I'm considering getting contact lenses for when I do sport, because my optometrist offered me a free two week trial. So now I am thinking over it, hearing other people's comments and such, trying to form my own opinion based on facts as well as expreiences and opinions of others. If you have any advice, warnings, comments, etc., please post.

Also, I am getting my new glasses on Saturday. This is my fourth pair. [-.-"] The contact lenses most likely would only be used during the times that I have sport, because I like wearing my glasses. [^^;]

At first I got contacts for when I do kendo, but in the end, I decided I should wear them more than glasses. My eyesight's horrible so the prescription I need is more expensive and they never have it. Plus I don't like glasses, mine always slips down my nose, I look worse in them, and I think the pair I have right now aren't strong enough for me at school. Although, in the beginning, I hated taking them out and putting them in.

This Saturday I'm collecting my new glasses, but at the same time I'm going to start the trial. My mum has already booked the appointment for me. During this appointment they will teach me all the important stuff about contacts: how to put them in, take them out, clean them, store them, what not to do, etc. Then they will give me a pair and for two weeks I will be able to use them as much as I want, and generally just get a feel for them. After that time is over I have to return for another appointment and determine whether I want contacts or not. I'm looking forward to this, because I've always been curious about contact lenses, but not really interested in using them.


That is a philosphy I have never encountered before, but it makes a lot of sense.



Yeah, I think I'll only use them at taekwondo. I started thinking of contacts last year when my school had mandatory swimming lessons.
My eyesight is just weird. My left eye is twice as bad as my right eye. As a consequence, for my glasses the left lens is twice as thick as the right lens.
This is my fourth pair of glasses. I have a fetish for glasses. If I get contacts, the first thing I'm gonna do is go and buy myself a pair of sunglasses.
To be honest, the part I'm dreading most is puting them in and taking them out. It's not complicated or painful, is it?

LOL, since this is my fourth pair, I have already had plenty of time to realise what I like when buying frames. And thank goodness for health cover. Ahahah... Cutting down the cost of my glasses.
I'm very short-sighted. With this size font, sitting half a metre away from the computer, I need to squint to be able to read.

My new glasses are rimless, so they have to used reinforced glass and make sure the edges aren't sharp, etc. Therefore it takes longer to make, and is also more expensive. But I don't mind. Health cover! Claimed back $50 from the price.

I am getting One soon I think sweatdrop I broke 8 pairs already and I've only been wearing glasses for 1 year xd

I have contacts but I just wear glasses all the time cuz Im too lazy to stretch my eyelids five o' clock in the morning...

i don't need glasses or contacts, but I tried on a pair of my friends glasses and i thought I looked wierd. If you have never wore glasses before then I would suggest contacts. i say that because if you decide to wear glasses it will change the way you look. Smae with the contacts. I would just wear contacts, mainly because i mess with my eyes alot and my glasses would get ruined. Plus I might brake my glasses, and I don't think yo can brake contact lenses.
