As the title says. I'm am curious to see what happened to some people that may have driven their love for Erik. I know quite a few people whom have had problems similar to his, be it rivals, be it deformities, be it flat out love.
I have no intension in finding out about your personal life. On the contrary, I'd prefer you not get soo detailed if you do have a story to tell. If you wish to get into detail, however, who am I to stop you?
Again, this is just to catch a glimpse as to why you love what you love.
If you can't relate your life to him in any way, I'd like you to at least say why you love The Phantom of the Opera.
This is all I write. Ignore this if you think need be, I really don't care. I just thought I'd start a topic in this underground guild.

I don't have a sob story or any similar traits...quite the opposite. I am a writer...and Erik never had patience for writing....
I began to love Erik because of who he was...plain and simple. I'm sure it's the same with most people to. Why else would anyone begin to love anyone but for admiration and respect of who that person was and/or did?

Well, I'm like Erik in many ways. No, I don't have a deformity, but everyone really avoids me in school. I have one close friend, and I have recently found that when anyone else gets closer to that friend then I am I tend to form a barrier to the other person. I'm very protective... gonk
As I mentioned before, so many people think I'm really strange. I can't say I'm not. I've fallen in love with Erik...I am weird. I like him because I can realate to him in the sense that he was excluded from society. I also admire his musical talents, as music is my one and only FAVORITE thing in the world... heart
And that's it... 3nodding 4laugh

I relate far more to the Daroga than to Erik, actually. Perhaps I like him then because, in a slightly less crazy incarnation, he's the kind of person I would love to have as a friend.

I can't really relate to Erik, in fact I'm quite the opposite.
But I can say that I love the character because he's so talented, yet so tragic because of his unrequited love for Christine.

I can't say that I'm like Erik in very many ways. I could act that way, perhaps, and I enjoy writing in his character, but there's not much we have in common. I enjoy singing and music (though I'm not particularly talented in either), I love writing, and I have some trouble dealing with my emotions. I also have a sort of family life that can be painful to me and my brothers on occasion; I live in a good, loving home though, but with problems that are not always so average. The left side of my face is pretty much hideous (in my opinion). And...that's about it.
Beyond that, I can list things that make us very different. I don't prefer hiding to making a spectacle of myself in the outside world. Just yesterday, for instance, I ran screaming down my friend's street with her. I enjoy my shabbiness, and dislike most things that are associated with wealthy people. I also am of average intelligence, and I have no exceptional musical abilites.
Simply put, I love Erik for who he is, but I don't compare most characters to people, myself included. The actors I can compare, but beyond that, I've tried not to do so.

My best friend secretly stole a girl I loved(although Raoul and the Phantom were far from friends), and in the end I ended up letting her go so she could be happy. That makes me like Erik, I guess.
But, to be honest, about 3 weeks after that, I met a girl that I'm infinitely more compatible with, and we've been together for almost 5 months now, with absolutely NO problems with our relationship.
Actually, "Phantom" is how I met my girlfriend. She's one of my cousin's best friends, and Tory(my cousin) brought her to see a play I was doing, an original script about the 3 Musketeers(D'Artagnan RULES!!!). We were hanging out backstage after the show, and our light director came back and started singing a number from the show. I started singing, and I noticed her singing under her breath. Ten minutes later, we were onstage performing the Final Lair scene, with me singing the Phantom, her Christine(and she's already Broadway material!!) and Ryne(my cousin who stole the girl) as Raoul. Afterwards, she told me that I made her want to cry at the end, and that I scared the crap out of her with the "Go now!! Go now and leave me!!" line. Maybe I've got potential after all....

I call myself the good looking Erik. I don't have a face mutilated but, my leg is mutilated now to where i can't really walk. I play the organ and other instruments, I write music and plays for myself, I sing them too and I even am incharge of the play which i wrote at school, i hang around the music room a lot. I have a woman i love but, she'd be happier with someone else. my mom died and my fatehr blames me so i'm like no parents. I'M FRENCH ahem...and i have some anger problems.. no one touches my girlfriend or you'll die... i've tried killing people too heart
I have no friends and only one person helps me out when its needed. I'm very intelligent too that i really don't go to school though i'm like a freshman.. 9th grade...and I only wear suit even if i don't wear my coat i wear the similar dressings.
I absolutely ADORE Erik heart
