Imagine this scenario: You are sitting in class, and you feel your tampon leak. You know you have only a few minutes until it stains your clothes. You ask the teacher to go to the bathroom. All fine and dandy, but when you get to your locker there are people in the hall. You feel like they are watching you as you get another tampon from your locker. You dart across the hall and into the bathroom. You are safe, now.

sweatdrop Whenever I have to change my tampon, there always seems to be people standing near my locker. I'm always afraid of getting a new tampon because then they'll see... Yeah I'm pathetic, but what do I do? It's embarassing...

I know where you're coming from. I used to be super embarassed to be seen getting another tampon.

If you can keep some in your backpack/bag, do so. Tampons are easily stored in your bag because they are so small. Look for brands with "purse-proof" wrappers. Tampax Pearl offers some of the best I have found. Most wrappers are destroyed by other stuff in the bag rubbing against them, but the Pearl wrappers are invincible!

I eventually got over it when it started pissing me off that my schoolmates were so immature. In 8th grade, some kid two lockers down made a snide remark as I got a tampon out and I basically told him where to go and where I was going to put the used one if he didn't grow up. After seeing his face imagining the old one on his English book, I realized that it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Your period is natural. Women will eventually realize this when they have their period, but a lot of guys will still laugh (generally the ones who still laugh when someone says "p***s). We all grow out of it, but it takes a little willpower to ignore or otherwise get over the weird looks and mean remarks of the idiots who are still too immature to keep their thoughts to themselves.

I agree with Lilac.

Personally, I don't think it's a big deal. I'm a female. People can assume that I get periods sometimes. I really don't care if they know when I have it, you know what I mean? xp

When I was in school, I pretty much did not care at all who saw it. At work, on the other hand, I would try to hide it more since it does not necessarily strike me as being very professional. When I was at work and wanted to change, I would wrap a pad up in a tissue and slide it into my pocket. You could also slip one into something that looks like a makeup case.

I hear ya. That always sucked.
What i've recently started doing is carrying a small purse. I don't liek doing it but it has doen wonders for me & the main one is carrying my tampons. Before that I always stuffed them in my bra under my boob. mrgreen
As you can see i'm a pretty open person & all of my firends will know when i'm on my period. But hey, everyone is different. Fortunate;y i'm not around people who still laugh at the word "p***s" so I guess i'm grateful for that. So I can agree with the others that it will pass & having your period is just ordinary living for women.

You know, I know it's something you don't really want to advertise, but it's a fact of life that girls have their period. You can hide it the ways others have suggested, and if someone says something, you can always say, "Don't piss me off, I'm obviously PMSing!"

Anyone who makes fun of you for being on your period is an immature dumbass anyway, and not worth the thought.
