Does anyone remember some serial killer or something on the news some years ago who recorded his answering machine message to be a depressed answering-machine version of Marvin? (along the lines of, "brain the size of a planet and what do they ask me to do? Answer the phone oh god I'm so depressed) The media used it to prove that he was psychotic and mentally unstable, that the recording directly represented his own views on life. My family was just like, "He's quoting Douglas Adams! How does that prove anything?!
