>>The child was back in the music room, but didn't know why she was there exactly. But somehow, she ended up in the middle of the floor, gently strumming that old guitar. Why? Did the instrument hold some sort of significance with her past?<<

Running through the gates of dawn...
Running through the feilds of corn...

Close your eyes and see the glory,
Where the river flows so strong.
Open your eyes too see that glory,
Come to the gates of Dawn... >>the girl gently sang, a song very different then the one she sang before<<

Yue languidly walked down the halls of the Division. Drinking green tea was always relaxing to him. He hummed a familiar song. What was it called...?

A faint melody floated to his ears just as the title of the song was at the tip of his tongue. Where was it coming from?

Listening closely, Yue trailed after the sound and found himself in front of the music room. He hesitated before gently tugging the door open.

A look inside revealed the unknown musician to be Sayuri. The dark haired shinigami silently listened to the song at the doorway.

The wheels of life keep turning,
Spinning without control;
The wheels of the heart keep yearning,
For the sound of the singing soul.
And nights are full with weeping,
For sins of the past we've sown,
But tomorrow is ours for the keeping,
Tomorrow the future's shown.... >>The song smoothly died from her lips as she looked up, ice blue eyes focusing on the male. Her fingers went still on the strings<<

What a beautiful melody. A half smile played on his lips as he listened. When the music died away, he opened his eyes again. When had they closed?

Looking up, he met her azure eyes. "That's a nice song... Why'd you stop," Yue asked. He walked deeper into the room and sat on the piano's bench.

>>She watched as he walked into the room and sat down, eyes never leaving his wispy form<< Yamashita Yue... >>She slowly shook her head, looking down at the guitar. No one was supposed to hear that song. Whatever that song was. Thats why she stopped. The child was a cold, feirce demon. She didn't sing songs about hope, which didn't become appearent until the second big stanza. Slowly Sayuri looked back up<< I do not remember more. >>Liar. The song had popped into her mind the instant she sat down with the instrument. Creepy, yes. But now it was all there. Forever there<<

Yue saw the subtle telltale signs of falsehood but did not push the topic further. If she didn't want to, it was not his place to pry. Afterall, he hated it when people had done so with him.

"Such a shame... I would have liked to hear the rest of the song," Yue commented instead. He trailed his finger onto of the piano's cover. The lacquered surface was cool and smooth to the sensitive pads of his fingers.

"I see that my Haven has been discovered by other people. Do you come here frequently?"

>>Sayuri tried not to blush at hearing his comment about listening to the rest of the song as she stared down at her guitar. Did she come here frequently? Every other day. Normally just to play, but somehow deep in her mind she knew that cursed guitar ment something to her. Did she play it back when she was alive?<< sweatdrop >>She really wanted her doll right then!<< No...never. >>Her eyes flickered back up. Wow, two lies in less then a half an hour. She was living proof that pinocios theory was false!<< And you?

The violet eyed shinigami pondered about the question for a moment. It seemed as if his visits were becoming more and more often, although he did not see Sayuri in the room before. At least not after when he first found the sanctuary.

"I guess pretty often. It's a nice way to unwind after a day or a mission," he finally replied, "I don't know why but... for some reason, music seems very... familiar. Like it's something I've done for a very long time. Is it the same for you...?"

Yue raised his gaze and deliberately made eye contact. Would she speak the truth or not?

>>Her gaze sharpened slightly. He felt it too. Did they know eachother in the past? No...highly unlikely. But they could have gone into a similiar stream<< ...Only for this guitar >>The girl finally admitted in her soft voice. Only for that guitar. She knew that if she tried, she could play things on the other guitar. But it was the old, nearly broken one that strung a cord in her the most. Sayuri was about to ask him if he thought it was because they had before, was about to ask if it had any real significance. But no...she just kept silent, eyes on his<<

Yue nodded to her brief answer. The young adult leaned back slightly and thought aloud, "I...remember fragments of my human life... I'm pretty sure I was a musican. Sheet music in this room with my name as the composer pretty much shouts it out, ne?"

His eyes gazed at the bookshelves crammed with music. This was where he had originally found the binder of music. Somewhere between the folders were the several sheafs of papers binded together.

It felt as if recalling his past was just out of his reach. Tantalizingly close, yet still untouchable. Yue felt a bit frustrated at the small pieces he held.

>>She blinked in surprise. He composed music? No wonder he could actually play a decent song. Smoothly she stood, walking back to the wall of guitars and gently placing the old one back into place<< Lucky...I do not remember a thing >>Sayuri softly admitted, cold eyes looking sad but turned away from him so he couldn't see. A demon down in the Real World...Huh. Her past must have been interesting...maybe she ruled? Maybe thats why she liked sweets so much...offerings<<

Yue gave a small bittersweet half-smile, "Isn't that suppose to be what I say? The past... it's a burden that you don't want to be carrying."

Weaving the fingers of both hands together, Yue turned his palms out, and stretched as far as he could. He continued to speak as he stretched, "Because there are just things that you don't want to know." like reliving your mother lying lifelessly, crying for her lost baby and wasting away... he added mentally.

Carefully balanced, the shinigami drew up his legs and clasped them to his chest. He rested his head on his knees and turned to look at Sayuri, dark eyes unreadable.

"And sometimes knowing the past is a price you cannot afford to pay."

>>Words bubbled to her lips, but she harshly pushed them down<< No no, stupid! >>The girl blinked until she thought that her eyes were normal again before turning around, looking back at him. A tiny smile appeared on her lips as if an attempt to look happy. Thats what little kids did right? They smiled alot? Right?<< You found some...bad past...Yamashita Yue?

Yue subconciously clenched his jaw tightly and narrowed his eyes. "Stop that," he said brusquely. The fair-skinned shinigami could feel an unknown emotion rising. For some reason, he truly hated it when people did that. To smile fakely to hide their true selves. It felt the same as being lied to.

Turning his head away, he stared at the wall. Still not facing her, he replied, "Just... something I don't ever want see again."

>>The smile instantly vanished. Well...this conversation was certainly becoming benefitial. She had lots to work with for a nice long game! Then again, if she broke his mind, he wouldn't be very fun to talk to again. And that was no fun. Sayuri smoothly sat down<< Gomen. >>The child softly spoke, voice a whisper yet somehow strong enough to carry over. At the second part, she almost winced. Almost. For some odd reason, she wanted to cry. But no. She was a big girl. Big girl demons didn't cry. It wasn't big girl like, and she had to be a big girl<< Care to share?
