ABOUT SAFRINNI
--------------------------

Name: Safrinni
Age: Infant
Influence: Snowy Egret
Gender: Female
Eyes: Amber
Hair: White with a single black stripe

Personality: Safrinni is very skittish and shy. She is slow to trust and even slower to open up to others due to her solitary nature. Once you have befriended her, however, she is a very gentle and loyal friend who will make every attempt to offer comfort or counsel if allowed. Though she doesn't like to cut herself off from the pulse of communication completely, and shows such by venturing into public on occasion, it is plain to see that she is very much a wallflower. She is most at home when curled up with a book and much prefers the nighttime as there are fewer people up and about making noise.

Mate: N/A
Children: even moreso N/A
Likes: reading, solitude, musicals, quiet places, running water, nighttime
Pet Peeves: liars, loud noises, being spoken for, being condescended to
Fears: destruction, death, aggression, the ground
Favorite Color: dark blue, though ideally, she prefers starry objects or things in the likeness of night
Favorite Food: lox on toast
Favorite Scent: fresh night air
Talents: ???

Appearance: Thin, alabaster-skinned, with a stripe of black that travels up the bridge of her nose to cover her large amber eyes in a mask. Her hair is snowy with a black skunkstripe that travels down its back, falling between two small black-tipped wings that mimic her tapered elven ears. Her skin is festooned with yellow runes that were likely a result of the relic her spirit took up habitat in. Around her neck, she wears an ornamental golden collar with draping shoulder chains that has been with her since her summoning and may have carried over as an artifact from her previous life.

Previous Life: Safrinni's life was unextraordinary by Ieldi standards. Her mother died at an early age from blood poisoning and she was left in the care of her father. Her father, an overbearing and very short-tempered man brought his daughter up in a very strict environment. Rules were to be upheld, deadlines were to be met, and there was to be no nonsense about any of it.

Frinni, a gentle and shy girl, became quite browbeaten by her father's gruff countenance and, while she loved him fiercely, became terrified of loud male voices. Her only solace, since she was not often allowed to socialize between housekeeping and her studies, were fiction books. The kindly woman running the village library at the time recognized the girl's plight and much enjoyed seeing the Frinni's face light up when a gripping story whisked her away into another world for at least a little while. So much so did she enjoy it that, in good faith, she began to allow Frinni to take books home with her, despite the fact she ordinarily only loaned to adults.

Safrinni's greatest joy became her stories and novels which she would close herself up in her room late at night to read after her father had gone to bed. While she was immersed in the pages, she took herself away to any number of different lives....somewhere where her mother was still alive and her father was still happy. Where she didn't cringe whenever strangers passed her by and had many friends.

When The Awakening happened, Frinni was in the awkward stage between adolescent and adult, still lonely but having gotten enough of herself together to find work at the library. The kindly woman who had once lent her books had since retired, replaced by a hawk-eyed old man who was brusque and cold, but thankfully not as strict or loud as her father. In exchange for her services, she was given room and board with permission to borrow whatever struck her fancy.

Much as she'd been a ghost in life, when she was destroyed along with the rest of her race, she took on the form of a barely-visible, unimportantly-gray spirit that, for years, hovered in the darkness, out of sight of any who'd seek her. What business did SHE have coming back to life, after all....?

On the otherwise-plain shelf, various colorful artifacts have been placed, the predominant theme seeming to be blue, silver and white. Their meticulous arrangement suggests that they have been arranged and rearranged several times until they reached their owner's satisfaction.

On either end of the shelf hangs a decorative lantern between which a small array of tiny bottles containing various white, blue, or silver elixers, charms, and potions have been placed. Among them, there are two delicate caged butterflies and a small bowl containing a sapphire-colored betta who swims lazily. Above it all, A singular dreamcatcher hangs, its strands of silver and ornamental beads shimmering in the shaded light

A bit further up, arranged in a semicircular pattern are various plush toys, in front of which is a large snowglobe portraying a secluded tropical glade.

Nearby, a small assortment of foods have been arranged. The drafty temperature of the altitude helps keep the food fresh so it won't spoil, though you suppose it is occasionally replaced should it go bad or stale.

Finally, near the edge of the shelf, is a row of ornamental candles, interspersed among them, various strange little oddities. Some seem to have been attracted by the light.

Set slightly away from the shelf of possessions, seeming to want a place of recognition all their own, another set of artifacts has been arranged.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From Zydeco -- A moon-like orb sits stoically near the edge of the shelf. It has been placed on a small cornflower-colored pillow to keep it from rolling away and it seems to emit mysterious light. As you draw nearer, you note that a piece of paper, not in writing you recognize has been carefully tacked to the floor of the shelf beside it. On it, reads:
Quote:
In my normal romp through the forest, I stumbled over a root and tumbled down into a grotto. When I lifted myself up I found 6 shining orbs. They seem to be rather old. I trundled back to the tree with all 6 and decided to pass them out to the Ieldi owners. Their new shelves could use a bright and shining splash of color.

This orb spoke to me and reminded me of your own Ieldi, so this will go to you.

~Zydeco~

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From YoukoChylde -- A small yellow-orange kittybomb beanie toy much like the darker blue one you saw on the main shelf sits beside the orb. An index card has been placed beneath the weight of its forepaws reading:

Quote:
Dear Karma -

I thought this might make a good addition to the plushie collection.

-Youko

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From OniAja -- A short distance away from anything within its reach saved for an opened and very-gnawed looking bag of plant food, a smiling flower sits. Yes. Smiling. Where its middle should be, a small feline face peeks out at you with a grin. Taped securely to the floor of the shelf are the remnants of a crayon-scrawled note which seems to have been devoured halfway. What's left of it reads:

Quote:
Daer Karma,(the k happens to be backwards, that sweet little retard)

Hope you attract a pretty spirit. How are you? Look I wrote in crayon! Oh yah, I got you dis flower. It eats paper be ca--

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From Zero Dream -- A little white kitten plush with angelic wings sewn into its back is weighing down another piece of paper out of the paper-eating flower's reach. Its little glass eyes twinkle as you bend over to read what its note says:

Quote:
Hey Karma~

I've seen those this morning when I was lurking around in the markets, I tought you and the future ieldi would like it. Trough birds don't usually like cats, heh ! Well, you never know, uh ? Nice little plushie collection, that you have, hopefully this will prove to be a worthy addition.

Ill seeya soon !

~Zero

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From SillyAngelKitty -- A plush butterfly in several shades of blue lays dormantly on the floor. As you draw near it suddenly flutters its wings, the fabric whispering softly against the floor of the shelf. Tied around its neck has been affixed a note reading:

Quote:
Dear Karma,

I saw this and thought it would be a wonderful gift to give to you as a congrats on getting your relic!!! It has been enchanted to fly a bit.

Silly

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show. From Valora Voldemort -- Another kittybomb beanie, this one light azure in color with bird-like wings extending from its back sits near the butterfly, weighing down a note written in violet ink with calligraphy-like script. The note reads:

Quote:
Karma Lady,

For you I leave this beanie,
With a cute tag and special wingies.

Signed,

Lori

Friends & Family
----------------

Safrinni's Friends and Family
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Karma -- chosen as one of the first to attempt to lure an ieldi spirit into a relic, Karma was all too eager to embrace the chance. Through determination and coaxing, she was able to capture Safrinni's fancy by offering her books and a selection of musicals to listen to. While much of her mothering to the resurrected ieldi has been mostly trial and error, she is determined to do the best she can.

Daruma -- as her chosen consort is Karma, Daruma is apt to visit Safrinni's shelf whenever she feels she can make the journey into the tree. At first, being in the presense of a diety was utterly terrifying to the young ieldi, but as time has gone on, she has come to accept Daruma as something other than an untouchable goddess. Through encouragement, she has learned to refer to the diety of future as simply 'gran'.

Erik -- Karma became his adopted mother before the luring process began and found a bond with him immediately by inviting him to the shelf to oversee the setup. He has a love for knowledge and curiousity that knows no bounds. Much like Frinni, he is also shy and gentle and, as such, the two are not threatened by one another. In fact, Erik is one of the few people Safrinni looks to as a peer.

Zoof -- while tiny and harmless, Frinni is not especially fond of Karma's kun kun simply due to how spastic and chittery their species is. It might also have something to do with the fact that, due to her colors, Zoof is reminiscent of a very large and hyperactive katydid. Nonetheless, Zoof often attempts to repair the rift between herself and Safrinni with occasional offerings of dandelions or shiny rocks.

Tikki -- loving and warm, Tikki acts as Safrinni's 'therapy dog'. When the ieldi becomes upset, this kyunru is the first to offer her comfort by wrapping around her and keeping her warm. Frinni's trust for Tikki was immediate and fierce for one reason or another. Perhaps its because Kyunrus don't necessarily talk back...

Mekakushi -- Karma's live-in muscle. He's her equivalent of an adopted "son" and resents every minute of it whenever she asks him to kindly get off of his rear and help her with something. If it were not for him, the shelf setup would have been much more tedious a process. While Frinni doesn't see much of him (nor is she sure that she wants to), she doesn't outwardly hold any dislike for the sour-tempered raccoon boy.
