shia-san 'Allister, Valet; where are you?'
Jenna cooed, peering about the den site, searching for the two boys, the two whom were left behind while the others wandered with Tristan. This was no sort of punishment, the two pups left about the den while their siblings jogged and played outside their safety zones, it was just fate of sorts.
They must've been sleeping, or otherwise distancing themselves with their own voyages, that when the time came to go out with their father, they were too far to notice or not coherent enough to care. Jenna figured that because these two were left behind, she'd take them to the river for a drink, and a mini hunting lesson.
Allister pressed his paws against the trunk of a large, burly tree. Arms hung low, and a gown of green showered him, and covered him from the outsiders view. His nose searched the bark, its texture new, foreign; and dove into any curious hole it ran over. This world was still a mystery to the pups born from Jenna's womb, and for the most part they were more then willing to explore it sooner, then later.
His eyes wandered beyond this tree, still pushed against it with all his weight, and snickered at the site.
Squirrels. And lots of them; all wandering, scampering, stealing acorns from the ground and dashing across the leaves to their other nuts, where the stash would grow. Their quick movement tempted him, but he denied--his mothers voice rang out, and called to him and his brother...
Where was Valet anyways?

The small male had originally begun his journey by following his older brother, trailing loyally at his heels. But somewhere along the line, Valet had gotten separated from his sibling and had found himself completely lost in a strange place. Well, perhaps not so strange, as it was probably somewhere close to the den, but he had certainly never laid eyes on this place before.
Wriggling his small tail, he attempted to find a scent that he could follow, either back to the den or back to his brother. He wasn't too worried, since he had enough sense to know that his mother wouldn't allow him to be lost for so long. His father, he knew, was off with his other siblings, and so there wasn't much of a chance of Tristan coming after him. But he had great faith in his mother.
Which was why he was excited when is keen ears picked up the sound of his mother's voice. Moving his small paws quickly, he covered as much ground as possible with his smaller legs.
As he ran, he saw something off to his side that looked strikingly like--
"Allister!" the normally quiet pup exclaimed, skidding to a halt to peer sideways at his brother. His eyes lit up and he showed emotion for once, happy to see his kin. He hadn't been all that worried about being lost, but it never was fun being alone in the middle of a place you weren't familiar with.
"Mom's calling.." he murmured, looking off. He was the one who was always obedient, and so he figured they should answer their mother's calls. But he would follow his brother for the moment, and do whatever Allister wanted.

shia-san Allister fell alert when Valet's voice became apparent, and he swiveled his head around, a long smile on his black lips.
'Hey bro.' He pushed off his wood and greeted Val with a sniff, then a friendly nose-butt. He loved Valet, so much, and probably more so then any of his other siblings. The two had a lot in common, and always fell to agreements when it was necessary; and when it was not, they would argue like brothers do, but overall the love still prospered. Allister felt he knew the ins and outs of Valet, whether his brother felt the same or not.
'Yeah,' he nodded, looking off towards where Jenna's figure phased in and out of view, a hoard of shrubby blocking her view. Allister was adventurous, yes, but today didn't seem like the day to wander away from mother. He wasn't sure exactly why, but it was just a hunch he had. Quickly, a strong puppy voice hit the cords as he howled, then broke off as the strain edged at his throat.
'Mom!'
Jenna smiled, spotting both pups lingering around a large tree, eyes settled on their mother. It was funny hearing Allister attempt to howl, but it gave Jenna a bit of motherly pride--he was growing, her little boy growing, and this knowledge was great to have. She approached, head lowered slightly. Their scents were strong, and mingling, and as she hovered over them, her head fell entirely and began to sniff and lick up each pup, draining herself of the little energy she had at this moment.
'Boys, boys...' she chuckled, nose flaring with every wafting scent. 'Lets go to the river today. We can catch fish and drink and relax...you guys can also explore that area, seeing that it is rather large.'
No, she didn't want to go to the river today, but to the large bay like pond, which stretched across a plot of flattened land. Her lips spread, hoping the two would think fondly of this idea.

Valet smiled a small smile at his brother. Hardly any emotions could be pulled from the small pup. He always remained passive, indifferent to anything around him. But that didn't mean he didn't care, not in the least. It was just the way he was, plain and simple. And it was so great that his family understood that, especially Allister. It was the reason he followed him around more than any of his other siblings.
Following said sibling's gaze, the small pup saw what it was that had tranced Allister so.
"Mother!" he called, almost simultaneously with his brother. Wiggling, he leaped forward to go meet her. If there was one thing he couldn't help, it was his love and excitement for his mother. There was just an inexplicable connection with her that was so powerful and strong he didn't think he'd ever be able to understand it.
Feeling the pleasure of his mother's tongue grooming his fur, he grumbled happily and nearly fell over, just allowing for his mother to smother him with affection.
But he lifted his head as Jenna began speaking, suggesting that they go to the river and explore a little. He found the prospect of another adventure exiting, but he wouldn't go if his brother didn't want to. Glancing over at Allister, he questioned with his eyes what his brother wanted to do.
And what his brother wanted to do, so did Valet.
