Like every night since Renem has been with Xiang, he had had a very warm, very pleasant nights sleep, his Dreams, though he rarely remembered them, where sweet, and gentle. and left him with a very happy feeling when he awoke.
but there was something rather different about this morning when he woke up.
at his first morning breath, he felt like he could float up. but now... there was a wight on his chest. blinking in confusion, he thought that maybe it was Xiang laying on him... but there was two things that were wrong with that. this didn't smell like Xiang, and it didn't feel like Xiang.
he didn't move for a moment. eyes wide in confusion.
"um.... Xiang? what... whats on me?"
where there had been two adult Numa curling up for the night to sleep. awoke a family of five.
the little monster Pup did not open his tired eyes at the sound of a voice. it sounded comforting. but his weak young body did not want to do anything but curl up next to a warm furry body, using his glowing fathers arms as a pillow for his chin.

Xiang had turned in the night from being curled against Renem, now he lay a bit sprawled, one arm over his head and the other was stuck under something much heavier than the feathers that he had held as he had fallen asleep.
Sitting up and blinking his blurry eyes in the bright morning sun, Xiang attempted to understand why Renem looked so lumpy and why it seemed a chunk of him had fallen off his body and curled on the grass between them. When his brain registered what Re had asked he concentrated on the lumps and they came into focus.
"Pups." he remarked in a sleepy tone, a second later his voice grew louder and he was fully awake "Our pups~ Oh Renem, our babies are so beautiful!"
He gathered the still sleeping flamey pup and lay him with his siblings on Renem's belly then he took in their sleeping faces, "Two boys and a girl, Re, they're perfec...t." He had lain a paw upon the dark one's head and was just a little startled to find that he seemed to have his skull outside of his fur, he still thought what he said was true but couldn't help but stare a little.
Bright. Warm. Soft.
Sensations filtered into the little female's mind as she woke slowly, loud? She shifted in her sleep whispy wings twitched and someone's voice, two voices, filled her ears. With a squeeky little yawn she rolled and stretched her limbs, tiny claws unsheathed when her arms were fully extended opening her eyes for the first time her eyes focused on a dark face with shining eyes staring blankly but full of something, she squeaked again as she began to slide off her furry perch.

Renem blinked a couple of times at Xiang's words, remembering all at once that there prayer had been answered. they got there pups! he felt Xiang place another one on him. he sat up slightly, just enough to not disturb the one on his chest. then reached a paw out. breathlessly to touch his daughter on the back. he was in awe... he was actually touching his an Xiang's child.
he smiled as he felt her moveing. and quickly caught her as she slid off. holding her carefully and setting the little one back on his chest
"carefully sweety"
"whats wrong?" he asked, catching the pause in Xiang's voice.
he moved his paw down to stroke the second pup. this one also had wings. though they were alot smaller they were like Xiangs.
he lifted his face up. feeling someone lightly touching him. eyes still closed tiredly, he turned his nose up, sniffing in the familier scent of his father.
he yawned and then sneezed. black eyes opening slightly, but closing quickly as the light, surprised and bothered his eyes. he sniffed again turning his face towards his warm father.

Love. The word was in her head, that was it.
The little girl climbed unsteadily up to rub her face against her father's and in this act turned and saw another, this one too had those same eyes, she moved towards Xiang and squeaked as she tried to move from one parent to the other mid air and found nothing to climb on. "Oh," she murmured clinging to Renem so that she didn't slip further.
"Not wrong Renem, just this one, ah, startled me. Our spooky boy seems to have a bone mask on." Xiang's voice was low, brushed his paws over skull head and fin ears, then he picked up his dark boy and brought him to face level. "Hello there," he spoke softly and kissed the boy's nose then cradled him close in an almost over-protective manner.
He scooched closer to Renem so that they were touching and reached out an arm to their girl, brushing her head and cooing at her a smile lit his face, "All three pups have wings Re." His eyes dropped to the still sleeping one, ever so gently he brushed his fingers against the flamey boy.

Renem closed his eyes, and gently kisses his daughters cheek as she rubbed against him. she was so soft, softer then anything he could imagine.
he carefully helped her down, so she would not slip and hurt herself.
and turned his head up, face turned a little to the left of wehre xiang really was, but still paying attention to him.
"a bone?" he asked, blinking puzzled "well, thats interesting?" haveing never felt a bone mask before he reached out. touching Xiangs arm, and following it all the way up till he touched his spooky son. feeling wings. and hard stripes running along part of his body.
Renem raised his eyebrows "wow. wonder how he got those"
he smiled, that was pretty cool, he wondered what his son must look like.
"what about her Xiang?" he asked. feeling around carefully for there daughter.
he sneezed again, having his nose kissed, "arrr" he squeaked tiredly, yawning again, and slowly attempting to open his eyes again, paws over his eyes.
he blinked a couple of times once they were used to the light. red pupils on solid black eyes focused blurily on a glowing adult holding him. mouth falling open slightly under his skulls fangs, as he stared at his father, a feeling of comfort swelling inside of him. "arrr" he roared a little, in a form of giggle, reaching his paws out to put on his fathers face, touching him curiously.

Between looking at the other pups and Renem, Xiang had missed the first look at red glowing eyes. When he felt cool paws touch his face he again set his attention on his spooky son. "Ooh," he murmured softly knowing that the boy's eye were unique, it seemed he focused though and so Xi guessed his vision was not impaired. "His eyes are unique too Re," Xiang's voice held a soft awed quality.
Thinking that Renem might want to hold the boy, Xi placed their dark son in his other father's arms.
Before Renem had let her down the girl had taken in the scent of her matching father but she was far too curious to be hungry now. Attempting to walk on new limbs proved much harder on solid ground than climbing on a daddy mountain so she moved to her fiery father's lap. Left paw up followed by right and a warm sensation shot through her arm. She lifted the offending paw but the warmth stayed, "Ah," she said "ah." Looking up at Xiang, she got his attention.
"Our little girl," he picked her up, nuzzled her with his face and licked an ear, not tasting the slightly charred ness, "she looks just like you, but blueish. Spotted all over with points of light, and a moon on her rump, so cute~" His voice when high at the end, baby talkish.
She held her arm out from her body, she didn't feel pain in the limb but it felt different from the rest of her, she was soon distracted by snuggles though and used the paw to brush away warm locks of hair that were tickling her face. The reaction was instantaneous, a small fire came to life around the paw, and all at once, she understood. The warmth of the limb felt natural, the fire was a part of her and did not burn her fur or skin.
Xiang had had his eyes closed but they popped open when he felt the flicker of fire near his face that was unlike the flame of his own hair and they widened in fear upon seeing the flame on her paw thinking that somehow he had inadvertently lit his little girl. "Oh no, no no." Terror tightened his high voice as he swiftly pulled her back from his face. With one paw, he held tight to her and with the other, he attempted to smother the fire by covering her tiny paw in his own.

Renem cradled his bony son. face turned up slightly. carefully running his paw over the young pups features. this was... quite something, this pup was very different from any other pup he had met, then again, he didn't know how many Numa walked around with skulls over there face. this was Renem's first time actually feeling bone. he wondered if it was causing the pup any pain.
Renem could not help but feel a swell of warmth holding the Tiny Numa, different or not, he still loved his son.
he lowered his face down, nuzzling it into the pups belly, he was not as soft as his sister, but Renem didn't care.
The black pup blinked quickly at this new Adult Numa holding him, though now he was darker, but with the same glow to his eyes. but why was this one not looking at him like his other father was? Jayce yawned again. purring softly and licking his fathers fun as his belly was nuzzled.
at the alarmed sounds Xiang was makeing Renem lifted his head quickly, eyes wide head turning every which way in confusion
"whats wrong? whats wrong?" he asked quickly.

"She - she was on fire! I lit her on fire just by touching her Renem. Our baby." Desperation and disbelief coloring his high feminine voice. Xiang had moved himself back from Renem and the male pups taking care to dodge the still sleeping boy. He didn't want to harm them like he had their girl but. But why wasn't she crying out? It must be the shock, he didn't want to pull his paw away from hers, didn't want to see the burn he was sure she would have, didn't know how to treat it. His heart pounded loud in his ears.
The pup in question was indeed not hurt, she was busy discovering her unique limb when her fiery father reacted, leaping up and away from her siblings and moonlit parent. Not comprehending his distress nor reacting to it she wiggled her little legs swinging them in the air, much too young to have a fear of heights she looked around and then let out a giggle.
Xiang gaped at the seemingly happy pup, who was looking around and babbling baby talk. Slowly he removed his paw from hers, moving it under her rump to support her weight and brought her closer, but not too close, to inspect the damage and found none. Cradling her to his chest he brushed back his hair with one hand and took his first calm breath in what seem to him like hours, yet was only mere minutes.
Tentatively he touched one paw and then the other the first was cool, like Renem and the other was warm, the rest of her also felt cool in Xiang's warm hands, "Her feather was aflame too wasn't it?"
He spoke calmly now feeling quite foolish, "Seems like our girl takes after both of us Re, when I held her close her paw it lit a flame, but she's unhurt." He tried to explain it as best he could thinking that Re must be feeling the panic that he had felt, maybe worse because he could not see what had happened. Xiang looked down at the grass, maybe Renem would not have reacted so wrongly to their daughter's ability if he had seen it, his cheeks burned in embarrassment.

Renem had to admit. at first he was horrified to hear that there baby girl might have been hurt. though he did not blame Xiang, his heart sank a bit as he felt his love back away.
"Xiang" he said softly, but stopped there, being lost for consoling words.
but at his next words, Renem could not help but smile, a sweet laugh escaping him. he felt like such a new parent.
"oh goodness, looks like out children have allot of surprises for us to discover"
he blinked in the bright light, starring at the other pup being help by there warm father. wiggling slight e opened his mouth wide, and reached his paws out towards her
"arrrr" he made the sound, almost like a grow;, trying to get out of Renem's grip to play.

Placing a kiss upon her brow and then cautiously nuzzling against her, Xiang let out a sigh, "I dunno if I can do this, Re."
He noticed that the dark boy was seeming to reach for himself or his sister, so he moved back to the ground to lean against Renem and set the girl on the grass and she promptly climbed towards her awake brother.
"I don't mean that I don't want to do this, but I'm starting to lose confidence, what if something bad happens to them and we can't do anything to stop it?"
From the hight of her father's arms she had seen that the world lay out all around them, lit by the day. She couldn't see far but somehow knew that there was more out there and she wanted to explore it and she wanted for her brothers to come. One still lay unmoving she didn't yet have an idea on how to convince him to join her so instead she would ask her littler brother.
"Bo ga." She began but found she didn't quite have the words for her meaning, so instead she nudged against him and then looked away, then repeated the actions.

Zenith was tired, but he couldn't continue to keep trying to sleep since all the others around him seemed so intent on moving around and making panicky noises. He had rolled onto his back, wings spread out and legs sprawled in a wacky manner.
Finally blinking his eyes open, he turned his head sideways to look at the others around him, others that he almost immediately recognized as family. Already exasperated by their antics he forced himself awake. Yawning he rolled himself right side up, then stood shakily for the first time (not counting the time last night he had -really- had to go potty, the evidence of which had fortunately already seeped into the ground).
Flapping his wings he decided he wanted his family's attention, as they had seemingly grown bored of prodding him, now that he was aware. Taking in a huge breath of air, he opened his wings as wide as they would go and shouted, "DADDY!" The force of the cry was powerful enough to knock him onto his little rump. So he sat there and blinked at them as he awaited a reaction.

Renem nodded softly, understand what Xiang must be feeling. but a moment later he put on a soft smile.
"I don't think this was meant to be easy, or predictable" he felt the two babies slip off of his chest, and he sat up face still down, but turning his body towards Xiang "whatever happens, we will just face it like family"
he didn't understand what she wanted at first. and to be honest he still didn't quite know exactly what she expected him to do, so as a default reaction, the dark little Numa clambered to his feet, and waddles towards his sister.
"baah bah" he blurted out reaching her. and looking off to where she was nodding

Xiang smiled and leaned further onto Renem, "You're right, my love, that's what, just face i-" Xiang was cut short by the shout of the tiny flamey boy, he had discovered his voice and it seemed he wanted attention. Xiang was speechless for a moment and then he laughed.
The tiny girl felt tendrils of excitement curling in her head, they were off~ and then her other brother shouted and startled her, she turned about and tilted over in a comical way, comical to others watching, but not to her, she just couldn't seem to keep her paws under her and she didn't like that one bit. Climbing back to her feet she crawled between he brothers and announced, "Broga laod." in an almost reprimanding tone.
