I don't know if I'm the only one who does this, but youtube (and many other places) has thousands of ballet videos. Does anyone watch ballet videos online? So many people prefer hip-hop so if they're around when I'm looking at a ballet video they're like "OMG!!! why the heck do you watch that crap!? ballet sucks!!!"...pure ignorance...such a shame. I'm a hardcore fan of Yuan Yuan Tan (principal dancer for the San Fransisco Ballet). Here are two videos that are currently my favourites on YouTube. It doesn't really say what this is, but I'm guessing it's a three seasons dance (it only covers three of the four). POinte starts at different ages at different places. It depends on where you go for class. How the teacher was taught and at what age and all that sorta stuff. It's because the bones don't ossify (can't spell) until about 12 (differnet for some people) so they don't let kids en pointe till then. But, yeah... really does depend on who's teaching you and how strong you are.
