Confusing and pointless for the most part. But that is to me, who does not care about genres.

I think some of it is kind of pointless. Like the mixture of genres....and what ever happened to Power Metal.... gonk and I thought that Metal had more of a Blues influce, than rock. Since Metal was based more off of Blues ( which confuses me on why they conected Metal to Rock).

It's difficult to say genre x is influenced by genre y, because an entire genre consists of multiple bands, each with their own influence. Despite sounding similar, some bands from the same genre may have been inspired by different sources. Black Sabbath, often said to be the fathers of metal, were originally a blues band. And, of course, there are metal bands who's influences are classical, or folk/country....it's needlessly complicated to try and list all possible influences upon any specific genre.

Ah, a**s.com. Essentially that list is somewhat sound, although over there they consider "Speed Metal" what we call "Thrash Metal" and think of Thrash as essentially Crossover. "Power Metal" is not there because it's not a genre covered by a**s.com.

a**s does not cover Power Metal, that-s why its not listed... Im not an expert on punk nor black metal, so I couldnt say why is Punk related to Black Metal there........ only thing I can say though is that when you think of Punk related to Metal, you do not think Blink 182
