Skills classes... he didn't usually teach these. Not that it was a problem, simple enough to state a childs inherent abilities based upon their genetics. Simple enough to get them to practice such things. Not as simple to figure out just how they should practice. At least not always.

Though still not as difficult as a fighting class usually was.

It hadn't taken too long to decide how the child was to practice though. A clydesdale, known for strength, some endurance, size, and power. They were bred to be a sturdy draft horse. Certainly the breed was lovely in it's own rights, or at least some people said that, but it was meant to be a sturdy animal that got the job done. Thus, this class would be oriented around that.

Of course, the tradition uses of a clydesdale didn't apply to the child. Working well pulling a cart, or even the standard set for walking could not be expected of the boy. Rather, it would be learning to use that strength that came witht he heavy duty horse genes that was the topic. Now to wait for the child's arrival to explain just how he'd be doing that.

It wasn't that he was running late today persay, as he had given himself plenty of time this go with finding the class that he was supposed to be attending, it was that he was as usual lost. Why did everything have to look so very much the same? If there were signs, arrows, some sort of... well anything on the wall to make one place look different from another it would make the finding of classrooms easier. It had taken him a good amount of time to find Madeline's classroom and as much time to get back to where his parents waited. The same went for today.

A half an hour of searching later, which put him about on time if a few minutes late Valens was slipping into the classroom, looking around before he trotted up to the man that was standing there, ears turning forward. Oooo. Was this his teacher?

"Ahhh! Pretty." He said, tilting his head to the side. So all the teachers then at D-Corp were pretty like Madeline was? His long tail, currently braided back as was his mane, set to swishing in delight.

One minute... two minut-

Ah there went the door. The teacher quickly turned from watching the clock long enough to spot the child clip-clopping it's way to him. Not entirely what he'd expected, but still close enough. Or at least until the second word escaped his mouth.

Pretty... that was not a word most men would enjoy being described with. Still, the silent chiding that it was just a kid, he didn't know. A polite reminder was all he needed. "Pretty is a term when best describing a lady, pleae keep this in mind for future reference." A quick reminder and down to business.

So a few quick steps led him over toward the subject of the class. There' dbe no need for desks today. Just one rather large box, a rope attached to it, and a secret beneath it.

"Valens," reading the information provided by the techs was a wonderful thing, "are you aware that you're built a bit more sturdy than most children. Heavy duty to be frank. With the greater bulk comes one rather endeering attribute you must have noticed, if not you'll find out about it today. That being that you are stronger than the actual child. With this comes a higher ability with pulling." And thus they were getting to the topic of the day. A hand fell to rest atop the solid block. "Below this on the floor is a piece of paper with a little prize written on it. You may move this block in any way you please, be it pushing, pulling, or attempting to shove it over. As long as moving it is by your own means." He'd calculated the weight based upon speculators formed using the abilities of the actual horse. Though lighter due to the childs age and the fact he wasn't an exact horse. The task should have been possible should the child try. "If you can get the paper out the prize written on it is yours. Should you forfeit you give up the prize. Is this understood?"

Ah, perhaps that bit of child psychology the other night had rubbed off a bit. What better way to motivate a child than a mysterious prize?

"Ahhh. Ok." Valens said then filed that away from later, ok so people like Madeline were pretty since she was a lady but what did that make this teacher? "Whats the word for 'boy pretty' then?" He asked, the man seemed smart so he must know what it was.

Of course a moment later Valens was completely distracted away from that or really caring about that, he was going to get to pull something?! "What? I get to pull? Like a Budweiser horse does?" He squeaked happily. That sounded just... awesome! He hurried over to the block to look it over, walking a circle around it. It wasn't like the normal wagon that his Heroes pulled but ti was a start right? The horse child's feet clicked as he ran a circle around the block in thought. So he was strong then? He was 'heavy duty' even, that sounded awesome! He paused again then looked up at Haruki as he added in the part about a prize being underneath of the stone. Woah so he would get a present if he were able to move it out of the way?

The boy's tail set to swishing before he lifted his hands to press it against the side of it and set to pushing on it.

Yes, it was simple ignorance that had caused the flaw. Definitely forgivable. "Handsome, becoming, elegant, good-looking, fine, there are more. Simply look it up in the dictionary." Though some of it was slang, a complete list would be better to give the child, seeing as things might come up in the future. As well, the larger your vocabulary the better. Besides, he didn't seem to be paying much attention anymore.

He was much more interested in the box, and it was obvious. Well that just meant things would go faster, so it was all the better. And eager to learn and better oneself was always a positive way to live, so the child did earn a point or two for that.

Not that it would help him move the box any faster. He'd have to do more than will it to move, he'd have to figure out how to use what he'd been given to the best of his ability. Of course, it might have inched a little when he first shoved, it wasn't like he'd just tossed out a plain old cardboard box. It was heavy, and friction was going to prove a problem. Not a simple cart with wheels, but he'd figured something like that might have been insulting to the child. Seeing as he hadn't known just who the boy's hero was. "Something like that. You'll need to do more than just push it." Sadly, it wasn't something that could easily be explained. Valens would simply have to try a few methods to figure out which suited him most. As well, he didn't have the benefit of dirt to dig his hooves into at the moment, but he'd mention that tip later. It was a common sense thing though.

Valens' ears laid back in concentration as he looked the block over again to think on how to go about moving it before he looked over as the teacher told him the words that could be used to describe 'boy pretty'. He gave a little nod of his head, "Ok, then you are those." He told him nodding in a way that seemed that since Valens dubbed Haruki that then it must be so.

He then went back to the task at hand, running his fingers along the bottom edge to see if he could get ahold of it there, maybe he could lift the box at least a little bit to see what was under. He didn't find any hand holds though... so he looked over again thoughtful. Hrm... He backed up a few steps looking the box over. He then squatted down pressing his shoulder against the box to push at it with all of his weight, though his hooves did slip a bit on the ground that was below them.

The man didn't care much for what the boy thought he was. Besides, appearance wasn't a big deal to him. IF anything it just brought unwanted attention in the end. Best to just leave it be.

As for the box. Well effort wasn't wasted on the thing. It budged a bit as the boy shoved it, sliding across the ground in a similar fashion to how Valen's hooves slid. For even if the floor was a bit of a bother for the boy, so to was it an advantage. Uneven ground like dirt would have had bumps and grooves for the box to fall into and make it harder to shove. So in that way the teacher had made sure that the challenge wasn't too hard. He was just a child afterall. A few good pushes would likely move the thing far enough to show the edge of the paper under it. Which of course listed what the boy's prize would be.

Valens glanced down when he saw the edge of the white that was the paper. Ah! The paper held the secret to what the prize was one it, he had to know. Only the edge of the paper though which meant a lot of it was still under the heavy box. All he could do to remedy that was to try harder. This time he put both hands on the side of the box and started to push again, trying to brace at least one hoof though that was easier said then done. None the less though the box was moving... or felt like it was moving. Maybe it was just his hooves that were? Hard to tell aside from checking the progress he made against how much paper was showing.

Indeed the box was edging along. It might have been a bit of work for the boy to shove it along, but didn't that make the prize at the end all the sweeter? And the point was to challenge the child and make them more aware of an innate skill that had. Not to give them an easy run through. Push them to the limits, that was the purpose.

"Make sure not to rip the paper by trying to pull it out to soon." Was the only tip he really had for the boy. He was pushing it well enough on his own, and it was best to find the way he found easiest. He wasn't built exactly the same as a horse, so the usual way wouldn't work quite as well. Still, the little test was almost over. A few more good shoves should make it safe to pull out the paper.

Valens was quite excited, he could in fact see the paper. He couldn't exactly read what it said yet but soon enough he would get it, would figure it out... just had to keep pushing. He started to try to push it harder, faster... he was getting a sort of sheen to his brown hair as he worked up a bit of a lather but enjoyed it none the less. After all he had to become strong if he were ever going to be like his heroes. This was just step one to his goal... not to mention he wanted badly to now what was on that paper.

The paper was face down aside from a little bit of neatly written cursive on the upside. Which read 'Prize' plain and simple. On the opposite side was the actual prize. Which was something the teacher had guessed would be good. Based simply on the sort of things Revon fawned over. Who knew how well that would work for Valens, but they'd be finding out soon.

The box had shifted enough that the boy could safely snag up the paper should he choose. To which Haruki had turned to get the object from it's drawer. The objective had been reached so wether the boy plucked up the paper before he saw the thing didn't matter much. So after rounding the desk near the front he pulled open one of the drawers and plucked up the brown plush from inside. Revon had caught sight of it the night before and tied a ribbon on it's neck, which seemed to clash horribly with the natural colours. Of course, he wasn't exactly a fashion genius so what did he know. He's simply left the thing be. The boy could take it off later ifhe wanted to.

Now then. The little horse toy in hand he turned back to check on the boy, waiting for him to come get his prize.

Valens starred for a moment at the sheet of paper that said 'Prize' on it, confused. Wait... was his prize a piece of paper labeled as prize? He picked it up to look it over before he carried to the teacher. He was about to ask him what it meant when he saw in the man's hands a stuff horse. The boy's eyes widened a bit before he bounced on his hooves making a lot of clicking sounds, "Ah! Is that for me?!" He asked, excited. The stuffed horse was so cute!

He nodded briefly as he took the paper from the horses hands and dropped the plush down in it's place. "Yes, it is." He seemed pleased, obviously toys were a universal thing. Or at least something similar to the child worked well. Still, the point was that the boy was happy and the class had gone smoothly.

"You're excused to go home now, just remember that you won't get stronger without working to improve. The more use muscles get the stronger they will be." To an extent, but the child probably wouldn't understand how the limitations worked. "Nothing comes easily."

Valens bounced happily back and forth on his hooves as he looked the horse over, so cool! It was the same color that he was! In his excitement he didn't really think, instead just wrapped his arms around his instructer in a happy hug as he'd done with Madeline before turning to go tail swishing rapidly as he went. This horse was so cool he couldn't wait to show his parents!

Though that meant finding his way back to them... ah well he'd make it there eventually.

Apparently the assumption was correct, the boy did seem to be rather excited. Perhaps a bit too excited. The more placid expression shifted into discomfort as the boy quickly hugged him before practically bouncing off out the door to go home.

Annoyance was evident as the child dissapeared out the door, arms quickly crossing. "What is it with kids and hugging?" A quick huff as he turned to set the room back into a more orderly fashion. He'd just have to start laying down a new rule at the beginning. No hugs. Period.
