The golden-pelted juvenile was currently dozing by a small watering hole in the Pridelands. His eyes were half-mast, staring lazily at his reflection, the paler toes of his forepaws dipping into the water and wiggling slowly. The sun was high in the sky, and for once in his short life, Roho wasn't feeling the need to run and burn his energy. Today, though, he was just feeling too lethargic, which probably had something to do with the sun seeming hotter than it ever had before... to him, at least. It was right at its zenith at this moment, at the very hottest it would be all day, and Roho was sincerely wishing he had flopped down in something more than the patchy shade of a nearby tree, for now he just.. couldn't be bothered to get up, and the sun's rays were baking his golden fur.

He was bored, though, very bored. He wanted company, even if just to talk, but no one was around. He'd be happy if anyone came round... well, anyone except one lion, that red one who was constantly coming here and pestering him. He sincerely hoped that guy didn't show up when he didn't have the energy to walk away from him until he got the hint.

The small black and white female counted her steps as her black-tipped paws pattered upon the ground. It was a wonder she hadn't run into anything so far. She wasn't exactly watching what was in front of her. Not that she cared anyways. Amesi was still soaking up all of the triumph that came from escaping the watchful eyes of one's parents. It was inevitable.

Giggling as she lost count--obviously not caring about that--the female flicked her tail and leapt ahead a few paces.

What to do now? This was the third or fourth time she had managed to escape her parents' great babysitting skills, and so she had done a lot of what she had wanted to do already. She had met some new folks and had gone on little adventures, exploring the vast Pridelands. She knew she hadn't seen every corner of the lands this pride held, but she had seen enough for her weak heart to be satisfied. For now.

As she wandered aimlessly, she couldn't help but wish that she randomly stumbled upon someone at that moment, just so they could go on an adventure together. If there was one thing that never bored her, it was going on an adventure.

Her paws continuing to patter, Amesi thought she smelled something. Pausing and lifting her head, she wiggled in excitement as she tasted the scent of water. Another watering hole? Excitement and glee filled the small female as she remembered that she had met someone else around a watering hole. Would this be the same? It seemed lots of lions liked to hang around water, since it was an easy way to keep cool in the hottest part of the days. She didn't exactly feel this blazing heat, thanks to her mostly white coat, but there were times when she felt like just laying down and taking a nap.

Leaping forward once more, she quickly hurried in the direction she believed the water to be in--she still wasn't quite good at pin-pointing scents' origins. But, whether through luck or something else, Amesi soon came upon a watering hole. Glancing around quickly with her bright blue eyes, she spotted another resting lazily in the blotchy shade of a tree.

"Hey!"

Roho's paler ears twitched as they caught the sound of a greeting, his head lifting from the ground and his deep brown eyes opening fully. Was someone here? Was that greeting for him? He glanced around the watering hole, and eventually his gaze for a white and black figure. She was younger than him, that was plain to see, but he cared not. Age was no concern to him, as long as the individual was a friend and not a foe.

He smiled at his visitor, pushing himself to a seated position and stretching. "Hey!" he called in reply as he stood, shaking out some of the dust clinging to his golden foor, and then letting his big paws take him in Amesi's direction.

"What's your name?"

Amesi looked rather pleased as her greeting was promptly returned. If she had been a dog, her tail would have been wagging back and forth a million miles a minute. It was amazing how excited she could get just by meeting someone new. But, as she was not a dog, she resolved to smiling broadly and bouncing forward on her paws.

"Hello!" she said again, growing closer to him. She didn't have any real sense of personal space quite yet, but she was doing better. Her father had taught her a little bit, and so she tried to stay out of his face.

"I'm Amesi," she giggled, flicking her tail back and forth curiously. "Who're you? I don't think I've seen you around before!" Which made it all the more exciting for the small white and black female. If there was one thing that made her completely happy beyond all belief, it was meeting others and making new friends.

Glancing around, she wondered vaguely if he had any friends. But she forced herself to focus. One thing at a time!

Luckily for this happy, bouncing little cub, Roho simply wasn't the type to take affront to his personal space being invaded. He was too laid back for it, probably one of the most easy-going lions around. His smile just widened as she approached, glad that the little female had indeed been talking to him. There was no finer way to dispel boredom than by meeting someone new! Of course, he'd learned as a cub that that wasn't always so, but this pretty little girl seemed much friendlier than Azima had.

"Nice to meet you, Amesi," he replied with perfect manners, "I'm Roho." He glanced around him, left and right, gazing out across the vastness of the Pridelands. "Well... this is a big place. We must've just missed each other a lot before now." His ears were perked up, his lethargy gone now that he had some company, and though the meeting had just occurred, Roho was probably just as excited as Amesi.

Amesi was probably lucky more than anything that Roho didn't mind his personal space being invaded. She was trying, but she actually found it rather difficult to keep herself away from others. But mostly she kept herself back by telling herself she probably wouldn't like someone getting up in her face, and so she shouldn't get up in others'.

"Roho!" she exclaimed, stashing it away in her sometimes-faulty memory. But she was trying to get better at that as well. She didn't want to go around meeting everyone in the Pridelands then one day not remember their names!

"It is a big place, isn't it?" she said cheerfully, glancing all around. The little cub loved the Pridelands, she didn't know if she could ever leave it, at least not for good. She knew she wanted to go out and travel when she was older and her father let her. There was just so much world unknown to her, begging to be explored! She always dreamt of adventures with her brother and friends..

"So what are you doing out here?" she asked, although she could probably guess. But, nonetheless, she figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. Maybe he was just resting before doing something interesting.

Roho nodded his head, his growing patch of mane flopping a bit over his forehead, yet not quite long enough to reach his chocolate eyes. "Yeah, it is big here. I haven't managed to explore all of it yet, that's for sure." That was probably also owed to the fact that he had his haunts, this watering hole being one of them. He had his favourite places that he went to again and again. His most favourite place, though, was a short walk from where the two of them were currently, at the crest of a steep hill.

"Oh, I'm just hanging around, waiting to find something fun to do, or someone to play with. What're you doing around here?" He asked his question with simple curiosity, sitting himself down and watching her with interest. "Do you live here, or are you just visiting?" Well, it couldn't hurt to ask. He'd hate to assume and be wrong. And he wanted to know if she was going to suddenly disappear; she was such a nice girl, after all. He'd like to have her as a friend.

Amesi nodded her head slightly, ears flicking to the side. "I want to see all of the Pridelands!" she proclaimed, lifting her head to make her seem taller. She was already a small cub, and she didn't like the fact that she was restricted in some ways because of her small size. She was always looking for ways to make herself seem bigger, or simply not as small, or to prove herself. "Every single last bit," she added.

But of course, she was greatly slowed in her progresses. For one thing there was her father, who was constantly holding her back for no apparent reason. Amesi felt he was worrying over nothing, but deep down she knew he wasn't. Her hurting heart held her back like no other could. She didn't want to get sick and then be unable to travel for weeks, so she attempted to pace herself.

Turning her attention away from her thoughts and back to him, she flicked her tail curiously then sat down promptly on her rump. "I was just wandering around. I'm trying to get as much exploring done before my daddy comes to find me," she replied, nodding. It shouldn't be long now. "Hey! Maybe we could play together!" she squealed, completely elated that she should have found a playmate so soon. What luck she had! She wanted to make new friends and, what do you know, she makes new friends. It was wondeful beyond comprehension.

"Yep! I live here," she said excitedly, leaping to her paws. "You live here too, right?" She figured he did, since he was talking about exploring the Pridelands and such and he seemed to know a little about them.

His mouth dropped open in a wide grin, tail flicking as he watched Amesi. It was good to meet someone like himself, someone who loved exploring and meeting friends, and who was so lively and happy. "You want to explore all of it?" he asked, sounding gleefully amused. "That's gonna take forever!"

His ears drooped a bit, then, and his eyes took on a worried look. If her daddy was gonna come and find her soon and stop her wandering around, should he start playing games with her? He didn't know. "Well... if your daddy wants you to stop playing soon.. should we? I don't wanna get you in trouble or nothin'."

He bobbed his head in agreement, glancing around. "Yeah, I live in a den not far from here with my dad and my brothers and sisters. That's why we can play another day, if your daddy might get mad at you..."

Amesi nodded her head ferverently, giggling girlishly. "ALL of it!" she repeated, spinning around on her toes. "I want to explore every single place in the world!" It was farfetched for someone like her, but it was her dream to travel and to see an assortments of places and terrains, as well as to meet many new friends along the way.

"I don't care," she spoke, raising her head proudly as he said that it would take forever. "I'm going to explore everything." She was ambitious, but in the best way possible. She didn't want to hurt anyone and she didn't want any power, she simply wanted to travel.

"Aw, my daddy won't mind if I'm just playing. He just worries a lot," she sighed, frustrated almost. Why couldn't her father give her just one day where he wouldn't worry about her and wouldn't bother her with so many check-ins?

Shaking her head, she bounded forward and tagged Roho slightly on the shoulder. "He won't get mad. Not at you, at least." She giggled, pouncing back and forth, obviously not worried about what her father might think. She wanted to have fun! And she knew that her father only worried about her because he loved her dearly, so his worrying didn't bother her so much as it might have seemed.

"Let's play!"

Roho laughed, amused and made happy by Amesi's enthusiasm. It was invigorating to find someone so lively and ready to do things he wanted to do himself, and more. He liked her energy. "That'll take a long time, but it sounds like it'll be a lot of fun, too!" Her ambition was nice, he thought; he didn't have any himself. He just wanted to be happy in life, and do his best to make others happy. "I'm sure you will explore everything, one day."

Roho wavered in indecision for a few moments, before he smiled at her and got to his feet. "Well, if you're sure your dad won't mind..." He crouched in a typical play stance, rear end up high and head down low, his cream-tipped tail waving in the air.

"You'd better run before I get ya!" he said, growling playfully as he prepared to pounce.
