The spring was coming upon them, and Anlach was drawing near. Brychan could feel it... all around him and within himself. That urge to fight, to win mates, and to make offspring. It was this time of year that the stags grew violent with each other. Many of them had become restless already, and even though Brychan was no exception.. he had been trying to retain an air of calm about himself.
The stag paused, turning his blue gaze toward the home oak where the Lord currently resided. Brychan was ambitious, and it was that position he had longed for. But nobody ever heard of a Lord without his own harem, and thus he had to take care of one thing at a time. He would have to win himself some hinds this year.
He then continued on his way, doing his daily patrol. A glance towards the valley and he could see several stags already mingling with many of the hinds.

Loreena was not used to seeing so many Stag where the Hind usually hung around. And though it made her a little uneasy, having such a dramatic change of atmosphere, she didn't exactly want it to go away either. There was something exciting about all of this, she found herself looking around towards some of the Stags, noticing how attractive they where. And wondering, if they noticed her.
She did little things to try and grab their attention. Walking smoother, with little flicks of her ears, or turns of her head, pretending not to be interested as she chatted casually with the other Hind, trying, even though she didn't quite understand why, to attract the attention of some of the Stags.
Though she had no idea what to do if she happened to succeed

Surely there were many stags eyeing her.. although Brychan hadn't yet noticed her. The dark stag was still a bit of distance off... yet his curiousity drew him near. He came to stand on a small gnoll, overlooking the throng of stags and hinds. Curious to see who was choosing who. There was the clack of antlers as a couple stags showed the same interest in the same hind. The first real sparring of the season. The outrider was lightly amused, and took to watching.. seeing who would come out on top.

the level of excitement rose up in the group of Hind that Loreena was with at the sound of the dueling Stag. turning there attention on the two Stags. commentating with giggles and coos of excitement and envy towards the Hind that was getting the attention.
Loreena watched the duel, though she would never attempt something so violent. it was an impressive sight, she drifted her gaze over to the the Hind they were fighting for, she looked happy to be getting the attention, or two fine young Stag. Loreena was happy for her, she knew the Hind. and knew she would be a wonderful mother.

Brychan was too busy watching the duel to be paying attention to the giggling hinds... nor the handsome bronze red stag with a black blaze, making his way towards them. He seemed to be looking them up and down... and Loreena had caught his eye. He was in his fourth set of antlers, a six pointer. He sauntered off to her... giving her quite the display as he struted and and tilted his head back.. showing off his physique and antlers... showing himself as a desirable male.

Her attention was distracted from the fight. As she caught sight of a Stag, that seemed to be trying to impress... her? Or perhaps one of the other hind with her?
Either way she watched. Ears perked forward, though he was not as impressive as one stag she had met. He was still quite something, and she could not deny, very attractive.
She giggled slightly, not able to help it, the males look so strong, and the way he was walking, only helped to make him look impressive.

The coppery stag smirked a little as he noticed he had Loreena's attention. Success! Thus he continued his display, tossing his head and waving his white tail. He may not look as impressive as the royals, but he was no pushover either. The stag was well muscled and large in size. His strutting display continued and he eventually tilted his head in a way to beckon her to follow him.

Ok, well now she was nervous. he was looking right at her as he motioned for her to follow. she hesitated for a moment, he was very handsome, and strong, but just not what she had hoped. then again, what gave her the right to be picky? for as much as she knew, he was the only one interested in her.
flattening eats back timidly, she smiled softly, and kindly as him, getting encouraging giggles from the other Hind, she walk gently out to meet him.

Well it wasn't as if he wasn't nice atleast.. the Coppery stag looking as if he was trying to contain his excitement as she walked in his direction. Ears flagged forward and his heart skipped a beat.. the coppery stag reaching forward to touch noses with her should she allow it.
It was then that the fight between the two stags had been decided, and Brychan chuckled to himself. His blue gaze then scanning over the others gathered, when he thought he saw a familiar looking hind. Hm?

she blushed softly under her fun, pawing at the ground and grinned, ears still back in a shy manner she let him approach her. not really sure what to do she leaned her head out forward a bit. he was cute, and she could tell that he was happy that she had noticed him.
she didn't have anything to say, wondering if maybe he would start talking first.

The stag blushed as well, and a bit of a goofy grin on his muzzle. "You're very pretty.." he said quietly, admiring her pelt which was in similar color to his. "I would be honored if you would stand with me."
Brychan looked on... ears tilting back as he then remembered that he had met Loreena before. He watched the interactions between the younger stag and the hind. He had been interestedin her... and he could feel the urge to fight rising within him.

She felt so special being asked that, and by such a handsome stag to. she giggled turning her face down, and causing her ears to perk forward. everything around her seemed to just vanish, as she turned over the question in her mind,
how would she respond? just a yes? or did she have to say something fancy? she knew some of the Hind liked to play with Males a bit first. but she didn't know what she would do if she did decide to toy around with him, plus that was a bit mean.
"hee hee" she just giggled, trying to form the words. smiling and blushing, not looking in his eyes, knowing it would only make her giggle more out of skyness.

The red stag continued with his flirtatious gestures... all the while Brychan was keeping a keen gaze on the two. His chest swelled out, the fur on his neck standing on end. He could win that hind from that stag, he was stronger than him.
Several heads turned as Brychan bellowed out, stamping a hoof angrily. Even the coppery stag turned to look. It was then as the night pelted royal stag charged down the slope and was heading right for the copper one who placed himself infront of Loreena. This was his hind! He wouldn't be giving her up without a fight!
As he charged, Brychan saw the challenge and lowered his head... shoulders hunching. And then in a few moments the loud crash of antlers echoed through the small valley.

the bellow started Loreena, she once again became aware of the others around her. and what was going on.
confused about the bellow, she glanced around curiously, wondering who was being challenged to a duel. only to see a dark speckled Royal charging towards them... she knew him.
intently the Copper Stag that was courting her charged into the fight. flattening her ears back she took a couple of steps away. watching with her mouth slightly open.

Antlers locked in a fierce struggle and while Brychan had the upper hand, it was not going to be an easy fight. Hooves dug into the ground as both males pushed against each other, antlers locked in fierce combat. Bellows and barks coming from the both them, eyes intense and committed to winning Loreena.
The coppery stag jerked his head to one side, trying to throw Brychan off balance. But the heavier black stag was not so easily outmaneuvered. He countered back with his own shove in the opposite direction. The wrestling of antlets continued for some minutes before they released. Brychan rearing up and boxing viciously at the other stag who did the same. Sharp hooves scraping at one another and cutting at their pelts.
