IndentThe rain came like a crashing wave against rock. People ran inside their homes, businesses, and cars. A thunderstorm was coming, and everyone wanted to get home to their families.

IndentHowever, not everyone in London had a family. There were some who were born into the world alone, and would die alone. Sitting behind the clock face of Big Ben sat one of those people. Iyemina stroked her hair softly; something her mother might have done had she had one. She sighed, wondering where life would take her now. It had been 475 years ago since she had been created, yet her face looked like that of a twenty-three year old woman. She had long, straight, flowing blackish-brown hair, and her eyes were of a violet shade. She had plump, pouty lips, and a large bust that would make even the Queen of England blush. She had long legs with a pair of medium-sized feet, and slender, dainty hands as well. Iyemina wore a tiny dress to enhance these features. She was beautiful.

IndentWith a soft sigh, she jumped down from her seat behind the giant clock's face, and paced back and forth. "I grow so very tired of being lonely. I need to do something to make myself happy, and not alone." She giggled, wondering what she could possibly do. Suddenly, she felt a cool breeze coming from behind her.

Dozens of pigeons flapped and snapped from white-crusted wood above, their feathered and beating wings disturbing and rustling the air as they swooped down and around the area behind the clock face. Coos sounded from their beaks while clicks came from their nails as they landed clumsily on the rickety banister that lined the stairwell. Gray and white heads glanced at one another, or down the rectangular hole in the floor.

A soft “thunk thunk” could be heard echoing on the old wooden slats below, and the noise, for some reason, caused the dirty birds to chortle and coo even more so than they already where. They’d puff their chests, stretch their wings, or fan their tails, all the while, as their constantly twitching head peered downwards.

IndentIyemina jumped, holding herself back for a few moments. Suddenly, she ran to the door to look out. Nothing. She looked down the stairwell. Nothing. Gazing up, she saw a pigeon peering down at her. Putting a hand to her chest, she added a sigh of relief.

IndentIyemina began to wonder if something else was up there with the pigeons. There was a strange shadow, one that she couldn't quite place. Shrugging it off, she returned to the bell room.

IndentIt was still raining, and getting colder. "Damn it," she mumbled, shivering from the cold. Suddenly she spotted a shallow metal bowl, and quickly got it. She grabbed some extra lumber that was lying around from some recent reconstruction. Placing it on the metal, she placed her hands on the wood. A spark came, and it the wood began to burn.

IndentIyemina went to gather some water from the rain to put out the fire afterwards. However, there was another noise behind her...and it wasn't the sound of pigeon wings or fire crackling. "Who's there?!" the sorrow asked, looking to see only darkness.

Something moved, causing the floor to creak. An eerie silence fell heavily on the room where the dark-haired woman kept herself. The pigeons had stopped cooing in the rafters, their bodies seemingly frozen as they stared down at the bells. Around, the crackling of the fire grew almost faint, and one could no longer hear the rain that slapped and "wsshhhed" against the clock face just minutes ago. The air seemed to be holding its breath, but it was gettin closer to the strained feeling one often got moments before gasping for air again.

Silence...Silence...

The atmosphere was reaching its breaking point, as if almost any second something would break in the law of the world and send everything into some space time continueum.

"PONG" Something hit one of the bells, and just like that, the fire grew louder, the birds above cooed and rustled their feathers, and once again the rain and wind could be heard from outside.

Despite all this, though, nothing revealed itself to the questioning woman.

True, the stammering rain that had fallen over the lonely streets of London, in which were quite invigorating to those of particular interest. Although, perhaps to those who view the world with the pestimism; or those of a conservative streak. London was full of interesting and peculiar activity...Those where foolish mortals would never take, even a slight glance of what the world had in store for most. She smiled gleamily, watching the scuttering and panic of the humans below from a rather tall building, almost close enough to plurge into the darkened sky. "Teeheehee...Such interesting creatures the petty humans are... Scattering through such insignificance. To never know what the skies, behold them..." Her voiced murmered playfully, as a small breeze of the gentle zephyr blew past her. Her radiant teal hair fluttered into the west wind, the rain slowly quenching her as she snapped at the humans below. Still; it was quite boring simply sitting under the decreipted over hang, escaping a bit of the rain as it poured slight harder. Sighing softly, her eyes traced over to a familiar looking clock tower within the distance. Stroking her hair softly, her feathered wings twitched slightly as the air became slightly colder. "Well...Perhaps the old tower could share a room or too... Or better yet, be abandonded. Whatever the case, the silly rain shouldn't pass through there." The slyphish maiden scoffed, quickly standing up from her long glance and squat. Sighing slightly, she gracefully jumped off from her feet, slowly heightening her height through the glorious air, ignoring the rain that had bedridden most of London itself. Soaring slightly higher into the clouds, she smiled in quite the quirky way, as little thoughts of mischief and lore pranced through her mind. Chuckling softly, Windia softly came upon her stop as the tower came afoot. Dozens of pigeons hung from it's murdane tops, all of them grouping together, as in fear of something below. Raising an eye brow, the sylph slowly descended from her quickened flight; dropping to the roof with a rather loud stomp.

Gracefully gliding down the broken steps of the roof, Windia quickly fluttered off her feet once more, just to take a gaze at the rather large clock. Chuckling once more, she quickly spotted an open hang way, diving through quickly. Still floating above the ground, it had seemed the area was pitch black, perhaps a faint voice within the distance. Intrigued by the voices and noises ahead, she made no sound through her flight, sneakily examining the area.

IndentIyemina now heard two sounds coming from the tower. She stood her ground, waiting to see if anyone approached her. Nothing. There was only silence, and the occasional sounds of a thud or two. She sighed, putting a hand to her chest, the other to her forehead. "How very strange," she mumbled, still feeling a weird sensation.

IndentWith nothing else to do, she shrugged. Returning to the fire, she noticed that it hadn't burned through any of the wood yet. "Perhaps that's my doing, my powers." Iyemina only once had to use her full powers, and that was as a child, running away from a crazed nun. "I am not of their kind," she muttered, "I have no real family, home, and I am not powerless."

IndentTaking a piece of wood from the fire, she began to explore more of the tower. "I know there's someone here," the sorrow said, determined to find the cause of her strange feelings. "You are fooling no one but yourself."

A pigeon flapped through the air in front of the dark-haired Sorrow, and in its wake came a soft, but audible, voice. "If one never had the intention of fooling another, then they certainly couldn't fool one's self." The voice was fairly clear, but soft, like a hundred little bells one may hear as the pearlygates from "above" opened up to them. ...Well, okay, it wasn't that pretty, but it sounded nice enough.

From the inside of one of the bells off to the side, a soft "thunk" was heard and then a pale form ducked out from underneath the great brass instrument. Cloaked and clothed in whites and lavenders, accented with gold, was a slender female body. A porcelain mask, deorcated with a small amount of black decorational paint, concealed her face save for the sight of one singular crimson eye, which peered at the other woman almost curiously.

The knowledge that another Sorrow had joined the pair was currently unknown to the pale, and silver, woman.

IndentIyemina, trying to be polite, smiled at the pale woman. "Oh my, hello there," she said, not quite sure what to say or expect. Mina, as she was once called by a loved one, was not given the gift of great social skills when she was created. However, her speech had changed to English speech of today- probably from listening from above. She was shy, but would not draw back against someone. Afterall, that wasn't her nature...

Indent"You don't look or dress like the people that wonder the streets. What is your name?" Mina noted the single crimson eye showing, remembering that no one she had ever seen had eyes of that color. Quickly scanning over the new female, she saw something that let her know exactly WHAT she was- another sorrow. Still, that didn't answer who the silver haired woman was.

What gave away her own race was soon also spotted on the dark-haired woman in front of her. The pale Sorrow eyed the glittering gold clock gears with curiosity. She hadn't come in contact with any others in years...

Taking note of the question asked of her, the woman lifted her crimson gaze from the clock gears to the other's face. "What is yours?" She asked, still speaking in that silvery bell sounding voice.

IndentIyemina smiled, hoping that the other would do the same. "Iyemina is my name. Mina was once my nickname." She turned, her back facing the woman. "That was long ago, however." Mina sighed, her sights set on the back of the clock.

IndentIyemina touched it gently, it's huge size making her resemble almost that of an ant. "I haven't seen another being like ourselves in many generations. I have been traveling for a long time, staying where there are many large clocks. Sometimes, though, it feels like I am looking in a mirror."

IndentTurning back to face the soft-voiced woman, she gave a softer smile than before. "You never told me your name."

The smile wasn't returned, for even if it was, it wouldn't have been seen anyways.

The crimson lantern of the woman merely watched as some sort of sadness over came the one named Mina, and soon curiosity and sympathy fell upon the silver-haired sorrow. White booted feet carried her lithe body across the room, scarves and veils fluttering behind her despite their hardly being any wind.

"I doubt anyone has really seen anyone else of our race in a good many years. You're the first of our kind I've ever truly seen, despite the many, many, years that I've lived." Her voice had grown even softer, though she still stood about six or seven feet away.

Remebering the last comment the other had said, she simply replied with,"Relíque."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2007 9:44 pm

IndentIyemina paced around the top of the tower, lost in her own thoughts and that of the one similar to herself. "I had a brother once. We were both similar, him and I. However his heart yearned for something more, and we parted ways. That was hundreds of years ago, however." Iyemina didn't smile this time, though she thought only of good memories she and her brother shared.

IndentSuddenly the large bells in the tower began to ring, almost shaking the area. It didn't seem to bother either, however. Iyemina guessed it didn't bother the one named Relíque, since her voice itself almost sounded like little bells. Iyemina had become used to it over the years, but because she was not purely human, it did not effect her hearing.

Indent"So over the years, where have you been? What have you seen?" Mina was curious to know more about Relíque, and she had an idea.

Relíque let her eye follow Mina as she paced back and forth, back and forth. When he woman's words were spilled, thoughts and emotions alike, the silver Sorrow was actually surprised. She hadn't expected to just be told some important fact of other's personal history right out of the blue, espeacially since she hadn't even asked what was troubling the other.

Blinking, Relíque thought of the question asked of her, and unfortuneatly for Mina, she wasn't as open. "Here and there...I've seen so many things, it's hard to remember a specific instance."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 11, 2007 10:05 pm

IndentMina nodded, not asking why or going into details. It was well-known- atleast to Iyemina- that she was only shy around humans. When her brother was alive, they were both very open to each other, and so she was not afraid to share with those like her. Sadly, her brother had changed and moved on, and Iyemina was almost forced to do the same.

IndentFiguring it best not to ask anymore deep, possibly personal questions, she walked back over to where the fire was. She placed her torch with the rest of the burning wood, and Iyemina sat behind it. "It has been raining on and off all day, it seems. Then again, it has always been that way here in Europe, 'suppose. I haven't been off of this continent in about a decade..."

IndentFinally noticing that she was trailing off and going into personal teritory again, she shook her head. Long, dark strands of hair fell around her, almost like a protective cape. Relíque made her feel strange, almost little. "You didn't happen to see anyone else outside, did you?"

"My, my...This is rather interesting..." Windia murmered, brainstorming a few ideas of light-hearted jeer. She had not seen any-sort of those of her kind in the past; although she is considered quite young to the strange women before her. The wall hid her appearence, cautiously drifting her eyes between the two. The darker-haired woman seemed quite robust... A rather open personality was seen, even through her timid speech. Whilst the other was quite lovely...But something didn't seem right, in a way. Windia wasn't really thinking of the consequences of fooling around; preferring to bemuse the scene with some mischief. Quickly jolting her head around the semi-lit room, she quickly made notice of an old cloth, withering on the rusty ground. Chuckling softly, she closed her eyes as she began experimenting with the thin air around her. A small gust rose over the cloth, sending it drifting slowly away towards the two women. "Ooooo...Ooooooo..." The sylph moaned, throwing her voice through the gale as it floated towards them.
