So far threw the suikoden series we have a Staff/Tonfa/Dagger that is if you consider Hugo the main character ... /Duel weilding swords/Tri Nunchaku whats next ? well I thank the main character sould use a spear or sythe or something along that area, also I hope the main characters out fit looks more leader type and not flashed like making him look like a girl.

On a more serious note. I think the next hero (I do mean HERO, Not Heroine) should have a pair of pans...dual weilding!!

YES LET US MAKE SUIKODEN MORE GENERIC LIKE EVERY OTHER ARR PEE GEEEEE
I want more martial arts weapons. Get the ******** out of here with your swords, every ******** RPG hero has a sword. I want some Kendo Sticks or pure martial arts. A ******** Judo character would rock, or maybe a Tai Kwon Do character.
Or if we HAVE to go with swords what about a Wooden Sword? Anyone who's watched Outlaw Star knows how awesome those are.

Well, I wouldn't necessarily say that having a sword-weilding main character would make it like any other RPG, as it worked with Geddoe and Chris, but it is a nice break from the Swords Here There And Everywhere in RPGs.
On topic! Cat claws (Raven's weapon, I think) would be fun, and then there's also the modified shakujo that Gojyo has in Saiyuki... that would be fun to fight with. Other weapons...
Sais, scythes, spears, nunchaku and kama would be cool.

The more I think about it, the more awesome a Judo character seems. Think about it. A pretty boy hero flipping giant monsters around like stuffed animals. You can't deny that would be awesome.
