Simply, Sione stopped in front of the charms and smiles lightly to the old crone behind the table, dressed up like a gypsy no less. Looking over a few choiced ones; she picked up a cross with a circle around the top that is a celtic cross, a blue upside down lotus, and a rather odd charm then gave the old crone a couple coins for her service then looked up at Mikkal. "You studied philosophy?" she asked him, due to him reciting something that sounded awfully like religious verdicts of life and death.

"I studied living." he answered back, the corners of his mouth turning up again, smile faintly deformed by the scar through his lip, which yeilds with an ghost of reluctance to the expression. "Perhaps that is the same thing, in the end?" He glances over the charms again, but doesn't select any, though he gives the woman a polite nod.

"That is true. Philosophy in my opinion is a bunch of opinions, spouted by men who keeps mistresses and smoke their days away," Sione simply said as she pocketed the charms in her small grey bag. She looked around once again, then walked lightly over to the rugs and blankets area. "You sound like you're a pessimistic person," she said, as she looked up and gave a hint of a smile and shook her head, then look through the pile of blankets for a preferred one. After a few moments of searching for the right colors and design she wanted, Sione took a look at Mikkal then went right back to searchin once again. Pulling out a grey patterened blanket that appeareed to be thick and big enough for a cold winter's night. She then discreetly pulled another from the side, then paid the merchant without a single glance and looked at Mikkal. "Surely you never been on a pirate ship before, have you? It can be cold at some times," she murmured, then a light pink tinged her cheek as she handed him a thick quilty blanket. Feeling a bit guility for getting him something with probably the notion in his head of he has to get her something, Sione wandered ahead a bit.

((d'aw. XD <3 Gotta find you somethin. <3))
"Am I?" He sounded somewhat surprised by this characterisation, but then laughed, eyeing some bracelets and little dolls in amusement. "But then again I have heard the Germans characterised as a dour lot." He joked. He thought of himself as a realist, after everything that had happened. No miracle had happened save that he had survived, which, he supposed, could be considered a watered down sort of miracle. "Not on a pirate ship no..." he agreed, turning back in surprise as she pressed the handsome, autumn colored blanket into his hands. "I....Thank you!" he noted in open surprise, amber eyes widening. He did feel the need to reciprocate...somehow, but he wasn't quite sure how just yet. Something would occur he was certan of it though, though he moved to catch up again.

[ Oh, Sione find charms really cute. She collects them ^-^. I buy them from the Thabara. She has some really really cute charm pendants in her item shop. <3 ]
"Most certainly a dour lot," Sione added teasingly as she simply kept the blanket close to her chest as she looks around, then looked over her shoulder at Mikkal. "What keeping you?" she asked, and saw him paced faster to catch up with her. She looked at him with slight amusement lingering in her seaweed green eyes. "I guess the rumors are true.. german men are slow," she said as she added a teasing laugh to show that she was only joking in case he didn't take it well as one.

"Well some of us have long legs to make up for it." he chuckled, reddening faintly at the joke. "Pardon my distraction....I was just looking at something." Something he might have to go back for before the trip was out. Just perhaps when there was a moment of distraction so that he could surprise her in something of the way she had him. "But perhaps being slow is not always a bad thing? I mean if you want something done right, ask a German. Look how the english brew beer....terrible stuff."

"I don't drink beer so I don't know," Sione said haughtily as she looked at Mikkal with an upraised eyebrow that only cause her face to become more fine than before. "All I have to say is that we english make good food. Yours is stuffed with that.. naaasty saurkraut," she said as she giggled, smiling jovially at Mikkal. "Why you germans like that stuff?"

"Not at all? God in Heaven woman, what do you drink?" He laughed, openly amused by her haughty expression. "I'm afraid we will be somewhat short of champagne at sea, though perhaps you prefer a measure of rum?" Which for it's own part countered some of the taste of water sitting for long stretches in wooden barels. "What on earth is wrong with Saurkraut? It's pickled cabbage. I've seen cabbage in your english dishes." He pointed out.

"I preferred mulled wine," Sione stopped and looked at Mikkal. "And what you just said? Cabbage in english food? HA!" she said as she poked him in his arm then withdrew her finger and placed one hand on her cocked waist. "Saurkraut is too... ew," she said, laughs. "But hey if you can manage to convince it taste good.. I salute you, german man," she said as she gave him a upraised eyebrow once again.

"One assures you, cabbage is not exclusive to dinner tables in Germany." He noted, pointing a finger in her direction as well. "Not Saurkraut perhaps, but still." He laughed, deeply amused by her reaction. "Besides, such an argument from someplace well known for 'steak and kidney' pie. Though perhaps that also is too much for your delicate palate?"

"Not really no. Althought it just a bit..strong in flavor," Sione said as she simply shrugged her shoulders, looking around at the stands set up for their shopping and eating pleasures. "It just been a bit too long. I forget some of the delicacies that they have now," she murmured and walked over to the fruit stand and looked through the red apples. There was a noted tone of sadness to her voice, also with a mix of contentment.

"Well, this too may change..." He offered, selecting two ripe looking apples and handing a coin to the vendor before handing Sione one. Fresh fruit would be harder to come by at sea, save for the stock of citrus to stave off Scurvy, so he always enjoyed it at shore when he could, after learning that long lesson. "Here. Good way to celebrate. WE shall make our own little delecasies, hm?"

Sione gave a Mikkal a light smile and nods at him in undue respect. "Of course. Sounds really good," she said as she bit into the ripe red apple and giggle slightly, pulling it away as she wipes at the bit of apple juice that was running from the corner of her mouth. "Ehm.. sorry," she said, giving off a slight chuckle.

"Sailing together, as we will be." He points out with another grin at her enjoyment of the apple. "I see no reason to bother with courtley manners. This is, also, Tortuga." He pointed out, gesturing with one hand before biting into his own apple and giving a long sigh of contentment, after indicating the bustling, chaotic croud, as wild and strange as a flocks of exotic birds. "These..." he said thoughtfuly after a moment. "I always miss at sea."

"I like that idea.. but I'm afraid alas that manners are engrained in me," Sione said as she took another bite of the apple and chews on the piece thoughtfully as she watches Mikkal. She thought of quite several things of him, but many she banished because it would required a relationship based on trust and.. the forlorn subject of love. "Why don't you buy some and bring it with you?"
