Have you ever had to present your work formally to other people? like in class or at an interview for college or something?
if so, what did you do and how did it go? were you nervous?
I had to do a presentation on Thursday in front of all my class, with a slideshow on Powerpoint. My project was set out like a casefile used by the police..I took photos of mocked-up crimescenes etc and so I dressed up as a detective to give the presentation xp I was really nervous but I got a Distinction for it! xp

i've never really had to present my work formally for people. i mean, i've drawn on my posterboards and such and presented it, but it wasn't like "and this is my drawing" or anything. it was more like "and then the Romans decided the empire should prevail" but i wasn't super nervous or anything.
but your presentation sounds awesome/i wish i could have seen it. i'm sure i would have been entertained!

In my art classes, we have formal critiques. We matt our work, stick it on an easle, and talk about it, then open it up for discussion. At first, it was really nerve -wrecking because I was a freshman and there were alot of senior or junior in the class... But I got used to it.
In my currect painting class(in school) we have weekly critiques. My classmates and teacher never say much to me though... Other than I'm weird. My teacher usually doesn't shut up about how brilliant my work is. It's annoying.
Luckily there's a few kids in the class who hate my guts, and are willing to totally rip into me if they think I'm doing crap. ironically, they're helping me and giving me the feedback I want.

Doug of Akkad I've had uni interviews and we have crits all the time but I've always found those pretty informal. I've not had one of those yet but I know people say they are pretty informal. It's only one or two people who you have to present your work to, not a whole class...unless you have a class activity where you have to mark other people's work, which is what I did.

very nicely done shadow!
i've had to present my art work to many people, mostly in front of my art classes and college reps. none of them were formal, which takes a lot of stress off. i remember once presenting to a college rep from kansas city art institute while i was cry.... sweatdrop .....long story....

it was one of those you had to be there kind of thing. the college rep came to our school to give us an information session on her school and programs, and a few critiques of student works. after seeing a few of my stuff, she decided to count it as an official review and official accept my porfolio for admissions, all the while my art teacher bitched about me infront of the entire class, the class next door and the college rep. the worst part was that my mom just yelled at me that morning for no apparent reason, so basically i got through the entire day by listening to people yell and b***h at me. i guess i couldn't take it anymore and just started crying. i think it's the first time i've ever cried in front of anyone. sweatdrop
