umm....
i saw the advertisement for this thread and i was like..chubbychasers? wtf. but ive been scoping it out and it really isnt all like that. it seems like a good place where i can make new friends and whatnot. so, i hope you all welcome me kindly of course. and thanks for accepting me!

Now, I know I'm not a mod or nothing, but.......this isn't the right way to introduce yourself, lol. Theres a sticky for it near the top of the thread list.

When I found this guild, it was somebody describing it as a support group.
But yes, come and chat with us and discuss and make new friends and post photos biggrin
Let's change it to:

Please clarify a little.
The term "chubby chaser" is vague and best, and has many unpleasant connotations.
(I'm trying to determine if I fit your definition of "chubby chaser" so I know whether or not to feel offended)

Well, I'm glad you found us ^_^
And I actually find the term "chubby chaser" pretty spot on... somebody who goes after larger people. The only way I can see it as unpleasant is meant as derogatory or talking about an asswipe who goes after chubby girls under the impression they're easier.
If you like bigger girls, I fail to see how it's really offensive to you. I mean, is it the chubby part, or the chaser part?
Then again, I think it's funny when people call me "woman" and yell at me for calling myself "fat" as if it's a bad thing. What exactly is the point in going out of your way to be offended? I honestly don't think she meant it to be offensive, or she wouldn't have come in here saying it. I mean, I can see being offended if somebody is saying it to you directly to offend you, if you want to give them the pleasure of giving them exactly what they want it's your perrogative.
In reality, I just don't want this to end up like some of the other plus-sized groups I've been in where people get offended by some well-meant or poorly thought-out comment at the drop of a hat.

well i thought thats what it was for a little bit, and yeah chubby chasers, to me are just guys who like fat girls cuz they are either easy, like she said. or because they are into that. and possibly they dont like you for any other reason i guess? but if they do then they arent really chasing the chubby right? oh well, ive gone and confused myself xD. so there is definitely a difference between chubby chasers and the people that come here because they simply prefer bigger people. the other one is much more crude 3nodding

Chubby chaser has had a variety of uses. It was originally used to refer to a homosexual male FA, and it was used in an article to refer to guys who go after fat women because of some low esteem-predation-hate-complex. There's also the connotation. In my mind, the phrase conjures up images of a fourty-ish, hairy, heavy breathing guy with unwholesome sexual ambitions.

The only time I've ever really heard it in the media I got the impression chubby chasers went after girls, so I did not know the original meaning.
And in my mind I always imagine a cute guy snuggling a chubby/plus sized girl when I hear the term sweatdrop However, I shall make sure to never call you one.
Then again, I don't even ever use that term anyways xp
