Today was likely to prove interesting. For the sheer fact of what was planned.
A cobra was the student of the day, one who knew the basics of using his skills. Which had made the most simple things to be taught uneeded for the class. So what was there to teach? Hunting skills, which required prey to be taught well.
That was where the unsuspecting child beside him came in. Revon had been brought along on the trip for the day. Out to the forest often used for classes such as this, where they were waiting for the student in question to arrive. The raven, however, had no idea what the class was for. Only that he was to help with it in some way. It was likely better, or the boy might have panicked a bit at the idea.
Very few people would enjoy being hunted down afterall.
Still, at least he'd taken the hint given that wearing more conventional outdoor clothes was better for the day. Even if the capris and longsleeved shirt wouldn't likely be half as pink as they were once the day was through.

Ter was pleased that he was getting a skills class that wasn't hosted by his father, it was just embaressing! Having to learn from a parent while others were around was even worse so hearing that he was getting a whole new teacher to learn from was something good. He didn't know the one teaching but anyone had to be better then his father...
He came to where he could see the teacher and the one with him, pausing a moment to look back at Baroness, "Be good." He murmured, then shook his hand. One his wrist was a pretty bracelet with a red gem in it. If the dragon behaved herself during class, and learned what she could from it, he would give it to her. The new shiny was something that she very much wanted to add to the collection of random shinies that were on her spines so she nodded her head in agreement. Yes, she would 'behave'.
He slithered forward then and coiled up, "Hello." He greeted them, "Terpsichore Solon and Baroness here for class."

Two sets of eyes were drawn up when the boy and dragon began approaching. "Right on time." Always good measure to have the children get there in a fashionable manner. Promptness was to be a virtue. "Which is good, you'll want to finish before it gets dark." He hoped he wouldn't be keeping the child that long, he had paperwork he could have been finishing up in that time. However, classes came first, so what would be, would be.
As well, he could only imagine how fun trying to catch a black bird, even one in pink, would be for the boy.
Revon was less than pleased. A snake. It just sent a shiver down his spine without him really thinking about it. Then again, why should he worry? It was only a class, nothing dangerous. At least, that was what he thought until Haruki spoke.
"Now then, let's explain the class shall we?" The teacher crossed his arms, giving the dragon a quick glance. "You will be working on your own for this class, your dragon is to stay with me for the duration of it.." Two against one would be an unfair advantage afterall. "The class is a simple test of skills, particularly hunting skills. Are you able to catch something that does not wish to be caught?" It was perhaps at this point that the clueless smile on Revon's face began to drop into slight shock.
"Particularly something that has the ability to get out of your reach if you are spotted. This is a test of using camoflauge and stealth to your advantage." Oh yes, Revon really knew what was coming now. "You will, therefore, be sent to catch Revon here by any means neccissary." There it went, Revon's little world feeling like it had shattered.
"B-but-"
"Revon, the rules are simple. You will be given a five minute head start to hide somewhere in the forest. You will not leave the forest. You will only take flight when you hear or see him, you must land within five minutes of losing sight of him. This includes getting out of trees. If any of these rules are broken I'll pursonally deal with you." Simple enough. "If you elude him until nightfall the class if over and you are free to return." Though it was obvious that Revon was about ready to have a heart attack. Well best to get him moving. "Your five minutes starts now, you should start walking. I'll see you in a bit."
Revon didn't exactly have much to say to that. Though he honestly wasn't happy about this... class. Why couldn't he just be helping someone fly? Still, he wasn't about to hang around. He pushed himself up fairly quickly and didn't bother casting any further looks of disbelief. Haruki had been rather clear in his speech. This was how it would be, and he'd have to follow those rules.
"As for you Ter," once again speaking after the three were on their own. "-don't take this as a chance to hurt anyone. You are to catch hima nd bring him back, but not to harm him. As I said, this is stealth. You should be able to creep up on your prey within it knowing and catch it with little need to harm it until the last moment. That said, you don't harm anyone or you meet a far worse fate that Revon would should he defy me." And in all honesty, he doubted either child wanted to see him upset. He wasn't the nicest person most of the time as it was. "That being said, I believe we've given him a long enough head start. Good luck, and let's see if you can learn anything about being silent and invisable in various surroundings."

Ter sat back on his coils listening to the explanation on the class. Alright it sounded sort of like a game of hide and seek/tag along with a lot of sneaking... he gave a bit of a smile. So then he had to capture that bird boy? He looked over to Revon and watched him as he headed off into the forest to begin his half of the game before he turned back to watching and listening to Haruki. The cobra reached a hand out to stroke it over Baroness's head, "Sit with the teacher while I am doing my classwork?"
She gave a bit of a grummbling sound, she wanted to chase after the birdy too! How unfair... with a grunt he laid down and curled up in a ball, tail thumping against the ground annoyed. The cobra shook his head before glancing back at the forest, "Ok... so catch and return." That sounded simple enough though it was going to be a pain to find the boy to begin with. After that... after he found his quarry he was sure he could catch him!
He blinked up at the teacher's... threat? It was on the tip of Te's tongue to tell him that there was only one redhead that could order him about but resisted the urge. Instead he merely flicked out his tongue before turning to head towards the forest. He would capture the bird and he would do it without hurting him. Just had to catch the bird in his coils, wrap him up, and bring him back right?

It was the basic thing for any parental figure to want to make it very clear that should the child be hurt there would be a price to pay. Even if they didn't admit they cared, which was the teacher's case. Still, apparently it was understood and the child headed off. Leaving the dragon. A brief glance was given to the rather decorated creature before he lifted the book of the day to start reading. Not much else to do while he waited.
Revon was barreling along without much thought in mind. Slightly preoccupied with the fact he had a snake after him. Correct, a cobra. Those were deadlier right? But not only that, Haru had been the one to tell it to catch him? And any means...
The bird slid to a halt briefly as that sunk in. He must have done something really bad to deserve this. Been a really bad bird... but what had he done? Whatever it was he'd appologize for it later, for now... try to find somewhere ot hide. So back to dashing through the forest and trying to find someplace safe to use.
Where, where, where?

Ter slipped into the shadows under a tree and flicked out his tongue to see if he could catch the scent of the bird in the air, the hardest part of the class was going to be finding him he had decided. From there he could work on the sneaking up part... he couldn't really sneak up on something when he didn't know where it was so best he could do at the moment was stick to being against the trees and when he moved forward make sure to try not to slither over something that would make noise...
He had to catch the bird... this was his first real test of his abilities and of himself. He wouldn't fail at this. He just had to remember not to get to into the 'predator/prey' thing. Was it just him or could redheads be moody? Both this new one and his father both... he flicked out his tongue again and didn't catch anything that said that the bird was close to where he was so he set to slithering forward again, looking around, listening, and tasting for what he was looking for.

A minute more of head into bushes running before the bird slowed a bit, huffing as he glanced around. It was fairly quiet, no sounds. He shifted his wings slightly before turning a bit to ensure nothing was behind him. Safe for the moment. He started to shuffle along as quietly as possible, trying to slink along a bush to be a bit less noticeable. At least from one angle, the other side... blarring pink against green. He really wished he'd worn something else. Then again... his hair would have still been a rather pale shade of pink so...
He was doomed.
Maybe he should have read a survival guide or something? It hadn't seemed that important when he was at home, and Haruki hadn't insisted he read one though. Maybe that was what this was about. Maybe it was about how he should have been trying to learn more instead of playing? But even if he had read he probably wouldn't have gone for a guide on this sort of thing. It really didn't seem fair. He hadn't done something really bad afterall. Nothing to warrant being hunted down by a snake.
Still, even with the fact this wasn't all that nice of a situation. He knew better than to break the rules and kept to the ground, peeking around a tree to check for signs of the other boy before hurrying along to the next one. It wouldn't do much good to hide his scent, but he wasn't exactly an expert on snakes. So that hadn't occured to him in the least.
Around the next..? Looked clear. On again. Hopefully the boy just wouldn't find him at all and he could get back to Haru without being caught.

Ter slithered along, tongue continuously flicking out to gather the scents in the air and worked on determining what they were as he moved not wanting to slow down and miss his chance of finding the 'prey'. He paused though at once pointed as he found a new scent, this one wasn't trees, earth, and other nature stuff, this was something else. The bird? It could be from what he gathered from the air. He turned in the direction the bird seemed to be heading in and went that way slithering along a little faster.

Paranoia was a funny thing when it took over. You'd check over your shoulder every fifteen seconds, think you heard noises, and god only knew what you THOUGHT. Revon was a somewhat down to earth person, in his own ways, but the more he wandered along the more a sort of paranoia swept in. Every little rustle was bad news, and twigs snapping?
Well when you jumped ten feet from something you yourself did... there wasn't more more to say. Between fretting over what he'd down to upset his guardian and bring this upon himself and what would happen if the cobra caught him he'd managed to create enough bad scenarios. A whole brother hates me situation all over again. Because frankly, he just didn't know what to do with it. He didn't even have a pillow to hide his head in or anything to drown it out, aside from another snap as the urge to fly off was shoved down.
Just a littl critter running past and up a tree, far out of reach. The boy pressed a hand to his chest watching it a moment as he caught his breath, barely realizing he'd lost it. Then a few more timid steps after a quick look around. "H-how long does this last a-anyway..?"

Ter ducked down behind a tree, alright... so there was the boy that he was following after. He could see him now but it was from a distance and he seemed to be on guard. Hrm... how to get close enough to him? He wondered if he were allowed to do anything other then sneak. Could be be 'sneaky' along with 'sneaking'. He flicked out his tongue as he watched before he lowered himself closer to the ground and slithered along from the tree he was hiding against, through the shadows, to the next closest tree to him, pausing once more to peek out at his prey.
Well... slowly but surely he was getting closer and closer, all he really had to do was stay hidden until he could get in strike range.

As if asking the trees would get anything done. That was silly, Haru would have yelled about that too. A quiet sigh as he rubbed one of his arms. He really really needed to calm down. He was jumping at squirrels and such. Things that were no big deal. If he was too busy worrying about little things he'd miss the big point. Right?
Sadly, he really shouldn't have been trying to bring himself down to earth at that moment. Being a bit paranoid might have alerted him to any small noise Ter might have made. Alas, he only managed to give a half hearted laugh and a moved a few steps forward as he mentally told himself to just keep moving. Only so useful when he'd overlooked oneimportant thing.
The person who was 'It' had already found him. Losing them by moving on wasn't exactly going to work.

This was... this had to be the funnest game that he had ever played before Ter decided as he slithered along forward once more getting closer and closer to the bird that was his quarry. He wondered if he could get the bird he was following to make like... a squeak noise when he pounced him?
That would be funny!
He slipped along, closer, closer then stopped at a certain point and drew in all of his coils. Using a lesson learned from Turner he coiled up and used that as a means for extra power behind his lunged as he came out of the shadows in an attempt to tackle/capture the birdy.

A few more trees passed by before the boy paused at hearing a faint rustle. He glanced over his shoulder just in time to see just what he'd been running from coil down to pounce. Too late, as usual.
The shriek that Revon emitted wasn't exactly a squeak, but it was certainly shrill. That was only a moment before the bird fell back at the weight hitting him, quite certain he was dead meat. Any attempt to flap his wings wouldn't have gotten him out of reach in time, so he'd ended up a mess of feathers on the ground that sort of curled up in a ball.

"Ah-ha! Score!" He said, grinning widely to the point of showing fangs at the sound that the bird had made when he pounced him, amused at what it was. He'd been expecting a squeak but got a sound that could make a person's ears bleed instead. He then stood up to look down at the huddled ball of feathers and pink.
Hrm... well this made it easier right? It wasn't fleeing anymore. Ter reached down to catch hold of Revon, trying to pick him up with his arms and coils. Had to hold on tight enough that he couldn't get away but not so tight that he couldn't breath. Alright, now to head back to the teacher with his capture prey!

There was one main reason feared snakes, one thing that had people hunch down and shudder thinking about it sometimes. That was their bite, more specifically their fangs. So it probably didn't help that Ter had grinned at his triumph, well at least not for Revon's state of mind.
If anything a slight survival instinct kicked in as he tried to back away from Ter. Not that it worked well when he was coiled up to prevent just that. If anything a sense of hopelessness did ensue. Even if he did keep trying to escape to some extent, he didn't have much hope left in him. How had he gotten into such trouble again?
