I personally do::
- the school play
- drama examinations
- speech competition ((i JUST had this yesterday, i won gold award for dramatic duo :]))
- Occasionally sing attempt to sing and play instruments on stage, occasionally in things like musicals
- drama festivals
I want to audition for a movie or something but the problem is that I live in Japan and they only have auditions for japanese speakers. I speak japanese, yes, but i can't act in it.
Don't ask why not, i honestly have no idea.

Ooh, you live in Japan. How neat. ^_^ My personal resource for independant film auditions is mandy.com. They seperate auditions by reigion and I don't know if they'd have auditions for an English-speaking Japanese movie, but you could check it out.

I'm a member of my schools Stage Crew and I have drama lessons but that's about it. We don't do school performances anymore, which is annoying. I'm also on the waiting list for the backstage section of my local YPT.
Congrats on winning a gold award!

I do the musical every year at my school and I participate in Thespian (a state drama competition). I also listen to a bunch of musicals- at this point, I am constantly borrowing and returning Broadway CDs from my library.

I spend massive amounts of time hanging around my schools set and costume shops. Occasionally actually tech a show or two. also i'm highly involved in my schools renaissance festival.

in my theater I do just about everything. I stage manage, head paint crew am the historian, I do FX and coustumes, and I will do sound when needed.

I do:
-Construction, painting, props, and run crews at my high school for every play/musical
-Props, run, and occasionally lights or sound at two/three shows a season at a community theatre
-All of the above for one show during the summer at an outdoor theatre
-Tech challenge with my school crew at state and international thespian festivals
-Choir
I'm in an off period right now for finals, thank God. *exhaustion*

ok...get comfy...
**i'm directing my 4, 5, and 6th shows this year (1 mainstage and 2 children's series. we are doing 3 in each series next year).
**i get paid to do tech work (lights, sound, scenic design) for the professional shows that visit. i'm actually my school's TD =)
**i'm designing lights for 2 of our 3 mainstage shows.
**of the mainstage shows i'm not directing, i'm acting in 1 of the mainstage, auditioning for the other (a musical).
**i just finished stage managing for a regional children's theatre as well as being board op for one of their other shows.
**during the summer i teach creative drama to pre-k through 8th graders.
**i'm also in choir and take private voice, horn, and organ lessons.
**not counting music performances (choir, orchestra), i've done over 30 shows since i started college (i'm in my 5th year).
