No. I've thought about it with a twinge of guilt. People already think sellers have a huge price-fixing scam going, but as you and I know, per our discussions of annoying selling techniques, there's no cooperation whatsoever. It's not even possible with items which exist in large quantities. It's only really going to work with rarer items.

However, I've really considered talking to some of the regular sellers of the items I've been selling regularly, too. You have to get people who are willing to a) buy out the low-pricers when you see them (this is where I REALLY need help b) agree on a low price that you will try to maintain c) cooperate in the reselling by not constantly outpricing your team members (you might even want to take turns), and never flooding the marketplace in the ways I described in the other thread.

Everyone would have to have a nice chunk of gold to start - and they'd all have to have patience.

I'm sure the whole practice would be frowned upon though - maybe even by Gaia, itself. And in a sense, I do think it's wrong. On the other hand, we're not dealing with savvy sellers across the board. There are tons of people who don't know how to price their items and will always bring things down, and most of the time, they don't even know it.

Well, actually, some do. I've seen threads in the main forums by self-proclaimed heroes who purposefully lower prices in order to give Gaians a break. They are SURE they have done a good deed. What they don't know is that I just bought their deal and am about to make a nice profit on it. wink

Edit: The items I'm working with the most are 2k6 scarves and rebellion face masks. Each item has a unique problem. With the scarves, there seem to be a lot of them and sellers are supplying just a tad faster than the demand. People also figure they got these things for free (or cheap) so pricing way low is no big deal to them.

There IS a demand for the rebellion masks but there's another issue: it's got a store price for some stupid reason. You can even sell it to the store for 625 - half the "store" price. But it's not available in a store. It was a Zurg event thing. I've a feeling this is part of the reason the price is now leveling off to BELOW 4000, when I've had it so close to 4500-5000.

Some people would call that artificial inflation and I believe that is a bannable offence.
I haven't heard much about it other that a rumor of a hidden guild dedicated to that.

Unless I get more information on whether it is allowed in the TOS or R&R I will not encourage that in my guild.

what I do is just vend for myself, and then lend my friend gold if she needs it to vend and vice versa
