"What the hell?" Zagaa'tamanio muttered waking up to find herself on the other side of the oasis from where she had last been. It made no sense to the young cub but she did her best not to let it bother her. Atleast the b***h named Lake was gone, for now.
Tama's mind weighed heavily on her shoulders as she thought about her convesation with her red marked sister. It pained the cub deeply that the other refused to acknowledge that they were related. Shrugging she knew that nothing could be done now, the other had made her choice and Tama wouldn't force her to change her mind.
Now that she was awake and aware of her surroundings she set forth looking for one of her siblings, preferably one of the 'twins' since they would be easier to talk to rather than Chau because of her younger sisters lack of hearing.
That didn't mean that she didn't care for her young deaf sister, just that she would talk to the other later. A sigh escaped the father-look-a-like's maw as her yellow eyes bore out on the grounds before her.

Dark-toed paws dug into the sand and dirt, smushing a desert bug into the ground. Cold yellow eyes didn't even so much as glimmer as the dark-minded cub sneared. "Insignificant ANT..." It was no ant, of course, but a millipede. They were all worthless to Kimiko. A scarab caught her eye, bearing a very colorful shell. Color... She despised it. With a snarl, she smacked the creature, watching it fly off in agitation.
One ear flicked as the sound of another approaching reached her. She dearly hoped it wasn't one of her half-sisters. She could barely stand any of them. She barely tollerated her litter sisters, for taht matter, though she held respect for the eldest and had some level of affection for her 'twin'. But not much. Turning, she prepared to make a snark comment, but the sight of her eldest litter sister stopped the comment. Putting on a big of a dark smile, she padded over. "Well, hello, sister... What brings you to this bounty of death?" She motioned a black-toed paw at the many crushed insects around her. Some had come to nibble the carcasses of the dead and perished in the process.

A smile crossed the maw of the eldest as she laid eyes upon the darker 'twin'. "I see that you have not changed from birth." Tama told her sibling in a calm tone of voice as her tail flicked behind her. The cub could remember the first day they were born, how she could feel Kimiko fighting her way to their mother. "I would like to talk to you, if you do not mind that is."
Tama walked forward toward her younger sister. "As you know our mother has left us, our father is dead, barely anyone remains within the pride....We struggle for survival day by day. Barely surviving, barely feeding ourselves on the small prey that we can hunt." A pause came from her as she forced herself to continue. "Lake has disowned us. She refuses to believe that we are related....She has made her choice, Misae wants to escape this place....." Another pause before she continued "However we are to young to leave this place on our own, I believe that it is best for us to wait for our mother, I just know that she is on her way back....She was grief stricken...."
Her yellow eyes searched her sister for any signs of emotion before finishing with. "You do not hold it against her do you? .......Anyway I wanted to know of your opinion on the matter."

Black tail flicking, Kimi sat down and watched her sister, listening. "I do not mind. The insect squashing only satisfies so much." She was loath to admit it, but even she enjoyed SOME company. Her tail curled, eyes narrowing just a bit. "Our sisters are traitors to our bloodlines." She shook her head, frowning deeply. As little as she enjoyed color... To be abandoned was, to her, betraying. Their mother, though... "I will not hold it against her. After all, sometimes one must leave to find the ideal place." Another twitch of her tail. "I asked that black and white oaf about that. He's been outside the oasis." After a moment, a pause for thought, Kimiko stood up. "Let's leave this wretched place, Tama. The adults clearly know the way out of here, or some of them do. We can force one of them to take us away from here. There's nothing here, the pride is falling apart." A fire danced in her golden eyes, filled with loathing of the oasis and many of their half-sisters and the lionesses that bore them. She wanted far away from these simpleton idiots, VERY far away.

"Thank you." Tama told her younger sister when she told her that she would not hold it against their mother. The cub's attention was then focused on the words of the black cub. A nod came from her as a reply as she chose her next words carefully. "There is nothing here, that much is true and I do want to get out, but where would we go?"
After those words silence filled the air as the green striped cub's gaze casted to the grass beneath their paws. "What will happen when mother returns to find us missing, if we leave now that is?"
Zagaa'Tamanio always had to think things out, it was how she kept them alive so far. A sigh escaped her maw as her mind raced, trying to think everything through

Spying another bug, Kimiko paused and smushed it. Worthless things... Shaking the bug parts off, she looked back at her sister. "It's simple, we'll just walk until we find a place suitable. Besides... One of those males should lead us well enough." Her tail flicked as she examined one forepaw, black toes wiggling a bit. "As for Mother... We'll leave a message with one of the other adult lionesses. She may get the idea to get out of here with the rest of our sisters..." It was clear that as young as she was, Kimiko was bored with the oasis. There wasn't much there, anyway. They needed to leave and find something better.

Kimiko's proposition appealed to Tama but as much as she wanted to leave she couldn't leave any of her siblings. She promised Misae that they would leave together.....And Chau....what would happen to her? The youngest of the litter was the weakest of them all, the most prone to danger because of her inablitity to hear.
"As much as I wish to leave, I cannot leave the others behind....I also fear that most have already left us, I saw the pink one leaving with one of her daughters not too long ago.....I haven't seen any others but them." Tama bit down on her lip as she tried to think things through. "We do need to get out of here, but my duties keep me from leaving until I know that the others will be fine without me."
The cub's yellow eyes glanced at her sibling with slight sorrow. "I am sorry Kimiko, I wish to leave but I cannot leave the others behind."

The monochromatic cub flicked an ear, watching her oldest litter sister. "Very well, then..." She sighed a little, looking around. Assured nobody was around, she went over and rubbed against Tama. "You, of all my sisters, will I miss.." Of her five litter sisters, Tama had to be Kimiko's favorite. Perhaps it was the fact that only they, of the whole six, had their unseen father's eyes. Or perhaps it was the seemingly shared attitudes. She couldn't put her paw on it, but Kimiko loved this one sister, out of all. Her whole heart was in the statement - She would miss Zagaa'Tamanio.

Tama smiled softly at her monochromatic sister. She nuzzled the other's neck lightly. "I will miss you as well." This was the first sign of affection that she had shown any of her sibling. At least physically. "If anything should happen where we do not have contact with each other I want you to know that you will always be in my thoughts." Her statement was true, she would never let her siblings leave her thoughts. She never would be able to. "I pray that we will be able to see each other again."
There was an ache in her heart, she knew somehow that she wouldn't see her sister again, not for a while, she might once more but something was telling her that something would happen and she wouldn't. She couldn't do anything but except it.

"And you'll always remain in my thoughts, and my heart." Her tail curled a bit as she leaned on her sister. "And I, too, hope to meet again... Someday..." When, only the gods knew. But in her heart, Kimiko hoped it wouldn't be when both were about to die from old age, at the least. She didn't think she could stand to be away from Tama for THAT long. Reveling in the moment, the monochromatic cub closed her eyes, breathing in her sister's scent for what felt like the last time.

"I'll always be looking for you." She whispered into the other's ear. She nuzzled her once more before taking a step back. A sad yet happy look to her. "Always." The older female repeated with a nod and light smile. She then took a few more steps backward.
"I have to leave....I have things I must do. I wish I could stay with you longer but I fear that I can't." Tama looked sincerely sorry about having to go but continued to back up. "Remember Kimi, I love you."

She wanted to say the words, but she couldn't. For some reason, Kimiko choked on the word 'love,' unable to express what she felt. Watching her sister, she nodded, then padded towards the distant horizon. "If I ever find myself in the presence of a cub with green like yours... I'll name it Tama." She gave her sister one last smile, then turned and ran along the path she'd often seen the generals taking, following the well-worn path and the deeply set paw prints. She'd probably never return to that oasis.

Zagaa'Tamanio watched as her sister padded away, knowing the even though the other wasn't able to say it that she loved her. It meant so much to her, especially from Kimiko. It was because she knew that the black and white female didn't really care for any of her sibings EXCEPT her.
"Thank you Kimi." She whispered softly before turning the other way and trotting off
