Stat System:
I really should have implicated this system earlier but better late than never. Why are we implicating a stat system? One word- Anlach. Struggles for lordship and/or mates during anlach can get out of hand without any sturdy system for establishing the strengths and weaknesses of the individuals competing. This is the first run with this system so I am fully expecting a few bugs here and there but the more we can work on this and perfect it. If anyone has any thoughts please let me know!

Basic Stats:
Everyone will start out with a base stat group. These stats will be rolled in a special thread for stat rolling. These stats are the foundation of your deer, their basic strengths and weaknesses. I’ll be giving bonuses to some fc’s based on their backstories that I’ve come up for them.

    -Strength:
This is the physical power that your deer possesses. The stronger your deer is the more he may be able to overpower its opponent. Stronger blows with his antlers, stronger blows with his hooves, the ability to stand firm against other blows.

    -Endurance:
This is how much your deer can take. The more they can run, the longer they can fight, the more they can take damage wise. The more your deer can endure, the longer they can stand in a fight or run from a predator. To put it simple- this is your deer’s hit points.

    -Speed:
How quick your deer is. How well they can run, how quickly they run, how quickly they can strike or evade. The quicker your deer is they more likely they are to beat an opponent in striking out or to escape a predator over a short distance.

    -Intelligence:
How smart your deer is. This can also count as their wit. The more intelligent your deer, the more likely they are to out-maneuver their opponent or predator, analyzing the situation, finding weaknesses, etc.

Starting Off:

    - Starting off with a fawn you will have 20 points to allocate between the four base stats.

    - Starting off with a buck or a doe you will have 25 allocation points to between the four base stats.

    - Starting off with a stag or a hind you will have 30 allocation points to divide between the four base stats.

Five is average starting out. Four through two is below average, one to zero is inept. So if your deer is 0 for strength they’re pretty frail, if they’re 0 for intelligence they’re probably a bit…special so to say. Keep that in mind when you allocate. Throwing all your points to one stat could mean that while your deer’s fast and agile, he or she is completely frail and a fool.

Rank Bonuses and Deductions:

    - Outrider captains and royals: | +2 strength |
    - Lord of the herd: | +5 strength | +2 intelligence | +1 endurance | +1speed |
    - Any Lord-claimed hind: | +1 strength | +1 intelligence | +1 endurance | +1 speed |
    - Favored Lord’s hind: | All lord-claimed bonuses +1 endurance |
    - Lord’s Offspring: | +2 lord’s highest stat, | +1 mother’s highest stat |
    - Rogue: | - 2 endurance | +1 speed |
    - Storyteller: | -3 strength | +5 intelligence |
    - Speaker: | +1 intelligence |
    - Offspring: | +1 father's highest stat | +1 mother's highest stat |

Gaining and Losing Points:

    - Every 5 completed RP’s allows you a roll between 1-5. The number you roll is the number or new allocation points you have to assign to your deer. If the rp lasts for more than 2 pages you can add 1 to the amount you get to roll for every additional page. (So if you have 4 pages you roll between 1 and 7 instead of 1 and 5.)
    - First post on 50 and 100 page marks allow you a roll between 1 and 3.
    - Special events within the thread will allow for rolls as well. Those will be announced in the thread at the time of occurrence.
    - If you’re added to the gray list your deer looses 1 point on every stat.

Where to roll?

There’ll be a rolling thread just for rolling your stats. Be sure that you tag what you’re rolling for. Beginning stats, offspring stats, rp bonus rolls, etc. Do not delete your posts! If there’s any question about your stats later the staff may need to go back and flip through to add up your bonuses.

Where to track?

Every deer owner that’s interested in tracking their deer’s stats needs to begin a stat tracking thread here in this sub forum of the guild. Every post should be dedicated to a single deer. This way if you get more deer all you have to do is add another post. Here is my tracking page as an example/template. Feel free to decorate them as you wish.

Stat Advantages:

For stags, the higher their stats the stronger they’ll become. They can become lord of the herd, begin a new herd, etc.

For does they have higher appeal to the stags, they can evade predators and defend their offspring from foxes and the like.

And we will implicate the stats into the offspring, so just like in nature- the stronger the parents- the stronger the offspring.
