From what I can tell the original FF7 game on PSP is purely done through the owners own doing. I'm not sure how a PSP works as I don't own one, so whether they got it to work through hacking into the game system or tweaking the system, or through some other method.
The only original FF7 game for the PSP is Crisis Core and that Zack one. Unless Crisis Core IS the Zack one.

Crisis Core and the "Zack one" are one and the same. Last I checked it was due out in Japan in the first quarter of this year, but if that goes by Squenix time, then itll probably hit Japan by fall at best and the States by first quarter '08.

From what I saw the graphics are good and Zack looks really good. I heard today again from a friend of mine whose played each FFVII game that all them might be remade for the PSP.

It would be cool if they revamped the original FFVII in modern 3D renders and put it on the PSP.

If they had Tatsuya Numura working on it (the character designer for FFVII, DC, KH and director of AC) he will keep the game true to the original. He's good like that.

Anyone would want to better keep it true to the original or else there would be a whole market that would not buy the game and they would loose money...
i really do like the ps3 tech demo.. it was just weird watching it the first time cause the characters were proportioned correctly

There is an original version which you can download for the psp using t0rrent sites. (Though it is illegal) They work through a PS1 emulator for the psp which you need to use to play VII along with many other PS1 games on the psp. I would download it if my memory stick for my psp were big enough. xd
There's a PS2 emulator in the works, but I hear it screws ya psp when ya try it.

I'm sure they said that they weren't going to make any new installments to FFVII somewhere, but they never said anything about a remake.
Hey, Tetsuya Nomura ain't THAT true. Look what he did to Cloud in AC. Angst and Emo all around.
I just hope they don't change anything. I hope.

I am really excited for this one.... Because Zack is my favorite character, and I was always wondering about his past, and the past in general. NOW, this should be a lot more interesting then DOC. (Which I thought was terribly done. . . Y_Y I thought it was totally irrelevant to make it as well.)
I'm debating on whether to buy a PSP just for the game or not...
What if someday it comes out on the PS2? Is it worth it to buy a PSP for one game? DX
If it involves Zax, you'd better believe it. wink .
Well, I don't know how 'original' it can be... I mean, how can you keep things the same in Crisis Core, if we don't even know what happened in the past.? ^^;
Sure, we know of a few fragments, which don't seem to have been altered, just added to. Er, from what I've seen of trailors and Crisis-Core.net and such.
