I was a young 13 year old Al-Bhed girl with a upbeat personality. I lived with my dad and my brother for almost my whole life. Mom died in a machina accident when I was 2, so I don't remember her.Surprisingly, Vydran and Brother are pretty good at raising a kid, but when they needed some extra help, Vydran's workers would give him a hand. When I was 4, Vydran tought me how to repair, and make machina. Ever since, I have been interested in it. By the time I was 9, I was as good as Vydran, and better than Brother.
It was awfully hot in the Bikanel desert. The exhaustion of the other workers were not a big help to the heat either. There was a run away droid earlier that I accidently started. I mixed two wrong wires because that chatterbox Nhadala distracted me with her story of the movie she saw last night with Buddy. Once I mixed the wires, the droid went berserk, and ran outside of the building. Everybody went after it for what felt like hours until Brother finaly bombed it. Vydran came out of his office and called to me. His face was pretty calm for a man who had one of his droids blown to smithereens, but his voice was as loud as ever.
"Rikku! Get over here!"
"Yes Vydran."
Vydran went back into his office.
"Ha ha, you're in trouble now!" said Brother.
"Ur crid ib oui sufryfgat vnayg!" I said.
Brother grunted.
I walked to father's office slowly. Everybody was looking at me with simpathy and fear. I apologized about the machina. When I got inside Vydran's office, I started talking a mile a minute.
"Vydran, E's cu cunno ypuid dra tnuet. E kud tecdnyldat po Nhadala! E femm byo vun ed, zicd dyga ed uid uv so ymmufyhla. Bmayca tuh'd oamm yd sa."
"Don't worry sweetie, I didn't call you in for that. I have a favor to ask you. Would you mind showing the new guy around?" Father said.
"Uh...Sure! Where is he?"
"In the waiting room. After you are done, show him to his quarters. Room 99. Now behave, and be nice, and don't forget to give him his key card." He reached into his desk to get the key card, and he handed it to me.
"Ok... Goodbye daddy."
"Oh great, another new guy. Probably all cocky like the rest of the new guys. Let's get this done and over with"I thought.
I went into the waiting room down the hall and I saw him. He had smooth spikey blond hair,and the brightest green Al Bhed eyes I have ever seen. His purple attire complimented his soft, tan, handsome face. He was wearing an eye patch on his right eye. I wanted to ask why he had an eye patch, but that would be akward.
"Hello, My name is Gippal. I assume you are my guide right?"
Wow, his voice was as dreamy as him.
I stared to blush, and I was getting nervous.
"H...Hi, My name is Rikku, and yes I am" I said shakly.
"Alright, lets go Rikku" he said in a friendly voice.
We walked around the faction for the tour. First we went to the main workplace. It was brightly lit in the large room, and people were working away at their machina that they were making or repairing. It reminded me of when Vydran told me about santa's little elfs in their workshop making toys except the workers were making machina, and they were nothing like elfs. There was the smell of burnt wires and metal in the air. I introduced him to everybody, and they were all nice to him. We continued on to the cafeteria, outside workshop, the break house, all around untill we got to his room.
"Here it is" I said,"Your room. You are going to need this key card to get in." I handed him his key card.
"Cool, would you like to come in?" he asked. I started to blush a little.
"Uh, sure" I said looking at the floor.
We went inside, and Gippal was amazed. It was like a apartment. He started walking around,and I followed him. It had a living room with medium red painted walls. It had a couch, chair, television, side table with machina magazines, and manuels, and plenty of lighting. It had a small kitchen furnished with a stove, fridge, a counter a table with chairs, and cabnets already with food in it. The walls were a soft blue with a light on the celing. There was a bathroom painted dark green with a tub/shower, a sink, toilet, another celing light,and a cabnet for personal purposes. Gippal finally walked into his bedroom. It was painted purple, and it had a king sized bed with pillows, sheets, and a few blankets. In the corner was a cherry stained,wooden desk with matching chair, next to the bed was a small table with a light on it. There was a dresser that matched the desk. Gippal was lucky enough to get the room in the outer section of home. There were 6 windows with a stunning view of the desert.
"Wow, this is better than my house. Would you like to go to the living room for a drink?" Gippal asked. Wow, I was blushing again, but luckly it was dark enough in his bedroom that he couldn't see.We went into the living room, and he got two sodas from the fridge. We sat down on the couch, and talked. He asked me a couple of questions, about the faction, and what I liked, what my favorite colors were, etc. I answered him, and giggling occasionally.
"I...I wanted to know how you got that eye patch" I said.
"Oh. Well uh..." I interupted him.
"You don't have to if you don't want to"
"It's ok" he said, "Promise you won't laugh?"
"Oh, It can't be that bad" I said
"Ok, to tell you the truth, I don't have any problems with my eye. Since I am so young people don't show respect for me so I put on this eye patch, and now people think I did something dangerous, and they show more respect" He took it off. "See?"
I looked into both his eyes. The light off of the lamp reflected off his eyes, and they shone even more beautfully than before. My mouth opened a little bit.
"What is it" he asked, "Are you going to make fun of me?" he said a tad childishly.
"N...No it's just...Uh, it's getting late"I said, "If you have any questions, just dial 74558 on the phone, or go 3 doors down. It's my room." I blushed again. I mentally slapped myself, stop blushing Rikku geesh! He is just a guy.... a really funny and cute guy.
"Ok, I guess I will see you tomorrow Rikku." Said Gippal. He walked me to the door.
"Goodnight see you tomorrow Rikku"
"Ok,Goodnight"
Gippal closed his door, and I went back to mine with a smile on my face, blushing....again.
