT

Atheism

From the Days of Green and Blue onwards, the vast majority of Athnamasians are atheist. There's not much to say about this. Religion just isn't something that ever really "caught on."

Mythicism

Mythicism was originally a peaceful religion based on reverence to the Angelics and a greater, unnamed deity believed to rule over the Angelics as their king. The Mythics built monasteries and temples all over Athnamas and spent their time carefully crafting the magic energies around them to aid their fellow Athnamasians.

After the End of Magic, Mythicism became nothing more than an obsessive and secretive cult. The Mythics eventually forsook the Angelics and their deity in favor of a more "down to Athnamas" set of beliefs involving congregation and elaborate threats of miserable after lives for the "unholy ones." The role of Grand Crest, head of the Mythic Society, once admired as a role model's position even by those not of the Mythicism faith, became no more than the hot seat for one scheming vermin after another. Non-Mythics often ridicule modern Mythicism, saying that their motto should be "Corrupt and Convert!"

Hanimeti

Hanimeti is the only true religion actively practiced on Athnamas. It is a polytheistic religion bearing aspects and concepts similar to our own ancient polytheistic religions. There are 5 gods of Hanimeti, each representing specific elements or characteristics. There is Falmus (God of the Sun/Day/Life), Una (God of Moons/Night/Death), Veritus (God of Dawn and Dusk/Health and Sickness), Orta (God of Wisdom/Nature/Fate), and Grenin (God of Living Things and Emotions). Once every three months, the followers of Hanimeti offer mild sacrifices to their Gods: gold for Falmus, silver for Una, copper or bronze for Veritus, edible vegetation for Orta, and an animal for Grenin. There are some factions of the Hanimeti faith who choose to offer sacrifices of human blood or even whole virgins. It was proved during the time of Ishkur's Profound Ephiphany that the Hanimeti gods truly do exist, although not in the forms they are believed by the Hanimeti followers to assume. It was found that these gods were actually either aliens, beings similar to the Angelics, or truly beings of some higher divinity. Hanimeti originated in the northern islands, but has spread to a majority of them, now.

Government

Most parts of Athnamas are ruled by kings who inherit the throne or leaders who are elected to the throne, with some scattered dictatorships and tribal governments. The Angelics and Soul Shifters rule themselves with anarchy.
