I met up with Danni McCormack and we did a shoot for my photography course...and as we had so much time left over she got changed into this amazing outfit and we did some promo shots for her band.
I hope you all like!

I used my friends Fuji Finepix s7000 (something like that) as my fuji is a little broken....i have the s9500 and it's lubly ! ^^ If your looking for a very good digital camera you need to have a big digital sensor to get good quality images ^^

Just curious, since I know that this is your profession--do you have any advice for someone wanting to get more into photography as part of a career?

I'll be headed into graphic design and would like to take photography along with me, but only have actual training in black and white film photography. I dabble with a point and click digital and a 35mm film on my own [and hope to be able to save up for something nice in terms of digital that lets me change manual settings come summer], but really have no idea how photography works in more formal settings like a studio.

How much of a difference is there between film and digital?
Which to you prefer/is easier to you? Why?
Are there other impediments that exist with digital that would otherwise not in film?
What sort of equipment do you use in addition to your camera? [In terms of lighting, metering, etc.]

Hope I'm not being too nosy.

Hey hun no worries!
I can't give you a in-deph explination right here but briefly:
You really need to read books, go to classes, get involved with any types of learning to do with Photography, as that is how I learnt everything such as studio set ups.
It's not easy to use a studio if you don't understand lighting, colour and studio theory (such as the technical side).

now the answer to your Q's:

1. Film will always be better in quality and perhaps the cheapest. Digital cameras get more and more better and also the price goes up whereas film (especially large format) will be infinate quality compared to digital cameras (unless you have 50k to spare for a camera).

2. I prefere digital because I am a PhotoShop lover and I also spent a lot of money on a digital camera (Canon EOS 5D). Digital photography is easier for me and makes everything 1billion times easier.

3. Digital will be always be easier because of what it is, therefore gives it a lot more bonus over film. But film will infinatly hold more pixels per inch compared to digital. Also most proffesional photographers use film as it can be considered less 'cheating'

4. I use nothing but myself and my camera. In the studio I obviously use whats provided, and I don't use a flash gun (;

TO EVERYONE ELSE!

Thanks for the wonderful comments!

Oh, wow! Fast response! haha
Unfortunately, there aren't available courses here beyond very basic creative photography [in black and white] so I'll be going it alone until I either graduate and find someone to teach me in the real world, or beg Priya for an independent study course. Are there any particular books that you would recommend in terms of learning more formal techniques and technical issues involved in studio work? Or would it be best to work through observation/imitation?

Gregory Crewdson's work is something that was recommended by a professor of mine in terms of looking for inspiration since his set-ups are always so elaborate and perfect, but are there any more candid or simple photographers you'd recommend [since I certainly don't have hundreds of thousands of dollars to pay to flood or burn down a house]?
