On fanfiction.com there have been many fics by various authors that claim Kratos has a fear/dislikes tomatoes. Can any one back this up with a occurence from the game or any proof at all?

It's an assumption. While it's never directly stated, Kratos appears to dislike tomatoes due to the fact that any dish that has tomatoes in it never has more than two stars for him. He has a very low mastery, which has given people the impression that it's because of the fact that it has tomatoes in it and that he dislikes them. x;
I think him having a fear of it is just a joke among fans, however.

that would be a sensible assumption. (though I've never really looked, it's either Genis or Regal who cook for me. With the exception for curry, I like it that Sheena puts pineapple in it)
It is funny how people come to these conclusions. In Suikoden, one of the characters named Georg is assumed to like cheesecake because every time you recruit him for our team, he's always carrying cheesecake.

That makes a lot of sense...but it seems like a bit of a stretch. It's almost a cult thing, the way how many people write about it of FF.net. Makes me thing that there's some sort of skit somewhere that tells the story and I just couldn't find it.
But then again, maybe it's just someting like "Kratos doesn't like tomatoes, huh? I never noticed that...But if all these people are writing about it, then it must be true." You never know. But I'm still thinking there's a 'hidden skit' somewhere...

But I'm still thinking there's a 'hidden skit' somewhere... After your fifth play through I beleive it unlocks something in the Katz village, where you can play out all the available skits in the game. (Of course it may be that I never noticed it until I got to that point in the game for the sixth time...) but yes, there isn't a skit like that, and I was never really observant enough to understand why Kratos always feared tomatoes. =D Quite interesting what some people notice... *only really watches things about the characters Zelos, Sheena, Lloyd, Collette and Rain...and forgets about everyone else*

Actuallty the skit thing in Katz Village is there at any time. I don't think you have to beat the game a certain amount of times before it is unlocked.

Although it is true that the Katz Elder is there the entire time, for a good long while I don't think he'll offer the 'skit-view function'. He's just there enjoying being stoned. I may be wrong, but I think the use of that feature requires the Derris-Emblem. That'd be why you can't always go and see it.
And doesn't that also only let you re-watch skits you've already seen?

Yeah...I've been going back on another playthrough and made that discovery myself. I was very confused before I noticed that the skits weren't in chronological order.

Yeah... crying *found out Zelos died that way* But then I found out that it was altered because I love Zelos and always use him as my on screen character, one of my battle buddies...and I always make him do everything. =D Which made Zelos love me too...and not die.
