The sun was high up in the sky as a white lioness with pale green markings roaming across the savahna. She was searching for a shady area to rest, or for some game to hunt. Her tail swayed behind as she took long strides, trying to cover as much ground with out running, she already stuck out in this desert, she did not need to attract more attention to herself.
It was not long before a small tree came into view, followed by a few more tree's and a watering hole. A few other animals were drinking, and Dimu felt no need to interupt them just yet, so she sat under the tree and watched them all with rose colored eyes.
It seemed Dimu had been everywhere. Yet she had not found what she was lookign for. A place to settle down for a while, a pride, or somethign that could replicate a family. She had met many interesting people, but few of them were the long term friendship type. But was was alright, Dimu enjoyed traveling, even if she told herself she was getting tired of it, she really wasn't, she was only tired of the same landscape for miles.

Chenza was one of those animals drinking from the watering hole, though she had to wonder why they were sticking around after seeing a grown wild dog sitting there. Perhaps they sensed the sorrow in her demeanor as she sat down underneath one of the trees. Her babies were all grown up...it was enough to make a mother cry if she had tear ducts.
But wait a minute...something was extremely odd here. Why did she hear something breathing on the other side of the tree? She hadn't seen the creature approach, and so she knew it could be anything.
"Kiji...i-is that you?" she asked, knowing that her prankster son had not wandered too far away yet.

The lioness' ears perked as she heard the voice of another and raised a brow as she snaked her head around and spotted the wild dog female, just as she was asking if it was... Kiji did she say? Dimu looked at the wild dog curiously, Dimu hadn't seen many wild dogs before and was intreged by this one.
The lioness attempted to give a warm smile, as the wild dog seemed upset and perhaps a little edgy. "Hello, have you lost someone?" She asked simply as she stood and walked around to get a better look at the wild dog. The small female made Dimu feel quite large, it was a bit akward.

When a grinning big lion appeared on the other side of the tree, Chenza half-suspected Kiji to be behind her laughing. But no...this was really happening. There was a big lion right in front of her, and there was nowhere to run, except into another tree. This left only one option...
"AAAIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
The orange wild dog shrieked in terror as all the hairs on her back stood up.
"P-Please don't eat me, B-Big Lion...I'm too young to die..."

Dimu blinked in confusion and looked behind her, half expecting a firekin or some equally frightening lion to be getting into a pouncing position. Then she realised the little wild dog was talking to her. Her eyes widened and she felt very confused. Why would anythign be afraid of her?
"Oh no, please, I don't want to eat you!" Dimu insisted, stepping back a little, as she tried not to scare the wild dog too much more. Maybe this female had been attacked or chased by other lions before? How terrible...
"I promise I do not wish to eat you..." She really wasn't sure what a wild dog would taste like, but never the less, the one before her seemed to small to be anythign other then a snack, and Dimu only hunted when she had to, and usually hunted larger game to last her longer.

Well, the big lion was backing away from her...that was a positive sign. Also, the big lion was promising that she did not wish to eat her, and didn't want to eat her...hey, wait a minute...
"A-Are you sure you're not g-going to eat me because you need to eat me?" Chenza asked, still cowering in fear. "'Cause...sometimes I don't want to hunt something, but I have to because I'm hungry. How do I know that you're not going to do just that to me?"
Sometimes taking every word literally caused Chenza more anxiety than it was worth.

"I promise not to eat you, regardless of the situation... is that better?" The lioness asked lowering her head a bit, so show she was no threat to the wild dog. If anything, Dimu wanted to talk and get to know this wild dog. She had only ever met lions before, and this was a chance for her to get to know another race. She did intend on becoming a scout, and by learning more about other races, she could do her job better, if she ever got the job, that is.
"I am M'Dimu Chanua... who are you?" She asked calmly, trying to be friendly, but not so friendly she seemed suspicious or scary. This whole ordeal was rather confusing to Dimu, she was use to others acting like she wasn't a threat, even treating her like she was lesser. But then again, she was only use to lions, so... note to self; some smaller species are terrified of large lions.. approach with caution...

Ah, now here was a promise that she could rely on. Regardless of the situation...it sounded like an oath more than a promise, really. At any rate, Chenza relaxed a little bit at the big lion's words. "Much better. My name is Chenza. I'm a very fierce wild dog if I need to be, but you seem like one of the nicer big lions. Some of the other ones...well, scare me more than you scared me."
The orange wild dog glanced at the water for a moment before continuing with, "This place is as much of a home as I have, so you're welcome to have some of the water...just as long as that promise extends to my children, who may still be wandering in this area."

Dimu's ears perked as Chenza talked about her children. That was somethign Dimu always envied about others, their families. She dreamed about having a little daughter of her own to follow her around. She smiled and nodded, agreeing that the promise did infact extend. Dimu only ate game, and wild dogs did not really fall under that catagory.
"So other lions have attacked you? I am sorry... some lions are good, and others are cruel..." She said solumly wandering why the world was the way it was, before she snapped back to the fact Chenza had children. "So how old are your pups?" She asked with a small grin, sitting down and looking around.

"Well, they've tried to attack me, but I was too fast for them. Luckily, I haven't met others of their kind since I had my children," she explained, relaxing enough to sit down in front of the lioness. If she was apologizing for the cruel big lions, she most likely wasn't one of them. "I honestly can't remember the exact amount of time that has passed since they were born, but they are all young adults now...I can't call them pups anymore, because they've wandered off on their own to see the world."

"I'm so sorry... are you sad to see them go? If I had cubs, I'd be happy for them, but very sad to see them all leave..." Dimu frowned at the thought of having cubs, then waking up to find they were all grown and leaving home. The lioness knew she would most certainly be very alone if they left, since Dimu realised she would probably not settle down with any male and become mates.
She turned her rose hued eyes to Chanza and watched her. Dimu wandered if Chenza was still witht he father, or if the male left? She wouldn't ask Chenza all these questions, that would be too personal. "Well, how many do you have, and what are their names?"

It seemed that the lioness had hit a sore point for the wild dog, for she seemed to sink into the ground. "Well, a mother is always proud that her children have grown enough to fend for themselves...it means she hasn't screwed up somewhere along the line. But I have been lonely since they left."
"I have three children...the two boys are called Neoni and Kijini'leli, and the little girl is Jibanza. Kiji gets himself into trouble too much for his own good, but they're all good children."

As the wild dog wilted, Dimu felt a little bad, she was a bit too nosey this time. She thought a moment as her tail twitched in thought. Chenza could always have more pups? But that obviously was not as easy as it sounded, if it was, Dimu might have a cub or two with her now, but she didn't, and Dimu didn't believe any males were around this area, any male Wild dogs anyways.
"I'm sorry... I hope you find somethign to help you not feel so alone any more?" She said sincerly. The lioness was alone most of the time. She didn't hate it, but it got rather boring and lonesome most of the time.

"I'm sure I will someday..." Chenza said, glancing about the area. "A normal wild dog would just have more pups, but...well, it's a bit embarassing, really. I was...tricked into having the pups, when I was still a rather naive young adult. I wouldn't trade those children of mine for anything, but I'd hope my next litter would be with a better male. It was tough raising the boys without a proper role model."

Dimu smiled and nodded. But felt a bit sympathetic about the female being tricked into the pregnancy. "I offer my help if you ever need it, and I'm in the area... I've been wanting cubs of my own, but cannot seem to find a male who I wouldn't mind having as the father... even if I find one, I plan to raise most of them on my own..." Dimu said with a smile. She hoped that Chenza would have a new litter and all of them would be as beautiful and brave as their mother.
"So who was the father of the last lot?" She asked curiously, feeling it was alright to just ask, Chenza could avoid the subject and tell her to drop it if she pleased, after all.
