The day was coming to a close as the sun began to slowly drift off over the horizon. Bands of beautiful yellow, reds and purples streaked across the sky as the stars began to follow in the wake of the fading light. Very few clouds littered the sky making star gazing an easy sport to those interested. The meadow was quite barren and the sea of grass calm and stable as no breeze swept down upon it. It certainly was a beautiful night and the Firefly's would agree full heartidly as they slowly made their presence known with their blinking lights.

Lumina stood within the meadow. Green orbs were fixed upon the fading sun and the appearing stars. It was to be a moonless night, so darkness would be at it's fullest once the sun set but darkness didn't bother the brightly hued mare. No, she was quite content to rest under the moonless sky. It made star gazing all the more interesting for the brightness of the moon didn't overpower the weakest of the stars. Only on nights like this could all the stars be seen.

Flicking her tial, Lumina shifted her gaze from the painted horizon to the east where the stars were already beginning to appear. The brightest of them all, Sirius, being the first to appear. She shook her head gently, ridding her ear of a pesky firefly that had managed to land upon some sensitive hairs. She turned and looked at the tiny create before blowing warm air upon the insect from her nose, causing the firefly to be pushed away. She watched as it blinked it hind end in response before flying away in search of a mate that may be attracted to his lightshow.

As the sun dipped below the horizon the sound of giant flapping wings came from the forest. An ebony stallion burst from the top of the trees with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The night was his favorite time of day that inspired him to work his hardest though his 'work' was often frowned upon. As he climbed higher he took shelter in the darkening sky scanning the ground. He was making his way to the village but every now and then some stray human would be out with some pretty to catch his eye.

As he watched the world below a mass of twinkling caught his eyes. "What's this?" He asked him self before dipping lower to try and find the source of the light. As he swooped closer it became evident that the twinkling came from little glowing insects. He was two seconds from turning around when a second light caught his eyes.

"Why hello there." He said extending his legs to touch down in the center of the fireflies. As the bugs scattered he met the eyes of the mare that reflected the sun outward as though she were some rare treasure. "What is a beauty like you doing out here so close to the dark?"

Lumina had been oblivious to the stallion's approach until the rustling of feathers and a gentle wind caught her attention. Ears flicked forward as she turned her head to come face-to-face with a rather attractive stallion. At the steeds obvious flattering remark, Lumina arched her neck slightly and flicked her ebony tail, dipped in fiery hues. "I have no fear of the darkness so why flee from it's dark grip?" She smiled coyly. "Besides, the darkness brings on it's own beauty that sometimes surpasses that of the light. Where else besides darkness could you see the stars or witness the wonder of these little insects," She nosed one of the fireflies as it fly past her, causing the insect to stop for a moment upon her nose before flying off. Lumina turned her gazed back to stallion, "see the sunset, or...meet a mysteriuos stranger?"

A gentle breeze flitted over the pair, causing Lumina's mane to jostle ever so slightly. A stray curl blew into her face, forcing the mare to throw her head back in an attempt to fix the obviously annoying lock, but to no avail. Instead she was stuck witht he curl doing it's own thing and falling in the middle of her forehead. Snorthing she tilted her head slightly to move it to the side of her face so as not to look so ridiculous. Sometimes, having curly locks was just not worth the beauty they brought.

Blood red eyes sparkled as the beauty of the mares words struck him directly. He hadn't heard anyone speak so eloquently in several years. He had missed the sound of an educated voice and for her to be speaking of the darkness so fondly. It had been a long time, a very long time indeed. "Mysterious stranger? I'm not that strange am I?" He asked stepping closer. Once in reach he nudged the stray bit of her mane back behind her ear. He lingered there for a second longer to whisper, "You're absolutely beautiful when all your face is seen..."

He turned away from her and trotted off towards the fireflies that were gathering again. They seemed less frightened of him now then they were before so he stepped up and poked one curiously. "I thought these little bugs were treasures from the sky but I think they were only guiding me to the real gem. Don't you agree?" He turned his head to look over his shoulder at her before spreading his wings quickly sending the bugs into a panicked dance.

He smiled as the fireflies flew about crashing into once another in there fear. He hadn't thought it would be this easy to scare them. As the frantic buzzing slowed he folded his wings to his side and turned about to face the mare. His jaw nearly dropped at what he saw. The little bugs had formed a slightly misshapen circlet above her head. "Ah see." He said regaining him self, "A beacon of light..."

Lumina smiled at the stallion's words as his gentle touch caused a small shiver to run down her spine. "No, not that strange at all." Lumina chuckled softly.

She watched curiously as he moved away from her to the gathering insects and watched in fondness as he stood among their blinking lights. The tiny creature danced about his form giving the stallion an even more mysterious feel to him. But mystery just lured the mare in even more as she watched him with emerald eyes.

"A larger treasue?" She said softly with a slight hesitation. Lumina wasn't a mare who truly understood the beauty she held. In fact, she believed her flirtacious ways and personality was what caught some stallions attentions. It certainly didn't hurt that Lumina had no idea what she held on the physical attraction rate. Afterall, maybe that was what really attracted the opposite sex.

At the sudden, unexpected movement of wings Lumina' jerked her head slightly in surprise. She watched with wonder as the fireflies scattered around in confusion not realizing thecirclet that they had created above her. Tilting her head slightly to the side she smiled and laughed at his words. "I doubt these little ones have attracted you to me. Their ways of life are much different than our own...but...one never knows what the night can bring or do to those who dwell within it's dark grasp."

Flicking her tail she moved daintly toward the stallion stopping only a few feet from him. "So may I ask what your name is? Afterall, I certainly can't refer to you as my dark stranger, now can I?"

Dark chuckled, she hadn't realised he had come down thinking the little bugs were the glint of some treasure. Perhaps they still were in a way. "You'd be surprised at what a little light can attract." He smiled at her then stepped even closer to close their distance to mere inches. "It seems you already know me. 'A Dark stranger', that's exactly right. Most call me Phantom Thief Dark though."

He locked eyes with hers waiting to see if she would recognize the name. If she did his fame was spreading throughout the lands. If not he would only need to work harder. Everyone needed to know who he was and he wouldn't stop until mares came from miles away to spend a night with the famous thief. As cruel as his intentions seemed to some he saw nothing wrong with it. They crawled to him willingly and there was nothing right with turning them away.

She hadn't crawled to him though, she hadn't even walked. He had come to her. It was an odd twist but the results were seeming to be the same. She was under his spell already and she didn't even realize it.

"Phantom Thief Dark? Quite an interesting name and quite the mouthful. If you don't mind, may I call you Dark?" She titlted her head slightly as she threw out her question, completely oblivious to the fact that the stallion was waiting with almost baited breath in hopes that she had heard of his name before. Sadly for him that wasn't the case.

Eyes still locked with the blood red orbs of Dark's Lumina dipped her head slightly. "Seeing as you have given me your name it's only right I return the favor. I am called Lumina."

A firefly decided to fly between the two equines, causing Lumina to break the eye contact and turn her focus to the little creature with a smile. "Their like little beacons in the night sky. They don't create a lot of light but the light they do produce is enough to attract anyone." She looked to Dark pointedly as she said this with a soft look. "The night truly is filled with amazing things." An owl hooted from overhead as it circled the open field in hopes of finding a small rodent of some sort for it's dinner. She peered up at the large bird before turning her attention back to Dark. "And dangerous to those who aren't careful." She chuckled softly.

His tail drooped slightly at her question. There was no recognition in her voice what so ever. He really was a stranger to her. "Of course you can beautiful." He said flashing his charming smile yet again. "So your name is Lumina. It suits you." He took several steps closer as she was distracted by the nightly bird of prey. As she turned her attention back he was right next to her nosing her hair.

"Dangerous...yes...pleasurable even more so." He said breathing in her scent. She smelt like the outdoors on a hot summer day, it made him want more of it. He pivoted so that he stood directly next to her keeping his muzzle buried in her mane. "What do you think...is dark something to be feared or something you'll embrace with your whole self?" As he spoke he stretched his wings laying one across her back to pull her closer. There were so many that only used there wings for flying but he found using them this way lead to activities that were much more fun.

Lumina was a bit surprised to find Dark nosing her mane but her surprise quickly melted away as she relaxed with the soft touch. Eyes closed she listened to his voice which held it's own sense of mystery. A light touch upon her back and the ruffle of feathers was enough to let her know what the stallion was doing. Turning her head she that she looked into Dark's eyes she smilied. "I do believe I already answered that question for you when we first met, but if you truly need to hear it again then I'll oblidge." She leaned against Dark's side, raising her muzzle to his awaiting ear. "As much as I am a daughter ot the light I wholy embrace the night and the dark it brings with it."

With a mischevious grin she nibbled upon the lobe she whispered within before lowering her head and rubbing it against the stallions neck. As much as Lumina was under Dark's spell, Lumina strongly thought that Dark was under her own. How funny that the two strangers could be so closely a like yet different all at once.

Dark grinned at the others answer. If she liked her polar opposite so well already then it was almost guaranteed that he had her under his spell. With this knowledge it was time to start the fun and games. He ruffled his feathers a bit before folding his wings back purposefully sliding his wing over her rump. The first move had been made now to continue the game.

"Follow me..." He whispered in her ear before slowly walking off making sweeping patterns with his long tail to mark the path. He knew the perfect place far from prying eyes. There was a beautiful grove where the flowers were just beginning to bloom. In the day butterflies gather there and in the night the moon reflected off the sleeping buds making it a shimmering paradise. He had found this wondrous place several weeks ago but hadn't had a chance to share it with anyone, until now.

The feathery touch didn't go unnoticed and the brightly hued mare glanced back at the ebony wings. With a curious look she hesitated for a moment as Dark began walking from her, leading her to an unknown place, but curiosity got the better of her and Lumina found herself trotting after the dark stallion. "Where are we going?" She questioned with a soft humor. It was amazing how this stallion just perked every sense of wonder and lust. She didn't mind though. Trying to unravel the mysterious was such a wonderful game though she often found herself wrapped up in its unknown mysteries. It was such a thrilling feeling.

Lightning bugs scattered around the two equines as the mare trotted just off Dark's right hsoulder. Green orbs studied the stallion for a moment before looking ahead in hopes of catching a glimpse of where Dark was leading her. The night was beautiful though and despite herself, Lumina's gazed drifted to the twinkling stars above for a few moments as her ears informed her of Dark's movements.

The vest around his shoulders fluttered as a warm breeze blew over them carrying the scent of flowers. They were close, he was sure. So close that he feared treading upon the delicate plants. He turned to the mare behind him and moved close to her so that no matter where she turned her head and eyes she couldn't see around him. "Close your eyes, beautiful, and follow me..." He turned once again and stood pressed to her side revelling in the warmth she provided.

He waited a few moments then slowly began to move taking unneeded turns and curves. He wasn't sure why he felt that it needed to be such a secret but it seemed like it should be. Of course, if he made it seem like a bigger secret then he was sure to get further. Females seemed to like feeling trusted even if it were something so small.
