That's right, ladies and gentlemen! Step right up and smell the contest with me!
Right now it is still in it's planning stages but I do plan on having a contest for the guild!
It is just a little thing, an idea really, that would help get the guild on it's feet.
My contest idea: Go around to various pages (make sure that where you go allows advertising, I DON'T want this guild getting a bad reputation) and post an advertisement. Yes, I want proof of this advertising, I want either a screen shot or a link to where you advertised.
The post can contain a link to the guild or, if you like, you may simply put it in your signature and post a quaint "bump" with something along the lines of "Click the link in my sig! Help the world!" in it. I really don't mind but remember, only one post per topic or else I won't count it.
Person who advertises the most, wins.
Yes, I know that it is gunna be a nightmare to sift through all the pages and screen shots to see who advertised the most, but hey. It's for the guild, and, ultimately, for the world.
I think that there should be a first and second place prize but I'm a little stuck on prizes. It should be gold or a sealed envelope or something along those lines. Maybe the rest of the mods can scrape enough cash together to get a sealed as a prize and maybe... 5-9k as a second place prize?
Also, there is the ever popular "Make a banner, win a prize" contest, I would love to be able to get a contest like that in this guild... Maybe when we have more members. I like this idea more, though, because I understand that not everyone can be on gaia 24/7 like some of us are (coughmecough).
Well? What do you think of my (pathetic) plans?
Should the contest go on? Should I not even throw it another glance?!
Come on, people! Help a poor MOD out!

Another way to organize this is to PM PMSingPMer with your name to say your participating. Then the contest could be to get as many people as possible to join, and the person (when they ask to join) would say who told them to join, and that person would get a point.

Now we just need a prize.

Don't worry, I can't draw either but people with paint or photoshop can make banners. But I have a feeling the contest is who can get the most new members in the allowed time. biggrin

The world needs acts not unfufilled dreams. Hmm, now that I think about it, a drawing contest has great potential! It would have to relate to the guild, maybe WEG_champ2010 or I could come up with a topic/subject/or just a world issue of your choice to draw a picture of and we will pick out favorite/the best one and they will receive the prize. Also, everyone will win (in a way) because as long as the pics are small enough, we can create banners with them!
