Once, when Elle was a small girl, she heard stories about vampires that terrified her, then as she grew older she knew they couldn't really exist.
Come on. Creatures that prey upon humans for their blood, that will turn to dust in the sun? Or whatever it was that they do. Another good point, there's so many stories that how can you tell? In one they go to dust, in another they glimmer like diamonds, and in another the sun is just exceptionally irritating to their eyes. That many stories can't be true.
Now, at 16, she just finds Vampires to be a ghost story from the past, made to explain what nobody else could. Like saying dinosaur bones were dragons. But that new student is a little strange. What person is that pale, that beautiful? Are they a person at all?

Elle tied her dark hair back and looked at herself in the mirror with a sigh. She was "gothed" out and ready for another school year. Droll. She grabbed her things and,bounding down the stairs, she grabbed a piece of bread from the kitchen and booked it to school. She arrived breathless just as the bell rang and people started walking into the building.

Jake made it to his first period class easily, but people still stared at him in awe. He was completely gorgeous and ale; but always tried to ignore what people were talking about when they questioned him over this.
He took a seat at the very back of the room.

Elle wandered the halls aimlessley, hating the first day because she was always late. She could never remember where classrooms were after the summer was over. Finally, only moments after the tardy bell. The teacher looked up. "Not the best impression to be late your first day." Elle rolled her eyes and choose to ignore her, moving to the back amoung a few comments at her dress to sit next to a boy she'd never seen. When she finally took a good look she had to bite her lip to hold in a gasp, he was beautiful.

Jake looked up to see that a girl was looking at him and he stared into her eyes. She was gorgeous and her beauty was unlike anyone's he's ever seen. "Hi, I'm Jake." he smiled at her.

She squeezed her eyes shut and tried to calm down before opening them again and managing a smile back. "Elle." She replied with a nod. A few whispers sprung up and she turned to glare at the noisemakers. What was so bad about Pretty boy and Goth talking? Rolling her eyes she pulled out her notebook and things needed for class.

Elle felt her heart stop for a moment, making it hard to breathe. When she was okay again she nodded and smiled. "I'm not new, just lost easily." She moved some stray hair from her eyes and felt a blush creep up her cheeks.

"Then, maybe I'll see you around here, huh?" he smiled back watching her blush. He moved her fingers away from the stray hair and moved it himself, putting it gently behind her ear.

She nodded, bringing her hand down as she inhaled deeply. Elle bit her lip slightly, trying her best not to blush even more. "Yeah, most deffinately."

Elle took in a breath and closed her eyes, letting the image imprint itself before turning back to the front of the room as well. Absently, she reached into her pocket and checked her phone for the time, and to make sure it was on silent. They wouldn't be out of there for a while, especially since it was the first day. Of course, every class would be routine, going over rules, proceedures, names. That was all the first day ever was anywhere.

Jake would glance over at Elle every so often. There was something about her that fascinated him so much,he had so many overwhelming desires to reach out and touch her soft face. he knew he couldn't, one false move and he could crush her skull to pieces, the last thing he wanted was to hurt people, let alone her.
