Okay, this all started out on an innocent trip to the mall, said trip had me dashing for Hot Topic. *whee*
Anyway, I always buy the little pins they sell, and one had the gay pride flag and the word recruiter on it in purple lettering. I immediately buy it and stick it on my purse.
Mom see it and goes ' eek Kat, do you know what the rainbow colors mean?"
Me: Yes mom, I know what it means?
Mom: Are you sure, because you don't know everything about sex yet.
Me: *sweatdrops* Yes, mom, it means gay pride....*really wanting to flip mom off at the moment*
Mom: Then why do you have it?
Me: *silent glare*
~Four hours later, on the way home~
Mom: But why did you buy the pin?! You're not gay or anything?
Me: *fights off urge to break into laughter, and just goes silent*
I have no idea what my mother suspects now, but I am sorely tempted to scream, "I'm bi," and walk out the door.

#1: I want your pin.
#2: I, personally, would just tell her to get it off of my chest, but sometimes there are circumstances that keep us on our respective closets *sigh* *hugs* I'm really sorry honey. Just wear your pin everywhere, it'll drive her crazy.

I'm going to wait until it's legal for me to be an adult, at worst, they would kick me out, at the least I'll get a two hour talk.
Any Hot Topic should have the pin.

Let me guess, you bought it in KC, Miss.? I live about an hour from there on the KS side.
And yes, I'd just tell her. Or toy with it and have some fun.

More than likely.
This subject is going to spring up very often I can tell, especially if I start dating my friend Amanda.

I want a pin like that. Yeah and you should tell your mom when you feel that it's the right time for you. If that means yelling it in her face "I'M BI!" then go right ahead, just so long as it's what you feel is right. And just out of curiosity, what are the Bi pride colours?

I believe its purple teal and red.

Wow, this is pretty amazing. We have at least 4 people living within a close drive of each other. We've got KC, Lawrence KS, IL, and St. Louis xD represent! xP
Anyway, yesh, awsome pin. Seems like the question of telling parents comes up a lot. I told mine because I knew they'd handle it pretty well, plus I felt like I owed it to them. I'd been going out with my best friend for 5 months right under their noses whee Plus Molly wanted me to. It was a comfort issue I guess. Now when you're uncertain and afraid of how your parents react, I do think it's a rational thing to do to keep it under wraps until you're out of the house. Maybe even try to work the parents into it. Somehow bring up a gay-rights discussion and try to show them the light? That could go badly though.
ooo...I just thought of a story. And this is going to be a really long post now xP At school (again, all girls catholic), last year there was the "lesbian group." They were all tangled and dramatic and permiscuous. It was crazy, they were fun. Anyway, one of the girls wore a rainbow ribbon necklace with the word "pride" on it to school one day. She was forced to take it off because it was "indecent." >> grrrrr. Ah, the chances of starting a GSA at my school are sky high.

Aah wtf! I would take off the necklace, flip whoever told me to take it off behind their backs, and when they leave, put it back on again. I am so tempted to go buy/make some pride jewelry of some sort. Heh, I'm going shopping at the pet store tomorrow, going to buy a new collar to wear, and if I find some rainbow one, oh I'll buy it in a heartbeat.
With my parents, they don't know. My brother knows, he's fine with it, but being my brother, he makes fun of me once in a while about it. He figured it out (not figured it out, it was sort of obvious..) when he said something like, "You hate women" and I just blurted out "I love women!!".. ^^;

I wore them EVERYWHERE I went. It drove my Great Grandmother nuts (live with her, mom didn't care though) shes like 'Well, you must be gay if you support that kind of stuff' *sighs* I know how it can get. Though she doesn't under stand the whole rainbow thing. So my rain bow wrist band of mine is safe.
