Chale and Kimaya
Chale is short for Courtney Hale, that's me. smile
I sometimes go by my maiden name, so to avoid any confusion, it's Myers. Kimaya is my online alias and has been for sometime.
Daydreamer
To keep things short and simple: although I was interested in drawing and sketching from childhood, I never really started seriously developing my skills until I was a young adult. One year for Christmas I was presented with a beginner's D&D gaming box set from my mom and dad, and that began my long journey into my favorite pastimes: role-playing and daydreaming. At some point I realized how much fun it was to draw my own characters from stories I had made up, or other games I had played, and thus my love for art, in specifically- character art, emerged.
Ultimate Adventure
About ten years ago I met my best friend in life, who later talked me into marrying him, and thus became my wonderful and loving husband. There are many things in life which I enjoy, but my true happiness comes from having found this soul to share the rest of this life with.

Hours: most pieces take between 12-40 hours of work depending on the amount of detail.
Almost all of my work is digital now. I work with Photoshop primarily. There was a time when I loved graphite work, but I have spent a lot of time developing my painting skills the last couple of years and so that's the turn my art has taken.
To make a painting, I first do a quick sketch of the basic idea and then use it as a guide to paint over in Photoshop.
