A large, mountinous wasteland of gray stone and gravel, and very rocky. The focal point of this region is a strange-and very large- rift in the ground that formed several years back, leading down to Scab coral level under ground. There is a somewhat infamous base around it that gives the area its name....however, the base is empty and torn up. Even though it's crevasse-side lot has only been abandoned for a year, the few people who still live in the area fear it, and the mysterious Rift. Corellians roam freely around and attack anyone near the great fissure. This is also the location of the discovery/construction of the Arcane LFO Mercury, which was excavated from the depths of the rift after the military moved in and initially drove away the Corellian antibodies. After the LFO was built and suseqently left, the Anti-bodies returned and attacked with a vengance, causing the place to once more fall into silence and ruin; joining warusawa in infamy. The military "tests" conducted here where rumored to be nightmarish.... And the mysterious depths of the Fissure conceal much. (pictures to come as soon as I can make them)

(((04-06-2007: We move from the Del Cielo topic to the Triga Topic)))(((Copy of my last post for reference: Kayako 99 "What the hell was TOLLY doin' on there anyways?? When did he even get aboard?? This is nuts..."
Kayako was mumbling to herself as she drug the blue-haired boy out of his LFO and proceeded to use his shirt-sleeves to move him over by Senturi where she could keep an eye on him. Lord knows nobody was sure what the heck that silver LFO would do now that it was back in it's precious home. Any UF scientist would swear it couldn't move on it's own....but she knew otherwise.
"Okay...what I am supposed to do now?? ONE of you two better know what your doing!"'This one thinks the boy will wake up soon...'
'I KNOW that. You don't know what your doing either do you??'
'......You are the one who brought us here.'
'In other words, no.'

The ship slid into the hanger gracefully, like a brick hitting the water. The right wing again smacked the side of the doors, but it still managed to get through mostly unscathed. Quinn drew the back of his hand across his forehead and hit his "Magic Carpet Ride" button with the other. Whew... I'm not too rusty. He pulled back on the throttle to let the ship move in on its leftover inertia, the engines creaking slightly as they cooled. Of course, a perfect, silent landing was impossible for this ship. The wheels, which Quinn assumed were not so much wheels as squares, ground on the concrete loudly.
Finally, though, the contraption worked its way to a deadstop, but, as one last act of defiance, backfired like a hillbilly's beat-up pick-up. Quinn looked around the bridge slowly.
"Hey guys... did you see that?! I was flying!!" A long silence filled the air and the man slowly came to realize that no one was on the bridge with him. He would announce the name shortly.

Walking onto the bridge Tolly grimaced. Everyone there was looking at him and wondering why they had ever boarded this death trap.
He stared at them and wiped sweat off his brow, "Hey, atleast the wings didn't fall off." Pulling back his hand a long streak of grease could be seen across his forehead and nose.
No one said anything right away. "Okay, fine.. yeah it still needs work. By the way, be careful walking down the hall. The metal plating for the floor fell in right in front of the stairwell. Just, you know... step over that."
Under his breath he mumbled,"Ugly Bird."

"Okay then, thanks for the warning. Oh, by the way... you've got a..." Quinn moved his hand across his face. "... on your face." He stared at Tolly for a long time, caught staring at it. He quickly shook himself, though, and rose from his seat.
"Flew pretty good for a piece of crap, didn't it?" asked the pilot colloquially. "I didn't even expect the engines to work."

Dragging a rag across his face he mumbled into it again. "Yeah, me neither."
He got most of it off and headed to the comm at the bridge. "anyway. hey, tower. This is Director Marcius. Have the commisioning teams move in to start upgrades. Also, get the Project Manager down here. We have some things to talk over."
"Good job Quinn," he said when he was finished,"You kept us in the air and we made it without any serious incidents. I couldn't have asked for anymore."
Looking around at everyone else he smiled. "Maybe they would make it." he thought.

"Aww shucks," said the pilot man, feigning embarrassment. "You did, uh... a pretty good job yourself!" It took him a few minutes afterward to remember what Tolly had actually done.
Oh yeah. Nothing.
Now with the ship docked for a while, there would probably be a long period of waiting between now and when something cool happened. He took a hold of his segway and rolled down the ship, headed toward the hangar floor. A quick look around couldn't hurt anything, and he needed to check up on the ship anyway. Particularly the wheels, which had probably worn to the metal by now.

Tolly followed Quinn out of the ship. Once outside he lit up a cigarette and looked around. The hanger was immense. There was enough room inside to fit three Ugly Birds side by side. One wall was covered by crates and supplies ready to be installed in the ship. ON the other far wall were three jeeps near a smaller door to travel back and forth to the main buildings. A Staircase beside it led to an observation room. Tolly headed for the observation room and once there he looked over the prints on the desks.
When Jamison arrived he met Tolly in the second floor room that looked out over the hanger floor. They talked about the ship and what still needed to be done with it.

"Oh come on!!"
Underground, things were far more annoying. Why wouldn't these idiots wake up, and/or tell her what to do? One would assume an archetype so bent on getting down there would jump for joy when it finally got there. But no one was talking to her, nor was Senturi helping much. In fact, the black and violet LFO seemed quite bored. Kayako had thought she'd even heard it singing softly a few moments ago.....
Walking over to the end of the tunnel, the girl looked around a bit, then cautiously reached out and touched the wall of the coral formation.
"This is....weird. I hear voices...except they're not in my head...Gray, are you even the least bit conscious over there??"
She looked back to where the boy was, not even noticing her hand seeming to sink a bit into the wall. It was only when she tried to go back over to her LFO that Kayako realized that she couldn't get away from the cave wall.....

((Okay! I'm here; assuming controll of general NPC's and such...shall I controll that Tower you radioed, Tolly-sama? I'm not sure whether you intend to controll it yourself.)) ....thump.... thump.... thump, thump, thump... Thumpthumpthump!... The walls seemed to pulse slowly, flickers of green light flashing through the tangled mesh of coral that constituted the walls. the cracked ground viberated slightly, and the tunnel seemed to be shacking with a pusle, almost like a heartbeat. "--gaah..!" Abruptly, Gray gasped, drawing in air like a person who had nearly drowned; his shallow breath giving was to large gasps. In fact, at that same moment, His eyes also shot open, alltogether creating a effect like being cut loose from something; as though Mercury had released him... Mercury's open green gem eyes glowed to like in time with the rushes of light; a soundless vioce flowing out into the minds of the two pilots; above the ghostly whispers already present on the wind. Complete. Complete. Complete.. Gray woke up in the middle of this; the color rushing back to his complexion. Strangely; aside from the echoes of Mercury's vioce in his head, his connection was quiet; as though Mercury had cut itself from him-a thought that filled him with relief and grief at the same time. "m..m-mercury?" Gray asked out loud, suddenly feeling isolated and alone. Struggling, he managed to sit up, propping his back agaist a rock... just as Mercury Lit up like a christmas tree; a green dome of light expanding out from it and pushing agiast the walls of the tunnel; etheral flecks of light drifting about light Snow. The Force of it nearly knocked the recovering Gray down agian, and send the vivid images he drifted through while out rushing back into his head. Glancing about wildly, Gray realized he was inside the tunnel he'd seen in his head, the "birthplace" of mercury-but how? Who'd.... A silent Senturi laying agiast a nearby wall gave him the answer. At a sound from behind him, Gray twirled to see Kayako leaning agianst the wall... "Kayako...? You...did...." Gray murmurred light-headedly, trying to focus his vision.

"Huh..? Of course, I wasn't gonna just leave you there looking like a dead rat! It wasn't like anyone else was gonna bring him down here..... And you didn't exactly look in piloting-shape to me....Anyways, are you okay now?"
She was watching Mercury more than him, mostly because he always snapped back as soon as his precious LFO did. If it was okay, he was probably okay too. Still though, that wasn't exactly the problem now...
Since the blue-haired one seemed to be alright for now, Kayako turned and braced herself against the wall to pull her arm free, only to get her foot stuck when she tried to kick it. The thing was moving more, and the whispers were getting louder. She wasn't exactly sure if the LFO was doing this or not, but she didn't like it.
"Gray, we should go. Will Mercury be alright down here, or...wait. You want to stay, don't you?" knowing him, she didn't even have to ask.
The moment she looked back, the substance she was trapped in began to expand and form around her, encasing almost her body in the same material the cave itself was made of. Kayako hadn't thought much of it up until then, but she started to panic now while she tried to make it let go of her. There was something up with this place!!
"GRAY!! Get over here!! What's it doing?? LET GO!!"
'You also have a wish, do you not? When you left us, you left that wish inside with your human memories.....'
"WHAT?? Gray!!"
(((HA! I did it!! Thank god for theme music!!!)))

The segway scooted around the ship. With a quick glance, Quinn could already identify several problems with hulking machine, though some were easily corrected. First off, the wheels were in need of replacing. No, they hadn't worn down to the metal yet, but some of the rubber had been burned off when another piece of the landing gear had connected with the ground in front of them, sending sparks flying back to the now-singed rollers. The fallen piece of landing gear would be quickly fixed with a bit of securing and tightening; it obviously had been fastened to the rest of the ship in haste, probably due to time constraints.
Secondly, the leftmost engine had not fired up. Quinn assumed it was because of a misconnected wire from the bridge not sending the needed commands to the machine, but there was no real way to tell from outside.
Lastly, someone had spraypainted a naked picture of Kanashisa under the left wing. Quinn lost his lunch and pushed his segway back as fast as it would take him.
