Think, like, massive amounts of rides for all ages and stands selling candied apples and popcorn and hot dogs and soda (or pop, depending on where you're from). People laughing, children having a good time, couples strolling hand and hand while they shared multicolored layers of cotton candy.

And the games! Those stupid rigged games of "strength and skill" with their red and white stripped awnings and the "carnies" calling out for the bravest idiots to try their luck.

It was the perfect time, just as the sun was going down when all the lights were starting to glow their neon colors in the dusk. The giant ferris wheel was spinning, and Reese was in heaven. He thrived on happy feelings, and what was happier than a carnival?

There was a practical reason for making a night on the town: Edge had called in another favor, and gotten Reese a special set of wheels for his wheelchair. They were wider, covered in a thick heavy rubber with treads like a car tire. Originally made for rolling on a beach, Edge wanted to test out the durability of the new wheels...and the sandy soil of the field where the carnival had set up was perfect.

"Poppa! I wanna...I wanna..." Except Reese didn't know what he wanted to do first! He was going to break his neck if he kept snapping his head around like he was.

Agent had gone to the carnival with the intent of having a good time and getting out of the house. Sure, she wasn't that big on the games or other attractions, but... With all the lights and noises, it was something that Noel would probably enjoy as well.

Unfortunately for Agent, Noel was rather good at managing to sneak off and try to get what she wanted by herself. Which meant that after about two to three minutes, Agent realized that the fluffy hand that she'd been holding onto was gone, and that its owner had disappeared into the crowd.

Elsewhere, Noel had happily waddled off, and decided that she'd found the item that she wanted most. Noel had always wondered what it would be like to ride around on a chair with wheels. However, it appeared to her that the chair in question was already being used by a certain boy sea horse.

Still, if there was anything that Noel had learned from TV and the occasional Kindergarten lesson, it was that people could be convinced to give things up when provided with the right bribe. Perhaps these 'tickets' that Agent had given her would work.

"HEY!", Noel called out to him. She then waved the tickets for him to see.

The boy had, like, super sonic hearing when it came to people talking to him. And the key word...hello! So once Noel called out, it was only another turn of the head before Reese saw her standing there with the tickets in the air.

"Hi!" he called, waving his webbed hand in the air as his tail coiled excitedly around the footrest of his chair. He was glad Poppa had decided to leave it there. It gave him something to grab hold of when he was happy!

"Poppa, I wanna thay hi!" Reese informed the man walking behind the wheelchair, pointing off in the direction of Noel. Edge glanced over at the little girl, ruffling the hair upon Reese's head.

"I'll meet you over there, Buddy...just don't wander off."

"Yay!" Reese cheered, starting to wheel himself towards Noel. He liked these new wheels. It took a little extra power to get them moving but once he was rolling, going across this sandy stuff was a piece of cake!

"Hihi!" he said again as he got closer. "I'm Reeth!"

Noel glanced over at Reese, suddenly realizing that perhaps prying the chair away from him wouldn't be possible. With his tail coiled around the wheelchair's footrest, it looked like he was actually part OF the chair rather than someone who was simply using it.

Still, she was sure that he wouldn't mind her riding with him for a short while. Noel grinned and attempted to climb up into the wheelchair once it was close enough and had stopped moving.

"Hi~! I'm Noel!" She chirped happily. " Take tickets and give ride?" She asked as she tried to offer up three tickets for him to take in exchange for being let onto.

Oh wow! Someone to ride with him??? He never thought of that before! But then again, no one had ever tried to climb into the chair with him!

"Kay!" he chirped, not really caring about the tickets and just letting her sit down with him. It was a stretch, she was almost sitting on his lap, but he managed to still be able to hold onto the wheel guards.

Accept they weren't moving. It was hard enough for Reese to move himself in the chair, let alone the weight of an extra person. He tried, oh did he try...his little face all scrunched up in concentration and his arms straining to get the chair going.

"I can't," he somewhat whined, his brow furrowed in a very annoyed V across his eyes and his cheeks puffed out in frustration. "Help!" he called out, glancing over his shoulder at his father, who still dragged behind...chuckling, Reese was sure, at the pair of them.

"Poppa! Help!"

Hmm... They weren't moving... Noel wiggled for a moment in her new spot while she tried to think as to what to do to get things moving. She tried to push the other wheel, and still there was no movement...

It was around that time that Agent had finally made her rounds in an attempt to find Noel that she finally saw the wheelchair. Sure, it was a long shot, but since it wasn't something that Noel normally saw... There was a good chance that she was interested in it.

"Excuse me!" She called out to Edge. "Excuse me! You haven't happened to see a fluffy short kid around here? Gray-ish blue hair on her head, gray fuzz covering most of her body, and answers to Noel?"

Noel blinked at having heard her name called out and tried to stand up from where she sat on in the chair.

"Mooooommmmm~!" Noel squealed with delight. "Move us!"

Agent groaned at hearing her daughter's voice. She muttered under her breath, "Please tell me she hasn't broken or stolen anything yet... PLEASE..."

"That would be her with my Reese," Edge explained as he continued on past her towards the kids. "Looks like they wanna go for a ride." He came up behind the wheelchair, grabbing hold of the handles and gently rocking it back and forth.

"Hold on," he warned, grinning down at the pair.

"Yay! Poppa'th helping uth!" Reese cheered, triumphant fists in the air before he clutched to the arm of the wheelchair. A ride with a new friend! This was awesome! "Hold on, Noel! Poppa goeth fatht!"

"Onthe around the park, Poppa!"Reese called out at his dad, mimicking the line Edge often gave to Wilbur whenever they were going out for the day.

Movement! Yes! Noel eagerly grabbed hold of one of the chair's arms and clutched it tightly. And while she didn't quite know what Reese entirely meant by "Once around the park!", she couldn't help but repeat it.

"Once around the park! Once around the park!"

Agent let a sigh out of relief. So far things looked all right. So long as no one got hurt from the 'ride' all would be well, and Noel would have a new friend. And new friends were always good, since it'd give Noel something to do rather than leave her bored and desiring to get into places that she shouldn't be...

"We'll be right back," Edge assured the mother...before taking off. It was fast enough to be fun, slow enough to be safe, and Edge took it easy on the corners. But still, he rushed the kids through the crowd, making several turns around different rides playing music and attractions with lots of lights. At any moment, if either child showed any signs of fear, he'd stop immediately. Though he knew better with Reese, the other DCorp child was another story and the last thing Edge wanted was to scare her.

Reese did nothing but giggle the entire way around the carnival, holding onto his wheelchair or looking at Noel to make sure she was having fun. Poppa did this a lot around the house...while while it was fun there, here it was just all kinds of awesomeness. Like his adoptive father, though, Reese knew it wouldn't be any fun if Noel wasn't enjoying it too.

Agent nodded and watched Noel and... Reese be wheeled away. So long as the kids had fun, she was fine with it. Still she wondered whether or not she'd have to hide her swivel chairs. As a safety precaution as she didn't want Noel to get any... ideas... as to other fun things to do with them.

As Edge raced them around, Noel squealed with glee. She was enjoying herself very much, although that wasn't going to last the entire ride. As she wasn't properly seated on the wheelchair, and was more on the side than anything else, she began to slip a little.

The slipping didn't bother her too much until she began to have some trouble staying on the chair. She clung even tighter to the chair's arm and had little luck in getting back into a much safer and more comfortable position.

"STOP! STOP! FALLING!" She cried, and her distress was obvious.

That first "stop" was all it took. In what could only be described as the same second, Edge had stopped the chair and reached out for the fluffy child to secure her. He was breathing heavily, but his eyes were calm and there was no sense of urgency in his body language aside from the quick grab. She was safe, she was all right...Edge would never let any of them get hurt, and he didn't want to give either child the impression that he had ever thought otherwise.

"Noel! Noel!" Reese called while making grabby hands at her as well; trying to scoot himself over onto the farthest side of the seat and make room for her. If his father did indeed manage to settle her back onto the chair, he was going to need room for her to sit!

Despite being safe from harm, Noel couldn't help but begin to cry. That had quickly gone from being fun to scary, and now she was calling for her mother as her eyes welled up with tears.

"Mom! Mom!" She continued to call out as she began to flail her arms a bit

Agent had already come running to Noel the moment she'd heard Noel crying that she was falling. She gave Edge a relieved look when she saw that Noel looked to be still in one piece and quickly grabbed her. The penguin child seemed to calm down a bit once Agent had hold of her.

"It's all right... You're okay..." She softly cooed and hugged Noel close to her as the child continued to cry a bit more. After a minute or so, of crying and soft caring words from Agent, Noel seemed to have calmed down.

However, her eyes were now a bit puffy and she still looked a bit upset.

Edge rubbed the back of his head shyly, feeling horrible for what he had done, an embarrassed blush tinting his face and ears. It was easy to forget that not every child was Reese, adjusted already to his father's rough and tumble play.

"I'm so sorry, Miss...is she ok?" Oh, he was going to have to do some serious apologizing to make up for this one. What a fool you've made of yourself, Edge.

Reese tried to peer as his new friend cried into her mother, leaning upwards towards the little penguin with his fingers reaching for her reassuringly. "Thorry, thorry," he mimicked Edge, his face furrowed deeply with worry...nervously wiggling his fingers together and hugging his tail up against his chest.

"Noel ok?" he asked once she had calmed down, feeling shy.
